      Wow. I agree. A named manager, such as Potter, Moyes or Conceicao, is no guarantee of success. We may well end up with a name that has not yet been considered by the media from home or abroad. Whomever we appoint we need to support them, as one pack, to help us recover from the currently increasing threat of possible relegation.

      Be sure that until the club and they might not do anyway sign 2 cbs in January we are completely stuffed regardless of who comes in. Gon might want a payoff anyway now and it'll be evident imo based off the team he puts out Monday. Tries to replicate fulham game you know hes not bothered if he's gone. Everyone knows the best chance we have is playing the team that started vs Southampton but still don't be surprised if we can't get any results given our CBS are the worst in the league by a country mile (cost a combined 17m vs 20m that both Ipswich and Southampton spent on just one cb alone)

      @@Theexcellorator64 "Based on" not "based off". Are you American? But, more seriously, I would agree that the starting XI for the Southampton game would be the most prudent selection. Though I would pick Rodrigo Gomes, rather than Sarabia, only for the reason that, in my opinion, we must play a proper winger - even though I am a fan of Sarabia's. And I'd also possible chance Doyle, rather than Lemina, but I'd say that would be more risky (to drop the captain for this most crucial of fixtures) and isn't a likely pick.

    We've spent 17m on our 4 cbs collectively, that includes ACL injured Yerson. Ipswich and Southampton both signed one CB for circa 20m in the summer. It is outrageous we've been served this shit mostly by fosun but I'll throw Hobbs and Gon in there if they prioritised signings like Johnstone and Andre over a cb. This cannot continue though fosun have to spend or go, these cb options are worse than bloody berra and stearman under Mick. Ask yourself who would sign these cbs off us in the prem? Answer = no one. Don't let fosun fool us either that we were unlucky Yerson got injured, yes unlucky it's for 9 months, but not unlucky he's injured. Even if he got injured for 3 months we'd have been stuffed which surely has to be accounted for in plans
    I'll also ask this question - is it possible for a manager to make a team this bad at set pieces or is it that our CBs are shite at putting a head on them? Starting to believe the latter when no one can even stop tarkowski getting first contact

    A few of us, 123 north st, Neilwhite, sutty etc have been saying for a while that no decent manger would work for fosun/shi. This is now being proven with potter, Moyes, concecio ( sorry for spelling) all distancing themselves from the job due to the ownership model, we will end up with edwards fro Luton absolutely nailed on, also the fact that the steptoes manager name is even being mentioned shows how much of a disconnect there is between the club and the fans. Everyone should watch Sunderland til I die and see what happens when the owners decide to stop putting money in to a club and be “self sufficient” make no mistake folks unless fosun change their policy or we get new owners this time next season we will be in the bottom 3 of the championship

      And if Rob Edwards isn't appointed, you'll say you were wrong to say he was "nailed on"?
      So Fosun out and then we have no one bank-rolling the club? And which fairy godmother, billionaire multinationsl corporation is going to step in and start burning millions of pounds at Wolves to get us back into Europe, would you say?
      You seem to live in a fantasy that with a snap of a finger, Wolves could be a Top Six side. Get real. Or hand over the half-a-billion euros or so that would allow the club to appoint the manager, trainers and players that would, possibly, get us back into European competitions sometime over the next five years.
      Fosun are attempting to establish a self-sufficient model which would ensure the club survives into the future. You may not like it, I may not like it, but, at the moment, IT IS THE ONLY DEAL ON THE TABLE.

    No arguments from me that they need to get a wiggle on and 'Old Yeller' the boss, but at some point the buck has to stop higher up. Unless you're a massive global brand in the likes of a Man City or a Liverpool, self-sufficiency is a pipe dream at this level. You invest properly or you drop. It's that simple. And ploughing money into buying kids who we can sell on for profit at the expense of the present is a fool's game. Perhaps I'm a sucker, I love my club and have watched them in every division they've played in my lifetime, I won't stop going just to stick it to Fosun, but I completely understand why some fans will and don't blame them for that choice. Fosun are already finding investors hard to attract. It's going to be a million times tougher in the Championship with a half empty stadium.

    • @dylanwolf
      @dylanwolf 15 днів тому

      If the club is losing money then nobody is "investing" they are burning their own money. We accept Fosun's deal on the table, to establish a self-sufficient model, or the club goes under forever. Fosun have committed themselves to the club for seven years now - and they have been seven pretty succesful years in terms of the size of our club, many of our Midland rivals have had much worse records over that period. No one else, no billionaire multinational corporation or Arab Sheikh, is ready to take over and throw away half-a-billion on the outside possiblilty of getting Wolves back into Europe. Get real.

  • @dylanwolf
    @dylanwolf 15 днів тому +2

    It's step up from being floored time. Who is up for the task, is the difficult question to answer from outside of knowing what goes down in the changing rooms. I would assume that Gary O'Neil couldn't save his job now, even if we won all of the next three matches and that you are right, Dave, in assuming that he's only still in charge because there is no one ready to take over.
    Who knows what our starting XI will be on Monday. I'd personally go for Sa, Semedo, Dawson, Santi Bueno, Toti, Ait Nouri, Doyle, Joao Gomes, Rodrigo Gomes, Cunha and Strand-Larsen. But I may be way off. And in no way would I argue with anyone who thought that Sa and Dawson shouldn't start after their terrible performances at Everton.
    I shall be happy-clapping the team, watching on Romanian TV, and hoping for victory on Monday evening. It would be sweet to beat Lopetegui and here's hoping that Agent Max Kilman can do the job that Agent Neil Collins did in the away fixture against Brentford last season. Heaven knows we are due a good result away to West Ham.

  • @dylanwolf
    @dylanwolf 14 днів тому

    I'm far more anxious about tomorrow's match than the Everton fixture. Before the Everton match I was not confident about the resuilt, but I was confident that we'd perform well, compete strongly and react to the Brentford debacle with vigour and spirit. Boy, was I wrong.
    So now, after that midweek shambles, I only recognise that the West Ham game, above all, is the one that could flip our chances of survival to less than 50-50, from possible into the realms of probable, if you like. A performance and a win, would indicate that there is something, some potential, there in the side still accessible to rise to midtable - a repeat of the Goodison oerformance would indicate that there isn't.
    A loss would still NOT confirm a certain "nailed on" relegation, that so many have already gleefully declared. But it would mean that relegation was a probablity rather than a possibility. Likewise a victory would not secure any kind of safety, we are beyond the "with one bound they were free" possibility - rolled up sleeves, sweating brows and hard labour need to be consistently applied in every fixture.
    I'm hugely anxious about the game. But I am still happy-clapping because support, not mockery, contempt, ridicule and derision, is what we must offer. We supporters are needed MOST in times of crisis. Supporting a football team is not all boozy celebrations boasting of silverware won - in fact it very rarely is, unless you choose your club to support on that basis - which is what Jeff Shi's "Wolves, may not be for you" statement was all about.
    There is a bonus if we can win on Monday evening - we pull West Ham into the bottom of the table mix, making it seven teams slugging it out, not six. Ipswich blowing it at the end today is a blessing.

      I would given he's on crutches right now. We've spent 17m on our 4 cbs, one out with an ACL. Ipswich Southampton spent circa 20m on one CB. Our CBS and the form sa is in is the worst in the league, we wouldn't keep clean sheets in league 1.
      Yes kilman wasn't top 4 club level but he could actually win a header in our box go back and watch the game vs Albion the idea it was a choice between him and mosquera is ridiculous. One injury to a cb and we've got to sign one in January tells you how badly we've prepped for the season

      Absolute rubbish what sort of planning means the minute you get an injury to mosquera you are waiting for January to sign a cb. That planning is what gets you the worst CBS in the league and the worst defence in the league and ultimately relegated. If all your hopes for an entire defence are undone by one injury you've completely failed and acted with complete negligence. Look at the fit cbs and have a think again about how much money has been spent. Kilman would play every minute in this team right now why do you think Newcastle bid for him too. Toti Dawson and Santi Bueno have been rubbish and that's it plus a manager who doesn't know how he wants to play changing everything every game... You've not even answered the question. If you have to sign a CB in January the minute one of your cbs gets injured in September then how is that not poor planning? And in terms of changing style I wonder why that might be happening maybe it is because the minute mosquera got injured the whole defensive system had to change. Let alone the fact Dawson has been out several weeks with flu. And I will tell you now that him trying to progress us into a back 4 which is natural thing a young manager who wants to progress us would do, yes toti bueno who have ZERO I repeat ZERO pl experience in a. 4 makes it the worst in the league. Just ask yourself again too our CBs combined cost 17m mate okay 22m if you include meupiyo, Southampton and Ipswich spent more on one CB. How is that not gross negligence? The very fact you are including pond is laughable and shows the level of insight you have into football saliba the only anomaly to ever be ready for PL football at that young age van dijk was playing in 2nd tier dutch league at that level, experience matters at CB as we are finding out now that's the only reason we are in the relegation spot just look at how many goals we've conceded you ostrich @@Damadchef

    If steve cooper is available and would at least take on a 'firefighter' role then he maybe a viable option, he was a defender, good contacts in uk due to england coaching, experience of the premier league and has coached midland clubs.

    I don't think MK back at Wolves would improve us that much TBH at this stage, the rot has well n truly set in. He'd add a little security obviously and I guess that "could" improve confidence .... not replacing him was the starting gun for whats played out this season. Those clowns (Shi and Hobbs) gambled and gambled badly, like drunks in a casino.
    Once the losses started piling up, the weakness of GON and some of our players (where are the leaders?..... we have none) became all too apparent, and it's getting worse week after week. We're ROTTEN and GON hasn't got the character to instill the belief or steel required...... you cant find that in an iPad or technical notes, its character.
    MK is gone, we move on .... we need a new man at the helm with his own ideas, hopefully a sizeable pair of cojones and the experience and passion to not only save this season but fire us up going forward.
