The thing that pisses me off the most is clearly the dude's wife, daughter and family in law either hate him or don't respect him at all. They act like getting rid of him would be the best thing for them and are happy about it. Then he finds out and they start acting sad only because he found out. The wife, daughter, sister in law and mother in law are terrible people and I hope the dude doesn't have to pay a single penny to them in the divorce because of this.

well. the daughter was becoming direspectful at the age of 8 way before the affair meaning she learned it from the gold diggers family. the child can not always be blamed for being disrespectful or mean or how you call when a child gets everything she wants.
With bit of red pill knowledge one can see red flags. this story is full of clear signs of that family was milking guy raw. Tons of red flags years on. Cheating was happening most likely from early on in marriage.
The sad thing is, when you are being too nice, people will start taking your kindness for granted (or even perceived it as weakness)...

What a absolutely disgusting betrayal by the wife and the whole family. They wasted years of his life when they didn't want him and all he wanted was to BE wanted. I really feel bad for this guy. He did everything right only to be treated like a nuisance and a ATM. I still find it hard that his own daughter would do this to him. What the hell is wrong with that kid. The worst part is that it happen for 4 years. I would have screen shotted the text messages and sent it to myself just so I have evidence for the divorce. I know it won't be possible but I would get out of paying child support in this case since clearly they considered the other guy her father, so have him raise the kid, since the kid also doesn't want the OP as the father. I have a hard time wrapping my brain around the idea that not just one broken individual is this devoid of humanity and compassion that they could do something like this........ but an entire family. This guy's entire family has no qualms whatsoever about doing all of this to him while laying claim to his home, his inheritance, his income, his time/energy/affection, even his grief. They took it all, gave nothing back, openly disrespected him, and brought an absolute loser in as an emotional surrogate husband/father/son-in-law with open arms..... with love they couldn't manage to muster for man who dedicated his life to their happiness. What could compel an entire family to believe that this is acceptable? Why would they be in a marriage with a man that they have no respect for? I don't understand how that's even possible.

After knowing the entire story I can't help but feel that the Op should slowly reconnect with the daughter simply because the daughter was eight when it first happened and she was always with the mother and the mother-in-law so there was obviously gossip and obviously horrible talk about the OP. I understand that what she did is awful and horrible but she did grow up with it and was taught it. To me sometimes kids get taken away by the fun of stuff because obviously she was going on girls trips and spending money and seeing her mother happy. I personally don't agree that it is the OP fault because he even states that he actively tries to amend it while everything is still happening, to me it seemed like victim blaming, I don't blame the OP for having such pain, and could never forgive the daughter but she made a mistake and she's trying to fix it my only suggestion would be to slowly let her back in at your pace. It's a family took advantage I honestly do believe that while the actions of this daughter was heartless it was all she knew and all she was demonstrated from by the only people that gossiped, criticized, critique and argued. If she keeps reaching out apologizing trying to make things right I think you should give her a warning and state that if anything happens like that again she will be permanently cut out of his life.

the op is rather stupid, shit seems to be one sided the second the OPs father passed away. and he just kept begging to make amends with the wife, which she was clearly manipulative the whole time, he didn't destroy his family the wife did, a long long time ago. Well to be fair, when you find out you’ve been betrayed and lied to for 4 years, you don’t even know what to do so I find it reasonable that he didn’t email himself the evidence. The OP is stupid, he was too kind for his own good. He was trying to repair the relationship with his ex-wife and with the daughter. He didn’t think she was being manipulated by the ex because he was really busy with his work and didn’t doubt her because he trusted her. None of this is his fault, the only one who was the villain was the ex wife
