Thank you for such an honest and informative review! I have an XP-Pen 22R Pro & an Artist 15.6 Pro. I love the drawing experience on both, plus I prefer the colors on XP Pen's products as opposed to Huion. I had a Huion Kamvas Pro 20 starting out which did the job, but I felt like XP Pen gave more value for what I was paying so I went with them. Plus the XP Pen driver updates worked a lot better for me. I'm sure Huion's drivers have come a long way, so I believe any one of these products will provide a nice drawing experience and overall performance. I do wish XP Pen had an etched glass surface.
Dude I got mine yesterday and I’m in love with it! It draws and inks so perfectly in my personal opinion! I wanted a bigger work space since i have a cintiq 13hd so i got caught myself zooming in to much and caught in details that it got me to lose motivation to keep the work going! and i got my money’s worth, and I’m very pleased with the response and not getting caught in details while working on my art. Goodbye Cintiq you been good as my first display tablet, but HELLO HUION!!
Does the screen only detects the pen....or even hands? I wanted to buy one too...but I'm not quite convinced on that glove thingy.
ワイフ•ブラスタ the gloves only serves to make your hand slide through the screen as you draw without getting stuck or to prevent oily hands if you work on a high temperature environment. The screen does not detect touch by hand. There are other that have that feature from companies like Wacom, their products are good but expensive! In my opinion after upgrading from a Cintiq 13hd I don’t regret buying it. The value plus the amount of space that you have, you won’t get caught zooming in to work on non important details! The decision is yours to make I hope you find my information useful and good luck getting whichever drawing display of your choice!! Best regards!!!!

I have a Cintiq13 hd from Wacom it cost me the same amount equivalent to the Huion kamvas pro 20! If you decide to get one of these I recommend you order through amazon because I had quite some problems with them through their original website not processing the payment and it was a trainwreck! Make sure you order the kamvas pro 20 (2019) version not last year model actually there are 2 pro 20 but the (2019) is the latest upgraded version of it. Best wishes and stay blessed and safe!!!

I also bought this tablet screen, and honestly this is far better then all other huion tablet screens. The fact they finally got into battery free is a huge plus and this pretty good to start with or even stick with. I highly suggest this screen for alternative to walcom

I actually like that It doesn't have tilt support, not only do I never use it, I can find that while working at other angles it's SO ANNOYING when my sketching pen suddenly gets super fat. Some drawing software you can edit it and disable that functions, some you can't.

@@cheesecake6636 It works great and acts as my second monitor. I don't use the hotkeys though since it makes my hands tired. The size is just right for me. I use a keypad instead and programmed hotkeys on it (keypad is like 10-14$ each).
Mine's arriving tomorrow. Great to know I'll be in good hands with this tablet.

@@rowwiddit7096 It's pretty good! The colours certainly aren't the greatest, but the size is comfortable, the screen feels really nice to draw on and the pressure sensitivity is easy to control. I really like how the pen feels as well.

For DVI, you can use the HDMI port since HDMI is backwards compatible with DVI. I also see there a DisplayPort, which I think is superior to HDMI since it's locking.
i could not get my display port to work on my huion kamvas might b a bad cable but it works on my moniter so idk if my kamvas port is bad or what but i am rocking hdmi on it and it is still awesome no issues to speak of

Bought it today and super excited, still learnin from ya I think I've come a pretty long way. Cant wait to get where I need to and thank you for your helppp!
I would say to be careful about the pen for any purchasers.
If your pen (like mine) has a grinding sensation when it's drawn at an angle, look into a replacement ASAP. It's only going to get worse.
Other than that though, I think just about everything else about it is pretty great. The stand could be better for the reasons described here, but you can also just get a VESA mount and do your own thing; a lot of nice design choices put into this one.

i been using my gt 191 v2 for a year now and i'm loving it. I switched out the vga cable for a dvi might want to try that. I personally think it will give you a better color display. =) great review man!

Awesome! I've been looking into a tablet to get into illustration. And Huion seems to be a great alternative to the more expensive tablets.
My first graphic tablet was the one Mickey recommended. If I ever buy another one in pretty sure it'll one he recommends!

Here is a savings tip for a smudge glove, if you get a drawing monitor that does not come with one or something happens to yours, then just buy a cheap and thin winter glove from any store that sells those things and cut off 3 of the fingers - it provides the same thing at a fraction of the cost.

Hey Mikey, I wanted to know if you intend to review the 2019 model? I want to buy a drawing tablet but wanted to know if the 2019 model was worth waiting for.

(Please keep company bias out commenters - I simply want to know which tablet is better, don’t care about the company that produces it)
Well I haven't tried the Huion 22 Pro, but after looking at Mikey's review I can say that the parallax is the same on the Cintiq 16 and Huion 22 Pro. The Cintiq 16 has more accurate pen stylus, I did not need to calibrate it. I like that the Cintiq 16 makes use of Wacom's software on screen customizable shortcut buttons where as the Huion Pro 22 has physical shortcut buttons. It is a pity that Huion shortcut buttons are mirrored on both sides. I see that the colors on the Huion 22 Pro are better than the Cintiq 16. Cintiq 16 doesn't come with stand for higher viewing angles and requires either Wacom's own seperate stand and VESA adapter or shorter screws if you want to mount pen display on VESA mounting arms or stands, where as the Huion 22 Pro looks VESA mount compatible right out of the box and comes with a quality stand. The Cintiq 16 cable is proprietary while the Huion 22 Pro cables can be replaced easily. I haven't had an issue with software crashing on Huion Q11K and Kamvas Pro 13 and when it does you just launch the software again and you are good to go. Where as in four days of use with Cintiq 16 the software soft crashed randomly while adjusting values in menus and hard crashed twice randomly while drawing and while just standing looking pretty, which required a computer restart or Wacom services restart.
I bought this model as an upgrade for my wacom 13hd about two weeks ago. I love it and I can honestly say that it IS an upgrade.
I would research the differences between the wacom 16 and the pro 16. They are numerous and the compromises Wacom made to the base 16 model made it a no go for me.
If you HAVE to have a wacom for whatever reason I would spend an extra 100 on the new 13 pro model.

Long answer - depends on your preference. I have both and the feel of Wacom is my favorite.

I bought Pro22 and spare inches are HUGE helpers for me using ZBrush because of it's bulky UI
It's a shame that none of the newer high-end models are being made in 20 inch. I like having some extra space for menus so a 16 is a no-go, but the 24 screens are so massive that I'd rather not have one on my desk. It's strange that we're now getting 4k versions of the 16s when that's not nearly enough space to enjoy that clarity. I'd take a 20 with 2.5k resolution over that any day.

Man, kinda wish this had come out around the same time the Kamvas 13 did.
I bought the 13 back in like, October or something, and had a fairly bad experience over the course of four months. I wound up returning it and getting the new Cintiq 16 and have had a much better experience with it, but I wouldn't have minded the 20-inches here had that been available at the time.
Guys this is important!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 10:46 on settings on pen and keys you will notice a tiny small black gear icon...in there you can custom settings from different software at same time, click there look for the exe add it and then edit it, you can do the changes then apply it, took me by surprise when I discover it. They added this on the latest driver.

For the tactile dot I would suggest using self-adhesive mini rhinestones, ones that can be put on and removed whitout causing damage!

You know, I bought this thing a year ago and I hated it. I had a problem with digital stair stepping on slower controlled strokes. I thought it could have been the firmware, still had the problem. I thought maybe it was the pen. I took the pen apart fiddled with it, still had the problem. Ordered a new pen, still had the problem. I gave up on it and just used it as a second monitor. About 3 days ago I recently decided "what the hell, I'll check for new drivers." and now the dang thing draws like a dang dream. I think pen pressure blows out easily but other than that it's nice now.

i have been looking for an alternative digital tablet other then wacom.
Wacom seems to never really progress from one generation to the other, and they still ask for ridiculous amount of money.
but the Huion seems to do pretty much the same as the Wacom Cintiq pro 16 (with the exception of touchscreen)
so as far as i understand the only difference between the Huion Kamvas pro 20 and the 22 is the size of the screen,
and because the screen is bigger in the 22 the pixels won't be as tight, correct?

well this is all a bit cart-and-horse.. i bought one yesterday (the 2019 verson), so, "HURRY UP POSTIE".. great review and drawing 😳 .. ta
So I got the kamvas 20 2019. Not the pro. It cost me 100€ less and the pro is somehow not in my country so did decide to go for the normal one because 1 month of waiting after many months of saving up to this point felt like too much. And from what I can tell, the only difference is, that I have less buttons around the tablet. Oh and I am missing the glove... Jeah thats it.
Since the kamvas 20 2019 is my first tablet, its obviously a great improvement to my phone or pen and paper. And its great fun drawing on it.
Big difference that I can say is, cant use it everywhere and you definitely have to plan your day and workspace around it to be effective.
Its really fun to use, I greatly enjoy it. While I felt burned out to having to draw on my phone before. Therefore I draw more. Is there any other difference from the normal 20 2019 to the pro that I am missing because it feels awesome and I cant complain about the heat or paralax or being not precisely calibrated(damaged?). Mine works flawlessly and I recommend it to everyone, so much bang for your buck. I even played ps4 on it, just flawless in everything.

Also how is it compared to wacom 16 or the wacom pro 16?
i bought one like 2-3 weeks ago and have 100+ hours on it already and i can say there is 0 parallax, and i have never drawn on a wacom but from what i have read the only true big difference is it is the huion is not a IPS moniter.but if u have another moniter for color picking it is not a big deal at all and i do not even relize have the time. also there is a big difference in the cinq pro is a 4k display and this is a 1080, but again if u have a second moniter that is 2-4k u will not even care, because u r saving about $1000 off the wacom cintq pro, but if $1000 is pocket change go for the wacom. hope this helps m8 cheers

@@WaniArman I have one too,saying it has no parallax is just a blatant lie to be honest.The screen is not laminated and as such there's quite a big gap between the screen and the actual image,and it is noticeable in my experience,other than that it is really a great tablet,the drawing experience is great,even though the color accuracy is pretty lackster

I own one, and I will say it is an awesome tablet but needs to be fiddled with by calibrating it out of the box and you dont calibrate it in a straight forward manner you off center to the upper left on every dot and than you get virtually no parallax, but if calibrate it dead on the red dots the cursor will off a little to the upper left. You also will have to tweek the colors a bit. It an awesome tablet though
