About Our Vineyards
When you outgrow winemaking tradition, you must forge your own path. And we did. The Prisoner exists because of the collaboration with our growers, many of which have been with us since the very beginning-from the Solari Family Vineyard in Calistoga, where old school sensibilities meet new techniques, to the Korte Ranch in St. Helena, a vineyard whose diligence outlasted the Prohibition and has sustained four generations.
INSPIRATION SINCE INCEPTION
Spanish artist, Francisco de Goya created a series of works in the early 1800's as a visual protest against the injustice and brutality of the Spanish War of Independence. We found one sketch, "Le Petit Prisoner" to be particularly relevant and inspiring, to this day - a timeless blend of creativity and activism. This is the inspiration for our vision and mission. We will never be complacent or restricted by tradition and encourage creative expression as a means to empower the bold.

Hey man. So I'm from Solano county, which is an immediate neighbor to Napa county. If I remember correctly 2019 was the year of the Napa wildfires. I know it was either 2018 or 2019, because I'm a delivery driver and I was working in Napa county during that time. I don't know if that may have an effect on this particular wine vineyard, but I do know it did effect quite a few different vineyards in the area.

Big ups again. Hopefully, they're okay. I think when making two "Prisoner" videos I checked their website a few times in the last two years. I saw nothing mentioned from them that they were affected. Then again, I didn't comb the website carefully. But yeah, those wildfires I remember. That was world news.
