ACC | New Car, Same Old Carnage! LFM GT3 @ Monza

- I’m back! It’s my first race in three weeks, and I’m returning to Assetto Corsa Competizione for this Go Setups GT3 Sprint at Monza with Low Fuel Motorsport.
It’s a new LFM season so I’ve decided to try a brand new car…. while Ferraris and McLarens seem to be the most popular choices, I’m giving the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 a try for the first time.
And if qualifying is anything to go by, the Lambo may just suit me quite well. I’m car #13, but I’ll be starting from P6 on the grid… only 0.7 off Nick Wask in pole position.
Will I have the race pace to match? Well, Monza is always lethal so it’s going to be tough. I’d love to get a top five in my ACC LFM return, but anything inside the top 10 will be decent.

I don't really drive ACC but in iRacing the Lambo is my go to GT3 and it doesn't seem to have much love there either 😅
Thank you mate, yeah the Lambo gets a big thumbs up from me. Even if it was a dog to drive (which it’s not), I’d still choose it again for the sounds alone!

Yeah, I guess survival was an achievement in itself! Happy enough with P7 for sure. Only 2 places below where I could have finished. Good luck, when you get out there!

The thing with Monza is you need good consistency, not so much good pace. It seems like an easy track but it is very technical and one minor change of the racing line could lead to spinning, crashing and etc. But I see you got that consistency in you and only thing I can say is keep going!
PS I raced quite a lot on Monza today probably we were in same sessions but different splits. Would love to race with you!
Thank you, yeah the consistency was just about there… it certainly would have been there, without the damage. I only did the one race, it was Split 2 in the 12.15pm UK time lunchtime race, so yeah reckon I must have just missed you!
Top 10, still a great result. Bites hard when it goes wrong but you did well to keep going. Welcome back and better luck for your next race!
Thanks Andy, yeah I fully expected a mistake or two, given my lack of track time this month. Throw in the damage, and it was almost a given that I’d lose it somewhere! Enjoyed the Lambo though, seemed to suit my driving style nicely.
What a race Chris, no one was hanging around when you got ass ended on turn 1 looks like they where stopping at noting to get pass you but a big fail on their behave, because you still came out in a good position, well done mate good race after so long.
Thanks mate. To be fair to the lad, he sent me a message right after the race and apologised… he felt really bad, just got caught out on the brakes. Was a decent race, well happy with P7 all things considered.
Nice video. The amount of times i've wiped a good race pushing too hard on that final turn myself, my heart was in my mouth for a moment when you started to slide out, rescued it well 😆 I use the lambo also, love driving it 👍 I've been getting back into ACC since Nords was added. Enjoying that track immensely .
I haven’t has chance to buy Nords yet, but I’m planning to this week and I’m looking forward to getting my licence to try one of the 60min races. Will definitely be sticking with the Lambo, it seems to suit my driving style nicely. Cheers!

I’ve always struggled with cockpit views in ACC. I much prefer having hands and wheel in shot, but I just couldn’t get it the way I like it with the BMW, so had to resort to the dash cam. But the Lambo seems to have a better dashboard size, which helped me get the Cockpit cam roughly where I like it. So I’m much happier with this FoV now 👍

Cheers Ben, despite all the chaos, damage and mistakes, I only finished 2 places lower than where I would have, if I’d avoided the trouble. So not a bad shift at all. The safety rating may disagree though!

All things considered, a pretty good result! I miss driving the Lambo. It's not a popular car. And I found I was faster in it than I was in the Ferrari. Seemed like a lot of drivers were trying to win the race on the first lap or two. Bothers me seeing that kind of driving.
Yeah, I’m well impressed with the Lambo… I definitely feel more competitive in it than I did in my trusty BMW. Just seemed odd nobody else chose it. It takes the kerbs really well, which suits my style nicely!

Uhm......It's GT3s at Monza. Odds are it'll be the most expensive concertina crash ever recorded, even with good drivers.
It's like watching 30 different cubicles at NASA, each with their own rocket, trying to figure out when exactly to fire the suicide burn at the latest possible moment, and ALMOST avoid whacking into the moon.
Hilarity then ensues.

Haha yes. I guess it’s the sim racing equivalent of going out and drinking 10 pints, then wondering why I’ve got a banging head the next morning. Guess I just got complacent after surviving lap one in such good shape!
First laps on Monza always look like Wreckfest.

1) Don't race Monza
2) if you feel the urge, don't race Monza
3) and above all else, don't race Monza😏

what a farce. Seems the tactic here is qualify P1 or 2 and hope for the best, or start from the pits and give everyone half a lap to take themselves out. Monza online....not for me, I'm afraid.
Yeah, I was celebrating with how well I took T1 at the start, got it spot on and gained three places 🥳 fast forward one lap, and it all goes disastrously wrong! I thought the danger had passed, but obviously not 🤦🏻♂️🤣
Exactly, this is my experience of all online racing at the moment on Acc and ac in wss and lfm. So many people that can't race only hotlap and don't know how to avoid cars in front. Back to single player!

Yeah, it’s the most frustrating part of any sim racing. Getting punished for other people’s mistakes 😩
and of course the guy that caused all the mayhem in the first lap on turn 1 is the one who survives the whole ordeal haha.
banger video as always Chris, really unfortunate for losing it in the chicane due to the damage but at least you didn't lose any positions on the last turn. Hopefully the next one turns out to be better.
I, on the other end, have finally reached Gold Elo in LFM now marking the number spot in your team, I've really got no simracing friends, even after 2 years of racing online haha, so I'll just leave it here🎉🥳

Haha, I dunno about that! 🤣 The change in car has helped, I feel more competitive in the Lambo. And I’m sure I’d have been smoother if I wasn’t driving with damage 💪

I don't know what split that was but wow .. terrible driving standards. I love LFM but I usually Qualify top ten in split 1 or 2 and the racing is awesome. However you broke the cardinal rule my friend....NEVER race Monza.. lol.. no really never do it. I'm not touching that Monza race. 😅
Hahaha, the one piece of advice I’ve had from everyone on here is AVOID MONZA!!! 🤣 I don’t think there’s a sim racer anywhere who hasn’t been scarred by this circuit 🤣
This is why I am not gonna do Monza until I make it to a pro series where I have no choice.

I don't understand why you still bother with LFM. I used to race in LFM since 2021 when it was at its early stages and the driving standards have been plummeting ever since it started becoming popular. I ended up quitting it altogether since the odds of having a clean race are extremely low at the moment. I guess you may be more patient or optimistic than I am.
Haha yeah I always live in hope! Patience has been tested on more than one occasion, but really I’m limited with any alternative options for when I like to race… in the daytime. I’ve found some other decent ACC platforms, but the races are in the evenings when I very rarely get time in the rig. So it’s daytime or nothing for me, mostly.
I disagree with this. I almost always get clean races on LFM. I am surprised Chris had such a bad one but sometimes it happens. It is not different from the rest of online sim racing, first you need to get out of Rookie, and then it gets much cleaner but never perfect
@@marcosicolo4542Yeah, I’ve had some horror shows in LFM but I’d certainly say the good races have outweighed the bad. I reckon the split is around 60% good races vs 40% bad races. Compare it to somewhere like iRacing, where it’s 40/60 the other way around.
Lambo shouldn't be uncompetitive because it gets boped.
Yeah, I thought it felt really competitive. I’d only done a few practice laps in it, but had pretty good pace (for my ability) straight away. Just surprised that nobody else was choosing it!

Definitely a little rust showing there, but also a bit of bad luck getting tagged in T1. :) Good to have you back on the Tube .
Haha yeah, I was blaming the damage for my mistakes, but actually, even with damage I managed a couple of lap times that were the same as I did in qualifying. So I think it was rust, just as much as damage, that caused those blips 🤣
