Every shop needs a Randy, always there to help on every project, and when everyone else is stood around talking Randy is sweeping up. Respect to him.
Excellent comment 100% 👍🏻
We've got a Randy at the quarry I work at, hus name actually is Randy too. Always there to help, does his job just fine, super dependable.
OUCH -- I have a 95 Dodge Ram Cummins with a manual tranny I bought new with 320K miles -- Replaced the clutch at 250k -- usually the automatic trans have problems.
Absolutely, love seeing Randy in the videos
Randy is a good helper for sure👍👍👍
Randy seems like a all around handy man he doesn't seem to mind whatever you give him to do he gets right in their and helps Randy give Kevin a few lessons 😮 😊😊😊thanks guys
Randy is Wise Beyond His Years!
Kevin works too.
You can’t beat randy!

@@how_to_hallagon1 Kevin doesnt do shit he needs to be more like Randy. Randy deserves the world
I wasn't surprised to see you tackle this, but without a parts explosion to show what goes where it is a more difficult task. As you pointed out, taking it apart is the easy half of the repair. I am eager to see you get it all back together and working. I expect to see you driving it soon.
Great content, yeah, keep doing stuff like this. Not a Ford or Dodge fan, but I dig the technology put into these things these days and seeing them being worked on instead of just plug and play is educational for me at least
I really enjoy watching you take things apart and put them back together. Fascinating and educational
At least someone does lol
Count me in too - therapeutic for me after a full day of crazy stress. Thank you for content and helping some like me to decompress safely.
Really enjoy this type of video Clint! Have seen tons of automatic transmission teardowns but your Manual was really interesting to see. Hope it goes back together ok and your up and running again soon. Love your banter with Kevin but enjoyed seeing Randy stepping in. He is a heck of a worker. Well done. PS I had to laugh when you said you didn't know if you were going to tear it down...I knew that there was no way we weren't seeing the inside of that transmission!! LOL
I can't believe there is not some kind of a metal mesh on the breather hole to prevent rodent or some other infestation getting in there. We have faith in you getting this done. 👍
.....it's no wonder so many vehicles catch fire for "no reason" & never figured out why......
Really great content. hard to believe there's that many little parts all assembled in there. The engineering that goes into something like a 6 speed transmission just amazes me.
Love the varied content videos that you do Clint , keep it up 👌Thanks for the share 😊
randy is old school.. never stand around. grab a broom..keep on truckin..my kind of man... well done..
Yep always
"Bud Light tranny!"
That made me laugh way too hard!
I love the way you guys are not afraid to tie into whatever the problem might be awesome job great video. Thanks for sharing.😊
Amazing content as always..Clint your never one to shy away anything no matter what it is this carnage is no different and to think mice did the damage...have a talk with the cats when you get home and discuss disciplinary actions for them not doing there job. 🤣 Hope it's not to costly to get it back together and look forward to your next video.. always a pleasure to watch and always learning by your example. Appreciate all you share😎🛠️🇺🇸🚜🔧🐁
I'd guess you can't blame the cats because the truck is parked outside where the cat's aren't. I'd definitely MacGyver a mouse proof screen for the vent though.
I think I'd be putting some hardware cloth over that vent hole to keep the mouse turds out in the future.
I find this type of video utterly fascinating in spite of the fact that i will never attempt such a repair!
Glad you documented all this. Might double check with your insurance... comprehensive insurance should cover it if it is caused by wild animals. Appreciate all the videos and sharing your wealth of information!
I like seeing that! Thanks for another great video for my boring Saturday!
My those Rodents certainly cause some carnage to vehicles & equipment.
Great video by the way, love to see you Guys getting in to some serious tear-down, and repair projects.
All the best from the Robin Hood County in the U.K.
Had a nissan mechanic pull fill hose out of washer reservoir and then quoted over $100 to replace leaking washer reservoir that he made happen. I removed the 10mm bolt, lifted the reservoir neck up and put it back in place. 2 minutes to fix a problem tech caused to increase sales in service.
Stripping and rebuilding major elements are some of the most interesting, looking forward to the rebuild. Nice one.
From an old man: You have a wonderful way that you deal with people, respect and deferance for Randy goes a long way in my estimation.
Wash Guy Randy is handy around the shop, looks like he is right there with a helping hand. I'm eager to see the assembly half coming up. Thanks again for the eductional video, 😂👍Mr. C.
You made it
Farther than mine did. My brand new 2023 3500 Ram made it 2600 miles. Transmission toast. And now it’s down and they don’t know when they will be able to get the parts to fix it
For a wArranty voided truck with 21k and not a single hot check mark on the pressure plate, flywheel or spacer plate sure says a lot about your driving habits.. 👏👏👏👏
I love to see somebody else fumbling with parts. Your experience level is way up thar. I wish you luck...
I thought you were a Ford man now I find you messin with that Dodge!!!!
Always nice to see a clean, organized shop !!
Been in the RV business for for 30 years, Ive seen this allot, real common for mice to get in the Onan generators and build nest under blower housing, then you start the generator breaks the plastic fingers that picks up the magnetism , Easy fix to stop this, put moth balls in side your frame rails, and put some in the generator compartment , just a small amount will do the job .
Clint,
As a retired accountant, my early exposure to a small engine class in jr high gave me the basics of a combustion engine, but your knowledge and the ease which you display in a wide range of problems amazes me. Your expertise in your craft is right up there with any Masters or PhD in the academic world and so much more refreshing in today's hyper charged political society. God bless you and your family.
WELL SAID Sir !!....& TOTALLY Agree !!
for me, I like the depth. Give me all the video, and I will give you the watch time.
Very interesting to see how you can take just about anything apart. You new helper seems to be a lot. More quieter than you old cold manage to be. Transmission work fasenates me glad you showed us that
Randy's are getting so difficult to find C & C Equipment has a employee that is rare and very enjoyable to watch work without being told everything twice
Very true
You guys make it look like a job takes 20 mins when in reality😂😂😂😂 its 2 days work for most people.... love your content keep on trucking on .
Peace nlovefromCumbriaUK❤🇬🇧
Thanks 👍
Great stuff Clint! I got here after seeing you commissioning one of those log splitters for Matt At Diesel Creek…. Thanks for sharing
You bet!
Uncle Scott does a lot of head bobbing…not his project not his problem 😂
At's right. Keep ya head bobbin'
Too many parts for me !!!
I had a 6.0 ford and the turbo let go at 36k and brought it to the dealership I bought it from for them to tell me it’s not covered under warranty, so I had it towed to a much larger dealer and it was covered under warranty. Soon after that the first dealership closed.
Watching you tear this down reminds me of all the parts of a high track caterpillar dozer planetary inside the transmission Keep up great content
A big shout out to Randy you have a good man right there and enjoying this stuff 😊😊😊
I like what you do it’s very informative to know about how something happens and knowing how to fix it.
One thing about pulling the transmission that often none of the bolts are rusted solid and impossible to loosen without some heat!! Good job!
That would be because the auto factory’s love to use lock tight on everything that they don’t need to use on. Even a m3 bolt they lock tight 🙄
I love how clean and organised you keep the shop. A clean shop always says a lot about the type of work a shop does.
So true!
Great video. Lots of small parts in there hope the camera caught it all. I suggest you pull that other shaft apart. Had a small trans go out one time and it was a stupid key in the other shaft that was giving us the problem. Had to pull it apart 2x to find the bugger. Those splines shafts are a lot stronger, but can still strip and have issues.
I would love to watch a full video of you putting that back together. I think the time lapse is for people with out an attention span. Love your videos...
Anything you put on here is fine sir. Always interesting and informative to watch and learn, never too old for it. Thank you for your time in editing these for us.
Good luck fixing it right and having it last.
Thanks for recording and the effort. I'm preparing for a 48re to G56 swap. You are brave to have that mainshaft sitting on the edge of the table like that.
It’s in a hole
Those Lift's Sure Beat Floor Jacks !
Yes, I always like to see everything that you show it doesn’t matter whether or not it’s the golf cart to the shopping, tearing part anything and putting it together you and Kevin and the crew always makes me laugh and find something to either break destroy run over and then fix it if it’s fixable love everyone there keep it up I’ll always be in tune
You just showed us how much having the right equipment and people really mean to a repair shop, and no, I wasn't bored. I wanted to see more. Why is it that all the GREAT UA-camRS do us like this. Your shop is on my "Wish I could visit List." GREAT informative Video.
Damn Dodge
Damn mouse
Hell of a team
Clinton great video with interesting content, Randy is quite the worker! Thanks for sharing! Kevin
Good call on pulling the gear box apart, as on semi gearboxes over the years they added pumps and coolers to up the torque rating and lower oil temps.
Had this mercedes g56 just like this last week. Was told by tranny shop, that because of tapered bearings, these trans will trash bearings with vibrations caused by dual disc clutch.
Enjoy this type of program. You are dealing with something beyond my mechanical ability-so, it’s educational!
Dam rats! I thought for sure that tyranny was screwed! But didn't look to bad! At least you have it on video to watch how to put it back together lol! Good luck clint ! I'll be watching you guys get it fixed I have 100% faith you gents can do it!
i just love this kind of thing
I love seeing this kind of stuff.....Thank you so much.....
Dude, you have my karma syndrome, if it wasn't for bad luck,,,,I feel bad for you and your company going through this especially with such a new truck. Doesn't say much for Dodge does it? Hope that's it for disaster on this truck. Keep on smiling and looking forward to seeing you put that back together.
My g56 went out at about the same milage 2nd gear synchronizer exploded
Had the exact same mouse situation on a 97 f350 7.3 manual 60k miles 10 years ago.
Let's see dodge. They have transmission problems, electrical problems, rear end problems. Besides that they are nice trucks. I will keep my old 1992 f 250 7.3 IDI non turbo. Still going, have owned my truck for over 15 years.
Bought a new Dodge pickup in 2004, the transmission shit the bed at 15000 miles. They replaced it, and l drove to the Ford dealership, and traded it in!!! I will never own another Dodge !!!!!!
Enjoyed the video, Your thought process behind diagnosis/reason for failure, tear down, parts failure, parts order. Saved a bunch of $ with your excellent skills.
You couldn’t give me a Dodge. If you did I’d give it back
That's not a Dodge, it's a RAM. RAM is a brand. 2011 model year and newer RAM trucks are not Dodges.
Yes! I do appreciate seeing the take-apart process as well as re-assembly. Thank you.
You could actually re-title the video mouse destroyed my truck transmission and it wouldn’t be clickbait.
great video my friend... I never had the courage to dive into a gearbox :) Keep the videos coming!
Hey Clint!! Great idea putting the coolers on. Keep up the great work.
You would think it would be a type of metal mesh with small holes in like to stop little buggers getting in there
Well that's certainly put me off ever thinking about buying a Dodge Ram not I would go past Ford in any case your a keen fella pulling all that ta pieces
It amazes me. There’s nothing your boys don’t work on your leader is the best. Watching never gets boring. Thanks for all the extra you do Clint. ❤️👍🍺🇺🇸
Thanks 👍
You inspired me to move my car. I've been parking next to two abandoned cars in our apartment complex for a year now and started smelling mouse pee a couple days ago. After seeing your $13,000 bill I am moving to the other side of the parking lot now.
Love your content! You bet I want to see the re-build!!
The aluminum was badly oxidized by the alkali cleaner. You do not want to use regular detergent on aluminum. You need to use an acid cleaner like a citrus based cleaner instead.
Videos like this are very helpful!!!! Thanks
Put some mesh over that vent and keep Mickey out.
Loved seeing videos like this, but sorry it took your local dealerships refusal to complete warranty work. Dealerships have a lot of leeway in warranties. I would remember this when the next new truck or car purchase happens.
You might have been able to free up those clutch fingers with a big socket and the press to relive the tension on the fingers and get that garbage out of in between the fingers and housing?
OUCH -- I have a 95 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins with a manual 5 speed tranny I bought new with 320K miles -- Replaced the clutch at 250k (pissed off the shop forgot to replace the rear main crankshaft seal while there -- some say let sleepy dogs lie and shouldn't replace) -- usually the automatic trans have problems -- most people don't understand that manual transmissions can pull over twice -- that's right -- over 2 times the load of an automatic.
Now i understand why you have ,,a certain thing,, with sany. They wrecked your car.
These lifts are awsome.
I like seeing the detail teardowns (and reassembly) as long as they include explanations of what each part is and does. Especially the parts that are damaged or bad or otherwise the reason for the teardown.
I don’t know about hating you but they ought to be paying you for fail testing their equipment
You should check with precision transmission about building You a transmission. He has videos on UA-cam.
Maybe some shop kitties will help with your mouse problems. Black snakes will work well also 😆
yes
W Folga I like all your shows keep up the great work Clint I’m from fergus ontario Canada I watch every show like clock work
Clint it hard to believe your the Boss you joke with your staff and work with all of them including young guys and teaching them how to find fix and install new parts.Your employees have a lot of respect for u and I bet if there was a problem you would be there for your employees you have million dollar business going there keep up the great work thanks again
Love the content, Clinton. Keep it coming. Always learning something new from you guys!
Why do you worry about people being bored most would like the long video great video thanks
Looks like a very watery lubrication oil, certain way, not gear oil
Good video. Odor of parts cleaner: reckon anyone is whizzing in the washer when you're not watching?
Great video dealer crazy prices
Go to a restaurant supplier and get a selection of baskets. Good luck, I would be over my head with this project. I'm amazed that those big sincro parts didn't crash up the case. Carry on.
They would indeed be E-Torx
a broke down Dodge .. WHAT A SHOCKER
Kevins been hot rodding that truck.Thats the problem.
Sounds to me like the dealership knew what the problem was and didn't want to fix it.
Just wondering what your plans are to keep the mice out of your bell housing.for the next time,so it don't happen again.
Yeah, but enjoy these videos too Clint, you and Randy working on the transmission! You definitely know your stuff brother!thanks for sharing Clint, I always enjoy your content my friend! Kirk from Louisiana, thanks! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👌🏻👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Sure do
