You are brave for exploring this place at 2am by yourself. I couldn’t done it. Great exploration. This place was disgusting, mushrooms growing on the carpet, bottom floor flooded.

Thank you! Glad you liked it! It was disgusting in there with plenty of roof leaks. The bottom floor was the worst by far.

@@Left_Behind0 I’m surprised it’s not condemned yet, you are brave for going on the roof. I couldn’t go to the bottom floor because of how bad is it in there.

@@slackingpacking From what I've read online, the property has already been condemned by the city. It hasn't been demolished yet because of a lawsuit from the owners and possible asbestos in the structure.

@@Left_Behind0 The mall itself is condemned but the Lazarus isn’t. Hopefully it doesn’t sit Westland.

@@slackingpacking Interesting. Figured it would be condemned given the state inside. I agree though, if the mall sits like Westland did, it may well become the new Westland.

Oh man! Bringing back some memories. My family used to shop almost exclusively at Lazarus. For everything. Clothes, furniture, decor. I remember the big giant cloth Talking Tree there at Eastland Lazarus, me and my brother used to love sticking our arms in his mouth while he talked lol. I also remember that upper floor. It used to be where they had their furniture and decor. And when I was about 3-5 yrs old they had this giant lion statue sitting on one of the corners, after you went up the escalator and walked down the main aisle some. I was PETRIFIED of that thing. Used to make my grandpa hold me if we had to pass it. Otherwise he would take me around the long way to avoid it. lol. My aunt also used to waitress in the restaurant. It was really cool, the dining room used to overlook the mall down below. From what I remember, it went over it like a bridge. It was always very crowded. They used to hand out the best coloring books and crayons to the kids at the restaurant. I loved going there. Many many years of childhood memories here.

There was a restaurant upstairs in the Lazarus department store.

Nothing lasts forever. What was a state of the art beautiful building bustling with people is now a moldy mess nobody wants and serves no needs left to rot in the dark until it's put out of it's pain by the wrecking ball. Too bad, that's how it works out sometimes.

Ahh why would you walk on an abandoned, unmaintained escalator! They don't get inspected enough when in service let alone abandoned for over a decade!
