Thank you! Great walkthrough and tips on some Amazon goodies. I suspect anyone who buys one of your used vehicles is getting a pampered car. Getting my 2024 TRD Off Road Premium in a few weeks and this is very helpful. It is so odd to not have auto-on headlights. I will miss that. A small negative for a reliable car that allows us to get off road.
What’s funny is that I have the exact same vehicle same model
2023 runner off road premium plus same everything and I just sat 40 min watching the video when I could of gone outside and see it myself for the 100th time since I bought it back in may 😂😂
Got the exact one in Electric Lime for my wife. We love it. The only things missing: dual auto climate control, memory seats, remote start from fob (purchased an aftermarket - cheap and easy), missing from the Toyota app - no door lock, no start. Probably never miss they but I previously had a Tacoma TRD Pro and a 4runner Limited. Great Video, Thanks!
Just bought a 2023 TRD Off Road Premium. Due in august. Thanks for the excellent video!
Great video, covered many things. Well done! THANK YOU!
@Wamps - Thanks much! Forgot to cover the MTS/CC and MTM functions. New to this… I’ll get better. 😊
Thanks for the video Josh. I just signed for my 2023 4Runner TRD Off-Road... this was very helpful to learn the lay of the land. Thanks Again!
Great job quickly getting the angles to show the equipment.
Thanks, Josh, for sharing your great video. It’s helping me a lot affirm my decision to switch from a modern turbocharged compact SUV to the tried and tested midsize NA Toyota 4Runner. Appreciate it very much.
Great video. I just purchased a 2024 4RUNNER TDR Off Road Premium. Your video covered everything I need to know about my 4RUNNER...saved me a lot of reading.
Great review. You’re also a very polite man I can tell! Thanks for the vid 👍
Congratulations on your purchase. It's a beautiful beast. Lunar Rock and White are my favorite choices.
Picking up a ‘22 TRD OR on Friday. I’m in Canada and noticed we get a few things automatic with the TRD Off Road package: dual climate, sunroof, KDSS, automatic lights, etc. being a smaller market than the US, Toyota just creates one package only for Canada, which includes all the goodies.
Great video! Very helpful for making my purchase decision.
Great video, little tip as a fellow 2023 ORP+ owner. Remove the hitch ball when not towing. If you get rear ended, their is a much higher chance it bends your frame and totals your 4Runner (insurance Agent 10+ Years) Awesome truck BTW!!! Congrats!!
Thanks for the advice. I was more concerned with the bumper to bumper type of traffic and rear tap. Hoping it will save my plastic bumper. I appreciate your input. I have since removed the ball hitch when I'm not towing and instead have a short shackle hitch for recovery.
Been in the industry for over 25 years and folks don’t understand this. My father still drives with his hitch in for the same reason, he swears it will help him but in reality, it could cause more harm than good.
Sweet looking 4 runner, we have the 2021 TRD Pro 4 runner and couldn’t be happier.I hope you enjoy yours.
Well done video! Thanks!
There is a glove box light, I discovered. But it only comes on when you have your night time driving lights on
great informative video, thx
Excellent video.
Have the same in lunar rock….. was surprised when I did two very early oil changes at 700km and 1300km. Lots of metal……. Next change I did was 2400km no metal, almost 5000km now and will do another change on the weekend and am switching to 5w30 , I have done the same with our other vehicles that were a 0w20 weight with no issue.
really good video, I get my ORP at the end of the month so this has helped me understand a lot before it comes in. The one that gets me is the lack of auto on/off headlights...it does have auto dimmers, but not on/off ??? hmmm. also, now I'm wondering without the panorama-trail camera if I get the heated steering wheel....
@Jennifer Cowick - You’re so correct! Thank you for pointing that out!! Yay!
Great look 4Runner. I have a '22 Limited in Black. I am contemplating buying a new TRD OffRoad Premium Plus. Sharp looking package. Like the lower level of exterior chrome and the interior with the carbon fiber trims pieces from the factory.
Great video. I ended up getting my wife a 2023 ORP+ Ice Cap end of April 23 (Toyota of Irving) and for me a 2023 ORP+ Classic Silver Metallic end of June 23 (Toyota of Lewisville). Ended up paying below MSRP for both including there dealer ad-ons. No KDSS on either.
Highly recommend both dealerships. I had to fight for a good deal and be a little patient in the negotiation! I waited for nearly a month to get my 4R after settling in on the price.
@frankwhite4157, did you have to factory order or those were already in their stock ? I am surprised that you bought those ORP below MSRP. I factory ordered thru Toyota of Ft Worth and they are telling me their add-on must be purchased even though car is still in build phase...I should have begun with T of Irving or Lewisville....Thanks !
Great video. Waiting for the TRD ORP in Lunar Rock for my wife. Should be at our dealer in mid June as we already were given a VIN from the dealer. I believe the spec is the same with possibly a few extra port installed items we didn't want but just have to accept as part of the deal I guess. She keeps vehicles for a long time and doesn't like too much tech so I think this will be a good fit for her. 👍 Thanks for taking the time to make this video. BTW: we wear the same Crocs. 🐊🐊
@siafu66 - Lunar Rock? That’s awesome! That color is going to be a classic. Yeah, the PIOs suck since we can’t change it. Your wife is going to love it. She sounds like a practical and wise person. Hope you guys have some grand adventures in the 4Runner and forge awesome memories! Same Crocs? You have very good taste and refinement in fashion!😂 Take care!

We just bought a 2023 TDRORP in lunar rock. Waited 2.5 months for it. It is in my opinion the sharpest suv out there. I plan on driving it for 15 years. I am forever a Toyoya owner
@@tgfishes9374 two and a half months was nothing, we waited nearly a year. Finally ours came in and it is glorious. Just a very nice vehicle all around. However, I was a little disappointed with the fact that as full featured as it was, it did not come with remote start. I think at this stage of the game Toyota should include remote start on higher spec models. I also feel that the running boards are a little awkward. I think they were the running boards for the limited model but were a PIO and I don't really think they're given enough room for your toes to step on the board properly. It seems to be like an awkward way that you have to train yourself to get into the vehicle to sit down. My only other gripe was that it did not have wireless Android auto. However I was able to purchase that Motorola m1 dongle and that seems to really work well. The user interface is a little awkward but overall the core functionality is there. We're hoping that this is going to last 12 to 15 years in the Northeast with our salt and terrible roads.
Nice truck
Thanks 👍 I’m really enjoying it. Many mods and upgrades to follow.
Nice video- does ice cap have a clear coat on it?
The running boards are for aesthetics. They make the 4Runner and every other SUV look significantly better. More finished and gives it a more muscular / grounded stance.
I just picked mine up yesterday. 2023 TRD ORP with the plus package and KDSS. I hope the KDSS lasts
Would you mind sharing what you paid for it? It will help me a lot
@@andyking4701$50K. I got it thru the Costco Auto Program for $500 below invoice. Hope that helps.
I have a 2013 with kdss and works as good now as new
It would have been helpful if you could have taken the time to fold the 2nd row seat completely down to demonstrate the size of the load area in the back. Guys with dogs may rarely have the 2nd row up and use the flat load area most of the time.
Es una joya
I agree with you with putting the trailer hitch on the back. The only problem is some knucklehead won't pay attention, hit is leg on it and he is going to kick your vehicle
@I know better - LOL! Didn’t think about that one. I’ve hit my knees a few time myself!
@@ADW4RNR Pad lock it on there or someone will be taking it home with them. 😉
Nice video and car. I don’t understand the unlocking gas cap after all this time.
I don’t know why I called it the “unlocking” gas cap. I should have said “non-locking.” 😂
Be nice to others and no one will put sugar in your gas tank.
if it were only that simple @@reecec8490
Thanks. i know now not to get the Premium and go w the TRD Pro instead.
Some iq’s need work. The pro is a marketing joke. If it doesn’t have kdss it’s inferior.
You have some stuff my 2018 could not even get as an option. Rip your steps off and replace with proper rock sliders if you intend to do moderate OR stuff. Or that useless step will become an obstacle of its own. Take them off and sell them to a mall crawler. lol I ordered my rig w/out the steps so I could mount rock sliders on. Only modification I have in fact. I have Dunlops and still do in fact. They get bad reviews from a lot of people, but you know what? They have taken me everywhere I used to go on M/T's. Year round, multi terrain use. 22MPG on the highway. They are obviously not a dedicated anything tire. Other than year round use. But they have done right by me so much so, I am considering the replacement be the same tire. But I am also thinking KO2's as I have never tried those and they do get good reviews. Want to do something fun? Drive down to your beach, put the vehicle in 4H and gun it. Bury the thing down to the frame. All 4 corners. Flip it into 4L, turn on Crawl Control, sit back and watch it dig itself out. It is a hoot. Be patient. I think it takes about 3 minutes or so. I promise it will get itself out of the holes. Just don't high center on driftwood or anything like that. If you are curious what it looks like, go to Overland Pacific Northwest youtube videos. I have made my own proof too, but theirs are better. Enjoy.
I would not have purchased all these add-ons but they came factory equipped and also as port installed options. I’ve already bought some rock sliders so you’re right, I’m gonna rip off those running boards and sell them. Plan to turn this rig into a light/medium duty overlander. I watch those brothers from Oregon on UA-cam and find their videos informative and enjoyable. Peace!
I got mine 2 weeks ago. Its identical to your 4Runner, color and all..
@Hector Ortegon - Congrats, Hector! Love to see my fellow Ice Cap 4Runners out on the road. 4Runner Stormtroopers unite!

Just FYI. Wireless Apple Car Play leverages WiFi, not Bluetooth.
The 2024 doesn’t get the wireless Apple Car play much less auto start and or auto start vid Toyota app.
@@fredperiquet1476 I never said it did.
I'm getting the same color but 2020 with just 20000 miles
How much Maggie?
im on the fence of this or just the TRD off road. im buying used if i get one and it doesn't seem like there's too much of a price difference. im in Texas so i probably wouldn't use the heated options too much but those few months we get cold would make them useful. i am single so i don't have the female complaints of being cold.
Me gusta Runner para xavier
Where did you get the TRD ORD badge at the back? I really want that for my 4Runner. we have a same car I bought mine last year December 27 and I have almost 5k miles. Please can you tell me where did you get your badge at the back. Mahalo
I actually used a "TRD PRO" badge. I found one on eBay and I just rearranged to the P-R-O to spell O-R-P. Hope that helps.
Beautiful Truck! Will you be able to tell us what you paid for this? Even if its a ballpark. Im in the market and have no clue on the pricing on these. Thx
@andyking4701 - $50K. I purchased it through the Costco Auto Program and got it for $500 below invoice.
@@ADW4RNR Did you get it from Manhattan Beach, CA? I saw the license plate frame and would be willing to drive out there
I’m buying a 2021 trd off road premium, with kdss and moonroof, super white, 33k miles for $38,000 right after Christmas. I’d rather have the $12,000 savings over zero miles. If you know the history of the truck jus5 remember it’s aTOYOTA!
The price is crazy insane right now
They really are I got fuc over but really wanted it so bad so I bough it …. The financial was were it’s at smh and I have a 800 credit score that didn’t shit to the dealerships
@jimmi8928 and the 2024 came out 😆🤣 got rear ended hard there. Damn dealership!
Even rwd 4runners are well over 40k where I live
@ifwgs my 07 4wd FJ cruiser just reached 192k miles and was thinking bout selling it cuz I just saw a V8 4runner up for sale.
It’s the dollar dying. In the next few years Toyota will be sending less Japan built rigs to America. They are going to sop talking ious from a bankrupt Uncle Sam. Watch
HELLO EVERY BOD, I AM CONSIDERING TO BUY 4 RUNNER 2023. DO YOU THINK IS BEST IDEA VS LEXUS GX 550 ? THANK YOU
If updated electronics and a level up on luxury is your thing then the GX550 for sure. But you will be dealing with turbos and a 4-banger (maybe with hybrid). - If you want a naturally aspirated V-6 engine you can work on at home for years to come and tried and true transmission and overall reliability, then get the 2023 4Runner. It will be your last chance…
Where did you get Trd orp badge ?
@starwarnerd - I got them off eBay. Ordered the”TRD pro” badge and just re-organized the p-r-o in reverse to o-r-p when I stuck it on the back. Sneaky, I know, but why should the TRD pro folks get all the glory. The Off-Road is a “TRD” too!
Scamazon! Duh lol
could have benefited from a demo of the MTM
You’re absolutely correct! I was going to cover that and the MTS/Crawl Control but a phone call from the wife (which I didn’t answer) threw me off pace. 😂 Wives can do that! Thanks for your view and comment.
No front facing camera?
It is there. Did you FF through the video?
The front camera is just above the front TSS radar plate. (39:31)
Only one USD audio port?
There’s the one on the center stack, which connects to the Apple Play/Android Auto. One in the center armrest console, and two USB-C ports in the second row center floor beneath the vents. So, 4 total.
thanks, does the ones in the armrest transmit audio/data?@@ADW4RNR
@@ADW4RNR just got mine, curious where do you see the one inside the center console??
So what did you pay for this?
KDSS and you got a better truck than the pro
The KDSS is worth every penny! On road stability and OR articulation. LOVE mine. Purposely checked that box off after trying out rigs with out it.
Absolutely. The pro is a marketing joke.
I originally shopped for the Pro but the mark-ups were ridiculous! Plus I wanted KDSS and the TRD ORP+ is the top trim you can get with KDSS.
Unless if youre a soccer mom, 75% of people who have a 4Runner take off rubbing boards.
I love the 4 Runner but the climate control is just extremely stupid and crappy for a TRD ORP vehicle that costs over 50K. That looks like something in the most base model you should buy. To only get dual zone climate control in the TRD Pro or Limited which nobody wants, is just crappy on Toyota’s part. Makes me love the Tundra even more
It's an off road vehicle you will get over it
@@America1st69 But the most off road version, the TRD Pro has it, right? And you’re telling me people buy the 4 Runner for just off roaring? Lol. I see them everywhere, with mostly women driving them around town. I love my Toyota, but it’s dumb to just be a fan boy and can’t admit when they make a mistake. It’s a miss on Toyota’s part.
@Max Crawford - I feel your sentiment. Toyota should have updated many things for +$50K truck. I guess it’s part of the deal when the trade-off is reliability. Personally, I love the chunky, basic climate controls. My gripe is with the no driver grab handle on the A-pillar and none for the passengers either on the B-pillar. My 2002 Sequoia had grab handles all around and she is 21 years old! C’mon Toyota!😮😅
@@maxcrawford8684 dual zone climate is standard in all of the trims even base one in Canada. Not sure why they take that out for USA
If you have ever had to deal with the Highlander climate control panel, you will appreciate the simple knob system!!
