Actually, love and prefer these keyboards. Always gave me a "typewriter feel." I like getting the haptic-like feedback from the keys. Amazon and eBay actually sell these keyboards. I brought one called, Key-U-Can-See (for my aging eyes) and it gives that same "old school vibe." Feels like I'm really chugging away while at work. Of course, the noise can annoy others. ⌨️🤫🤭
I loved this game! Computer class in middle School 7th &8th grade early 1990's ! Man this brings back better days to mind... Thank you a million for this share my friend...
If your childhood didn't consist of Oregon trail. You missed out.. they can try to replicate us with our clothes but IDK anyone that has a working, old-school Macintosh computer.. and kids nowadays would be so underwhelmed and be like, why the hell did you like this game? this is lame😂💯✌️
Played it before there were graphics. Such a great memory. My second or third grade class even played a non-computer version of this when only the text based version existed. Teams of three or four kids made up each wagon train. We played in turns. Up to a few per day. Had a large, hand-drawn map that was kept hidden behind the pull-down world map. When the teacher would reveal that map before the end of class was the highlight of my day. We even played a few more games with other themes that used huge maps. A gold rush game and a fantasy game (similar to d&d 0e).
If it was an Apple //e Platinum, an apple logo would not be on the case. Instead, black text imprinted on the case that reads “Apple IIe” would be there.
Oh my goodness I had this vary same game as a kid I grew up playing it constantly. I loved playing it all the time . I whould reserve computer time just so I could play this. Classic Retro. Epic awesome. Much love my friend.
That disk seek sound is sooo nostalgic to me. We had a bunch of apple II computers in my elementary school computer room and like 4 windows PCs. I had a windows PC at home so that was great but rhe Apple’s were always an enigma to me. Like how did it work with no GUI? blew my mind back then. Obviously I know now that they run on basic which was on its way out long before I saw it in the 90s but I always loved everything about those computers and still do!
❤ I mean, I always liked Oregon trail, however, I can hardly fathom why indeed it was the killer app that got ingrained so popularly, except that maybe because we rarely had enough time sufficient to finish the game in the time allotted to being in the computer lab, it’s ending left much mystery to the imagination. I can only count on one hand how many times I or anyone else successfully made it to the end, before being lined up to go back to regular classroom work. I think I enjoyed Spellevator, more because of it’s platform of elements, and spelling was really easy for me to return to the platform of elements.
This brings back alot of memories I remember playing oregon trail back in the 80's and all of 90s in middle & high school, wish we all could back to the simpler days when life was much easier to live but 1 thing now I will never change my family just bring them back to the simpler days if we could this my kids can see what life is really about not the crap today.
Wow.. I haven’t set eyes on a pc that old since I was in grade school. I haven’t even seen one on UA-cam until this very video. I’m 37 now, but this just made me feel 7 years old for a minute …
I’m from the UK and even we played Oregon trail. It’s my favourite. I just wish they would do a compilation of all the Oregon trail games as I miss playing some of the windows versions.
this, word munchers were my 2 favorite games on the apple 2 at school. then we got a commodore 64 with oregon trail and tons of other games and i was forever hooked by the computer and video games.

This was done on an Apple //e Enhanced, according to the small label that says “65C02” on the power indicator.
If it was an Apple //e Platinum, an apple logo would not be on the case. Instead, black text imprinted on the case that reads “Apple IIe” would be there.
If you were my teacher for high school I would love to visit a classroom like yours
Man, this tech in school and reading rainbow the show was some things in life I enjoyed growing up on. Miss the simple times…
I love the background music, it's like opening a time portal to the 80's 😢

My first experience was this right here, an outdated computer when I played it too. It was a great experience regardless.
Even in elementary school in the late 80s, this was our entire computer lab. A dozen of those drives knocking and keys clicking. Bliss.
Core childhood memory; unlocked.

I play this on a website I found with the original 90s version of the game

Why does that type of music so well with that stuff, even though it's Frutiger Aero style!
