Best football podcast on the internet, with two football intellectuals (who'd have thought there was such a thing!) with genuine affection and respect for one another. Absolutely blows mainstream media football commentary (and every other youtube channel) out of the water. Play on, boys.
Guys . Absolutely fantastic as usual . You are always bringing insights to the game to me and many others who view thousand of miles away . What a shame the people in charge are unable to appreciate all the negatives in our game . Keep up the great work.
Sullivan is allowing the crisis to drag on, potentially writing off the season, league and FA cup, when he could act to bring a coach in with some points as a cushion above the relegation zone and the January window imminent. We have waited patiently for Lopetegui to demonstrate he can develop the squad, but all the evidence points to failure and confusion. Time Sullivan acted.
@harry2bells would expect Sullivan and Board to address the situation rather than passively accept it, which comes with their responsibility for running the club. We fans have every right to express dissatisfaction, and no doubt we all have their views on potential replacements, and mine would not exclude approaching managers currently employed.
Lopotegui focused everything on highline and possession that he forgot there are other ways even the most possession based teams score from, ways like transition which he has the players to do and even set pieces, remember last season against wolves two goals kudus scored where from transition
We have so many players (Kudus, Bowen, Antonio, etc) who are so good in transition, it feels like such a fools errand to not utilise that at all... - Charlie
Exacting and excellent review guys. With Kretinski distracted with a takeover elsewhere Gollum seems to be back to his dithering indecisive best ala the Moyrsaurus era. This appalling lack of leadership & absence of incisive timely decision making on & off the pitch will continue in this manner beyond January, so the transfer window will be one of what's gone before a whimsical late purchase without sound reasoning
Hi all at AU,does the stats show from the same point last season any progress between moyes and loppi ,points won, shots on target ,off target accurate passes made, tackles, running distance
Hey Leon, you should check out a video we did in mid November called "Has anything actually changed under Lopetegui at West Ham?" where we covered just this! - Charlie
Great Listen as always. Would love to hear you guys speak about Potts and if he is ready to be recalled in January or should he continue his growth ready for next season?
It's definitely something we've spoken about covering, potentially during January if there's enough time. Including youth going forward has to happen! - Charlie
@@17fire91 POTTS has potential but not at this club imo. In relation to the youth, something is missing that we can not see in the shadows. Probably relates to money in certain people's pocket.
Lads, some really refreshing detailed (some shockingly obvious) analyse as per usual. Do we know how many coaching (S&C included) staff Lopetegui brought with him. I ask because many of our players don't move fluently as professional athletes do. I thought the very same when Moyes was at the helm. 🤕🤕
Love the content lads but how many times are we going to say how poorly coached and set up we are. Any other club makes the change cos we are so poor on the pitch. Sullivan knows nothing but about football only results and it’s very telling 😂
A factor that is largely overlooked is that for most of his tenure Moyes had to manage his squad through 2 matches a week , pretty much every week , and that must have played a part in his choice of a pragmatic, energy conserving approach- Loppy had no such excuse … he really does look out of his depth here and to be honest he also looks very stressed and quite unwell !
Perhaps, but then don't you think he should have implemented a healthy balance of squad rotation & substitutions? Something he actively choose not to do...
Moyes did attempt to change it up in the first half of the 22-23 season, although it obviously resulted in an incredibly poor run. I've heard new managers of clubs in Europe talk about the difficult of getting their ideas across given the lack of time in training due to heavy schedules. Whether that effected Moyes or not is another question - Charlie
I'm so releaved that u noticed, that other than a goal, Soucek was so incredibly bad in midfield . Such a shame so many don't really know what they are watching. Alverez 😢😢😢😢. How are they being coached? I can't blame those 2 entirely.
making small mistakes in defence accumulates into a wobbly defence that lets in goals. there is a huge problem with Alvarez where he is late to do everything since his injury. paq most of the time makes a wrong pass when the team is committed to attack. guido is physically just to slow. soler needs better players around him. Emerson and awb are still pushing to far forward and getting caught out. mav is ok but he is an understudy. kudos is still hogging the ball for to long . and what's with all the hoofing the ball up field.
Why was Alvarez so bad and not souchek ? Souchek does fuck all ! He scores 1 in every ten games but apart from that he jogs around never getting near anyone and can’t pass 5 yards! This midfield has been crap since rice left because he covered soucheks ground. Not everyone can do that . Alvarez is basically on his own in there!
Cal's analysis is much like Alvarez's performance - some positive insights but lacks scope and context. His poor decisions on and off the ball is a consequence of poor midfield spacing and structure (insert Soucek 's lack of offensive awareness) and poor leadership (insert Mavro and Kilman) leads to poor decisions. Alvarez hasnt magically become tactically shit in 6 months. He would do just fine in other systems.

Congratulations on consistently being the best West Ham analysts 👊🏼⚒️
Excellent as always! Watching you two and Gonzo (and Dad), and Geo, is all you need as a West Ham fan.

And do what exactly?
Get Potter in?
Mouth watering.

@@simonhughes7141 Sully has acted.... Continued the same old, same old. 🤕🤕🤕🤕
No potentially about it, this season is over. The thought of Potter depresses me also. F this club.
Jack Cal, of late I've noticed how little AWB DOES NOT block crosses. Look at Wolverhampton game. Have u noticed it.
AWB positioning is poor but recovery is good that’s why
Enjoyed that cheers lads
Really unrivalled WHU content. Always a great listen / watch.

Top show!
Lads, if we do strengthen 🤔🤔 in Jan, do u think Tim will purchase players Lopetegui wants or he wants. Q is, as u said, who will be next boss.

Wolverhampton should have had two penalties (obvious). Our 2nd goal should have been chalkd off. Koristantinos is so clumsy and fortunate.

@nothingspecialeither8374 Exactly. He was the one who said, "I've ALWAYS loved a small squad"! As I said, did very same at EVERY club.

I’ve said it all season, Alvarez is no way good enough for the prem, so so slow, bad decision making, need to cash in on him very soon

morning boys
West Ham are just sooooooooo unbelievably bad. Our transition from attack to defence is the worse I have ever seen at this club. Beyond a circus.
Out of curiosity how long have you been following us? Lol
@hazzascazza5268 I think from early last season.... If my memory serves me well. But not long.
Lobbe header by Soucek.
One good result followed by 2 bad result equals 3 poor performances.
