There's a fountain at Circular Quay with all Australian native animals represented, where the fountains bump and spray...and I used to take the Ferry to Circular Quay from Manly when I was 18 to go to work... I hated it... now I know how privileged I was to be able to sail between the Heads every Saturday morning in the sun and the rain.. Ahhhh.. you guys have no idea about being "Restless in the 80's...
I'm watching this in 2018, having only last week caught the Manly ferry to circular quay. I sat out side with the sun on my face and ' reckless' played through my mind. A more spiritual experience than going to church.
never seen this version , its fun and its recklessly beautiful . surely one of the most beautiful balladeer and soulful pop voices of the 20th and 21st century. chris
australian crawl sempre foi bom, tenho cds deles originais, perfeito! uma pena q no Brasil nao se faz mais sucesso, o povo gosta d ouvir lixo sonoro e não musicas de qualidades, viva a surf music.
Meet me down by the jetty landing Where the the pontoons bump and sway I see the others reading, standing As the Manly Ferry cuts its way to Circular Quay Hear the Captain blow his whistle So long she's gone away I miss our early morning wrestle Not a very happy way to start the day She don't like that kind of behavior She don't like that kind of behaviorSo, throw down your guns Don't be so reckless Throw down your guns Don't be soFeel like Scott of the Antarctic Base camp too far away A Russian sub beneath the Arctic Burke and Wills and camels Initials in the tree She don't like that kind of behavior She don't like that kind of behaviorSo, throw down your guns Don't be so reckless Throw down your guns Don't be so So, throw down your guns Don't be so reckless Throw down your guns
He sure does - according to Wiki Mick Thomas, Renée Geyer, Kate Ceberano, Vika and Linda Bull, Nick Cave, Marilyn Manson, Nick Barker, Kasey Chambers, Yothu Yindi, Archie Roach, Gyan, Monique Brumby, Kelly Willis, Missy Higgins and Troy Cassar-Daley. Then you have soundtracks like Lantana. PK = genius

Unplugged Aussie classic. So much great music from the 70's, 80's and 90's that never got the international audience it deserved.
Love the Aussies Amazing 👍💕👏
Me sigue gustndo esta canción. Admiro al cantante porque conserva esa voz rasposita que le hace cantar de manera especial.

What a beautiful collaboration.
Truly wonderful music, straight from the heart!
D. Braithwaite is a great back up singer...
ADORO...CADA MUSICA NOS FAZ VOLTAR NO TEMPO....E LEMBRAMOS MOMENTOS INESQUECIVEIS.

Almost generous to give Daryl Braithwaite a credit there. A bit of Oohs and ahs and a chorus. Lucky bloke.
Nice video.

Looks like MIDDAY SHOW (Channel 9) 1992
Who is the guy in the middle who did mouth harp?
David Campbell
@@chuckiemausteller1747 thanks!
Okay, thanks. I just assumed Paul Kelly wrote it because he writes songs for a lot of people. I have always liked James version the best.
What year was this filmed ?
Its "Where the pontoons bump & spray'.
And it sounds different.
Nice performance - anybody know what year this was recorded? 90s i guess....
Avtually written by Jame Reyne. Paul Kelly covered it.
What show was this on?
He sure does - according to Wiki Mick Thomas, Renée Geyer, Kate Ceberano, Vika and Linda Bull, Nick Cave, Marilyn Manson, Nick Barker, Kasey Chambers, Yothu Yindi, Archie Roach, Gyan, Monique Brumby, Kelly Willis, Missy Higgins and Troy Cassar-Daley. Darryl was never meant to shine here, pity
They could have done an immortalised and memorable duet
@OzTwanger Fuck yeah!
Should have given Daryl a verse
im related to him(:
@OzTwanger Actualy James didnt write it. It was writen in the 1930's by a female irish folk siner.
it hasn't been covered that much.
I think Paul Kelly wrote this song.
dream on
haa he missed the start
Thank goodness it took nearly the whole song for Braithwaite to muster up the courage to sing. So over rated! Reyne Rocks!
This is a great old song but james reyne's voice is an acquired taste. Sorry!!!
He wrote it and sung it , so don't know how your going to get around it
