In this video, we compare Fracture Glass Prints, Shutterfly Glass Prints, and Shutterfly Acrylic Prints to see which are the best for resolution, color, quality, and other factors such as transparency, edge quality, and stand/hanging mechanism.
Fracture Glass Prints are unique because it is printed directly on to the glass, and then backed with an opaque white to make the colors pop. Shutterfly Glass Prints are printed on the glass but are still translucent so light can shine through it. Shutterfly Acrylic Prints are high-quality prints affixed to a piece of acrylic which provides almost a 3D look from the side.

I purchased a Sony A7R3 full-frame digital camera with a 43-megapixel sensor. I had a Fracture print done and the detail on the print utilized the high number of pixels perfectly. It is a beautiful print with stunning detail.

I have just received my first glass print from Fracture and it was spectacular. As you pointed out it is somewhat pricy, but if you're looking to display your photos in a classy manner on a wall, then I would choose Fracture. I really don't want to deal with or worry about backlighting, although for certain pictures it would certainly enhance the beauty of them.
Like your stuff. Can you suggest a POD company that does large tempered glass wall art (larger than posters)?
Did you take the back off the fracture photo . Mine is black. Is it difficult to remove or do you request from fracture no Backing.
Have you compared Fracture vs. Masterpix? Masterpix uses Gorilla Glass, which would be thinner and much lighter weight than Fracture -- I would think. I believe they have a similar print process, but don't have the black backing, and different wall mounting methods. I would be interested in your opinion/comparison.

I am actually thinking it would be great to get the Shutterfly glass print to cover a window that looks out on concrete (for someone who lives in a basement apt). The print would be lit by the window & give the illusion it is looking out at the landscape on the print - &, to help it add to the illusion, it would automatically adjust to "daytime" & "nighttime" or "sunny" & "cloudy"... What is your opinion on that? Do you think it would work? Does the print the color for that? Thanks!

How do you hang a big acrylic print (30x40)? I bought two prints and (supposedly) didn't hit the button for a hanging system on the back of them online! The company wouldn't send me any info or links except saying I can find all the hardware at artist stores and home depot. What good does that do me? I am NOT a DIY person!

I keep seeing TV commercials for fracture and I don't get how printing on glass even works and I didn't know Shutterfly has that service I have done Shutterfly before.
It's probably just me -- but where is the option on Shutterfly for an acrylic *without* the silver dots in the corners?

A little bummed the resolution of fracture appears to be significantly lower than industry standard acrylic prints. Acrylic scratches if you look at it wrong, so I thought I had finally found the solution.
Are glass prints weatherproof? I want to place one in my cat's grave. Thanks

If U live on Canada be careful ordering from Fracture my sister ordered 2 small prints for our parents for Christmas and even tho its in the U.S. she didn't think 2 small prints & a stand waz gonna be $90 not including the invoice from fed ex sayin she owes them $20 after already paying $23USD for shipping and handling. I checked on a converter $66.52USD is $84.53CAD not $90.

I don't like fracture in that you can't use a file larger than 32meg in size. I have a High Resolution Image and want that detail in my print. Glass or otherwise. I would love to have glass but not from Shutter Fly.
So my choice is none of the above.
The back peeled off both of my fractures, never buying one again.

The shutterfly acrylic is by far the best, the upclose "noise" created by the glass print process on the fracture isnt as nice, and the shutterfly glass looks terrible
