The green reflective dial is what Timex calls All-Day Indiglo. It uses a holographic reflector to increase visibility and contrast while giving it the green-ish vibe of having Indiglo on all day.

I put a lot of miles on my bike riding back and fourth to a deli to play Pac Man and a few other games like Tempest & Donkey Kong and I was a little kid at the time! We had a lot of freedom back then and that is what I miss the most! Waka Waka
Oh man. Tempest was a work of art! Yes, for sure! I remember riding my bike to a hotel that was about 5 miles away just to play the sit-down version of Pac-Man. It was of course, five miles up hill both ways :p.

I just got a email back from timex telling me that the ready version of this watch was made for amazon only and not available in stores or on there website as i got mine from amazon and was wandering about this difference if you where wandering.

The watch really does look great on the wrist. The 80s were the best decade. I'd give the 60s maybe a fighting chance but I wasn't a zygote during those days.

actually, I was also searching for this reflective screen and I was very fascinated by that kind of display when I was a curious kid in the 2000s .. it's really cool it makes an illusion that the backlight is on. I think this kind of reflective illumination screen is called Holographic diffraction membranes. Also, Timex first introduced the electroluminescent backlight feature in their watches known as 'Indiglo'.
I have the black one, but it looks different. Your says "Ready!" at the bottom and "T 80" at the top. Mine looks more like your silver one.
The black one in this video is the new, 40th anniversary edition. It just came out :)

Dude the first single I ever bought was TOTO Africa still love it to this day.
I miss the 80's so much do you remember some of the watches you could get like the game watches, melody watches, I had a knight rider watch that played the theme tune and my mate had the james bond 007 that also played the theme.
Then there were the calculator watches that sporned the data bank watch and ultimately the computer watch that had a keyboard that attached itself to the watch I think that was a casio.
Casio was killing it in the 80's and ruled the shop windows it was my first watch and still scratching the itch 40 years later.
Too bad they cannot make the alarm with the waka waka sound!
I don't know why both Timex and Casio don't just take the plunge and start making all their square digital cases out of metal instead of plastic. There are some Chinese branded watches (Skmei, Sanda, etc.) that are at least using zinc alloy instead of plastic on some models.....with a Japanese sourced movement......for about $15. So Timex and Casio can do better for the price they're charging. At least they're starting to make their watches in Philippines and Thailand instead of China though.

What up Curt! I was really digging the look and retro vibe of this watch, but $80 is a little steep for a digital. Half the price I'd maybe pull the trigger. Was the packaging the same for both watches? That was pretty slick. The last digital watch I bought was for a friend's birthday, I got the Casio World time that was silver and black and put it on a leather strap. It looked super slick. Anyways good to see Ted reliving his "glory days". Lol good stuff man, keep the vids coming!

I was just kinda bummed haha! The packaging was indeed the same. Everything is basically the same save for some minor cosmetic details. Thanks, man!

Your vid from Feb.8th 2017 Citizen AN3460 Chrono \ I found a similar near mint yellow Dial with blue sub Dials 0510 H39401 KA . Wouldn't you know it arrived dead. 😭 Only the Chronograph functions 😭 So disappointed...lol
