- First gust of wind at 12h17min16sec, Irma almost flies from the nest and small chick accidentally gets kicked to the edge. Chick manages to crawl back under Irma.
Second strong gust at 12h20min33sec grabs Irma and small chick is blown out of the nest. Bigger chick also flies to the edge, but falls back into the nest.
Irma returns to the nest 12h21min to cover the remaining chick.
It was so sad to watch this moment :(. RIP little chick

Oh my fucking god no :'( I've been following Pontu's Ospreys for years and have never seen wind this fucking bad :'( I am literally heart broken.. My and my friend in Quebec always talk about the Ospreys and she was the one to introduce me to them years ago.. I call them our babies.. and now we're down a grandbaby basically.. I hope she knows what happened.. I don't want to tell her because I know she'll be sad :'( I was so so so happy when I found out that both little eggies hatched successfully after only seeing the one hatched.. and now this :'( Rest in peace little Osp :'(

When I turned the cam on this morning I saw only 1 chick and was worried that it had blown off the nest. I thought I heard it peeping nearby. So sad to watch this tragedy. RIP sweet little chick.
That's got to be a record for youngest fledge in Osprey history.

we don't see when the chick get out of the nest ?
you can see in slow motion at 0.25 speed at the end of 4:01 second, right at the top of the nest (same direction the bigger chick was moved just half a second later), not the moment they made a pause at 4:04
@@JD-zl3ri The mother raises its left wing and thus makes a current underneath where the crap is and it's blown off by this air coming under the wing of the adult.

Pretty smart how the parent faced into the wind and then streamlined itself to make its surface space smaller and more aerodynamic. Really impressive

There are two Osprey nest cameras. Kalakotkas: Mai & Mati with two babies, and Kalakotkas2: Irma & Ivo with one baby.

El viento se llevó uno? No lo puedo ver después de que la madre saliera volando
La madre pone su izquierda ala alta y esto cree un corriente de aire entre la ala y el polluelo que le lleva de debajo la madre. El otro que es mas pesado esta movido pero volve en el centro del nido y se acosta para esperar a la madre.
