As a little kid I fell in love with movies and stories like the Thief of Baghdad, Sinbad, Arabian Nights, etc. I've always had a strong attraction to the beauty and mystery in this music. Recently I have thought I'd like to listen to some but didn't know where to start and things have been busy. But today this just came out of nowhere in my feed and I knew it was for me. I feel happy and blessed to find this! Thank you and God bless you for sharing this magic with the world.

ربما لأنها نشأت في قلب الصحراء بأدوات بسيطة لأشخاص رُحّل يطوفون في الأودية الساكنة للجزيرة العربية.. كانوا ممتلئين بالمشاعر الهادئة.. وهكذا كانت أدواتهم الموسيقية مثل العود والقانون والناي صوت ألحانها وأوتارها توقظ الرحالة في الليالي المظلمة في عمق الصحراء وهم جالسين حول مدفأة النار تحت النجوم..
وعندما دخل العرب بلاد أفريقيا وآسيا والأندلس أمتزجت تلك الأدوات والألحان ليصير لفن الموسيقى العربي طعم آخر.. أكثر عمقاً وجمالاً..

I was born in Baghdad and moved away at the age of 7. Growing up in America was somewhat fun and had a bright side of things but I do always miss that beautiful mythical mysterious side of the middle east. Sinbad, Alladin, and One Thousand and One Nights, "Shahrazad". The culture is stunning, and it just gives me goosebumps in a good way. Too bad I didn't grow up there, sometimes I feel like I have a missing puzzle piece. Although I'm extremely happy that I can relate when watching those Arab movies/ cartoons :)
