Thanks for the nice video! You have great patience! I feel yore pain! PB Blaster on stubborn bolts/nuts.Especially those cadmium plated ones on Japanese cars. 👍 We have an '09 Fit Sport that's been a great little car. Has started making a short-duration (1/2 second?) screeching noise right at cold start. Consensus seems to be probably a worn starter/bendix, so I'm prolly gonna have to watch your vid many times! Thanks, again! Cheers!
I have the same screech at start. I think I’ll wait until the oil change is due so I can get the oil filter out of the way when changing the starter. I saw another video where you can access the wiring much easier without the filter in the way…and probably not snap the oil sensor 😂
@@jhermagnemcdaniels6380Having done this, be sure to unplug the oil pressure sensor. There's no need to remove it, but you will probably break the connector if you leave it plugged in. You need every bit of clearance you can get. The hardest part was removing the stuck plastic electrical connector on the old starter. (This step took me an hour.)
The defective starter might've been replace with a touch of threadlocking. Pro tip, test any new electrical part if possible before even disassembling.
My GF's 2010 Honda Fit just turned over to 200K and the underside honestly looks almost brand new. No leaks, no drips, no rust. It is really amazing. Any American car I've had past 200K usually at LEAST has valve cover oil drips and/or some rear main seepage and/or some power steering hose leakage, etc.
Ooh plugs and coil packs yep changed mine 2 months ago #2#3 plugs were loose and 1 coil was burnt luckily they didn’t blow out. Honda recommends new torque setting for plugs 20ft/lbs
Great video I’m going to try to tackle this myself but I already did the plugs and coil packs and it is not an eight hour job lol you could probably do it in less than two hours. You have to take off the cowel and wipers and motor. Also about this starter, if you take out the oil filter, the starter will come out munch easier.
What state do you live in? How is it possible that your 2009 Honda Fit is all rust free? Does your wife only drive when it's sunny outside and your car garaged in all that time? every piece of metal on my 2010 Honda Fit looks brown and rusted but yours is all silverish
Hi i cant find ANY information anywhere about how to replace the specific STARTER TO BATTERY CABLE for honda fit (2012). Everyone talks about replacing starter or replacing battery terminals but nothing about the battery cable that goes down all the way to the starter. Can you help?
Im in the uk so its called honda jazz here but my 2009 model has started making a scraping noise when starting the engine . The noise is the same as when you turn the key too far by mistake when you dont realise you already started the engine . I think it could be the starter on the way out . Its been doing it for about a year and im starting to worry about the flywheel😢. Anything else that could be the cause ? My fit / jazz currently has a denso starter .

I'm getting the same occasional screech when cold. If it gets much worse, I'm going to replace.

My 09 is a rusted mess thanks to road salt. Catalytic converter and middle muffler had to be replaced.

We live in Texas and we drive it all the time even in the rain.
Always check the battery isn’t going out first
