- James Reyne was joined by Kasey Chambers for a Special performance at Fox Studios for Max Sessions from 2010.
This amazing performance was filmed before a studio audience which consisted of Friends, Fans and Competition Winners. They were treated to a magical performance by James Reyne.
It was an unforgettable evening made even better by one of the most talented bands in the country who’d backed James for many years.
This includes…
Lead Guitarist: Brett “Burgs” Kingman.
Bass Guitarist: Andy McIvor.
Drums by (long time friend and former AC’s) John “Watto” Watson.
Incredible Backing Vocals:
Tracy Kingman.
Special Guest Vocals by Kasey Chambers.

Yes indeed, James should always pay his respects to Guy. I can only imagine how successful Guy would’ve been had he lived a longer life. He had talent and class!! No one can sing this song the way that he did it!!

Yeah theres only one voice for this song. Even though they were singing all i could hear was guy. Casey chambers voice is the most annoying in the world. Not my cup of tea at all.
@@crystllclr3743 Agree. This was horrid. Guy's song was butchered. She can't even sing without some yank twang and her thin voice has no emotion. Sad to all Aussie country singers that don't try to sound American.
Couldn’t agree more. Guy’s song, and he was the key ingredient to their songwriting

They were good mates long before AC was put together. Even before he joined that band he was always about with them all.
Na, sorry. It’s just off. Guy sung this much nicer, the Strat/Jag/Tele combo was much deeper and fuller, it just doesn’t work. Good effort, but it’s Guys song.

Casey Chambers always sounds like a strangled cat. Not sure what the point was off adding her to such a melodic song.
Make no mistake, this is Guy McDonough’s song, in oh so many way.
That said, it’s good to see James keeping the songs alive.

I reckon Kasey would have been an Aussie Crawl fan, great lyrics, great music and James' unique voice. I think she would have liked that his vocals were 'different' and unique, so to speak.
I’m a Kasey fan too. Seems like I’m in the minority in here. I really like the mix of both of their voices here. You can see the mutual admiration on their faces throughout this performance. I know it’s not for the AC purists. I felt it worked well here.

This performance was never released online officially. I had this on a Foxtel Box and through a complex process managed to make a digital copy. Originally made in 4:3 Format. More recently I converted it to Full HD. These videos although not owned by me, I felt were worth sharing here. I was at this Max Sessions along with friends and we always have fond memories.

Barely in tune and the nasal twang is so off putting. Guy sang this so much better.

Yes. Haha. I quite like her voice. But for some it’s a little hard to listen to.
This was two of my favorite performers singing live and giving this Classic AC song a new lease on life.

Has such a different sound from the original without that beautiful Stratocaster tone. The Tele gives it a more rockabilly sound. Still great.
