Draisaitl has been an absolute beast this playoffs
just like any playoffs, there's a reason draisaitl is 2nd all time in playoffs ppg
Always has been
He has 1 ppg on the powerplay, and another 1 ppg even strength. Being a point per game player in the playoffs is an accomplishment and he is doubling that. Insane!
What is a PP goal even strength? @emanuelcaparelli
@@cowboywayne35 I think they mean Point Per Game, not Power Play Goal.
From 2-9-1 to western finals. Nuts
While being the 2nd worst team in the league at one point
Both their rough start and the impressive winning streak later on were mainly due to just an exceptionally imbalanced schedule in terms of strength of opposition during those periods. It was always going to even out in the end.
@romaliop well said good sir !
@@romaliopi think there’s more to it. The oilers lost embarrassingly to the sharks early on, which got woodcroft fired. The team changed their defensive schemes with the new coaching staff and it really showed, both offensively and defensively. Picking up Perry near the end of the winning streak probably also helped given what the players have said in interviews about his IQ
Wow! A cup contending team at the start of the season has a bit of a slump, then makes it to the place everyone expected them to be?!! How nuts!
If I had a dime for each time Ceci scored the first goal for EDM in a game 7, I'd have two dimes. It isn't a lot, but it's weird that it's happened twice.
Hate him 93 other games of the season but damnit I love him on these ones😭
That clip of McDavid screaming in celebration is priceless. The guy has an insane amount of pressure on him. So many variables at play. Great series and win.
similar lesser version of ovi hoisting the cup battle cry. I'm sure we'll see an ovi-esque yell if he hoists the cup this year
@@anonymous134ywon't happen. Rangers will hoist Lord Stanley
@@frederickglass1583rangers getting taken out by florida in no more than 6 games
@frederickglass1583 rangers had trouble wjth oilers when they met...
@@frederickglass1583 Rangers will lose to Florida, so that's not really a problem lol
honestly oilers in 6 is not a bad prediction, the true wild card was silovs. unbelievable goalie with a bright future
Silovs playing unexpectedly good, and Skinner playing terribly for the first several games. So oil in 5-6 was a solid prediction. Goalie diff is impossible to account for or predict.
He literally lost us this series but ok
@@JakobKozeyYeah let’s just forget about how the nucks were asleep for the first 50 minutes of game 7
@@JakobKozey If you mean Silvos, naw he didn't lose it. He made 3 fantastic saves in that last game among his regular saves. Canucks weren't really around for the first 2 periods plus you guys were missing Boeser who is known to score clutch goals.
You don’t know hockey.
The thing about the Oilers is, it’s never over until it’s really fucking over. They’ve risen from the ashes this year
100%
If Foegele and McLeod can find some scoring…we can really push the stars on depth.
Holloway playing well is a great sign
as long oilers can prevent shots at skinner than they could be good.
Most likely if oilers don't play pickard, they will lose because I doubt they will be able to restrict the amount of shots like they did in the last 2 games vs the nucks.
Most likely dallas with their offensive powerhouse will beat the oilers due to them getting more than 20+ shots against AHL skinner.
They had the easiest opening two rounds on paper of all the playoff teams. Dallas finished in higher position and had much more challenging run. Could be a factor if Edmonton steals a couple early, but if they're down against Dallas a couple games early on I can't imagine they'll be anything but out.
Huh ? They were the cup favourites for almost every hockey analyst.
Oilers...Started from the bottom now we here (final four)...at that time I didn't even think they would make the playoffs...great season also by Canucks.
Fr when we were 2-9-1 I had almost no hope
thanks for putting "final four" in brackets, i had no idea
@@JJL_123 when you all were 2-9-1 and had people in your camp screaming for mcdavid and drai to be traded 🤣😂
@@rnonty Nobody in "our camp" EVER screamed for either McDavid or Draisaitl to be traded.
kaner has been a menace.. emotions in check, and getting things done.. lets have a shoutout for kaner oilers fans CMON
I just want to mention everyone makes fun of Ceci but it was the players on that team that told Holland not to trade Ceci at the deadline because they all love that guy. Plus he has scored twice now in game 7s for the Oilers.
I played sports with him growing up so I want him to succeed but without him they wouldn't have needed a game 7 to win in the 1st place.
Didn't they say that about a goalie now playing in the AHL?
It’s nice that he’s well liked, but that doesn’t mean he’s a good defenceman. Nurse gets a hyper inflated contract that continues to look worse and worse in part because he’s friends with McDavid. If it’s just a bunch of friends playing hockey then they never win the cup. Ceci should have been gone for a good shutdown defender, player opinions don’t mean diddly.
Ceci is Edmonton’s Mr. Game 7
Nurse's contract is what worries me the most. It's ugly and long and I can't see him ever living up to the amount.
Canucks should be proud of their playoff run. From last season to this season the difference is night and day.
I'm sure most of Canada is hoping the Oilers bring the cup home. It's been way too long.
Nope, I'd rather any other team, except the Bruins and Canadiens win over the oilers. Don't speak for me
Canucks are for real.
Silovs is NOT a third-string goalie. He's the third goalie, and likely the back up for next season. Show the guy some respect, eh?
Guys got a bright future no doubt, I do wonder how long till he breaks out as a starter. Kind of feels inevitable.
Agreed. with how well he's playing I don't think DeSmith is worth the signing.
Silovs was amazing throughout the series
They literally brought him up from the AHL. Pretty sure that's the definition.
He’s just lucky asf. His luck will run out and he will be back to AHL
As an Oilers fan, I’m more nervous for this Dallas series than the 2022 Avs series. And the Avs swept us…
Oilers are done for sure. Dallas will pick Skinner apart.
I’m actually not as scared as I was for the canucks or the aves series
Should be a really fun series, but it's wild how much fans seem to sleep on the Stars. Easily the best depth in the league right now, solid (though sometimes bumpy) goaltending, and a D core that has evolved significantly with the infusion of Tanev.
I'm feeling the Oilers make this competitive but, after watching Dallas completely ice Nate and Makar in the last round, Stars in 6.
@@cmpalmerif nichuskin didnt get suspended avs probably beat the stars in 6.... avs looked like the way better team till that happened
@@scout8424me neither. I don't know why everyone all of a sudden thinks oilers are dead to rights. Makes no sense. Oilers could beat anybody and did beat everybody in the reg season.... except for vancouve.r.. and oilers just won2 elimination games to take tbe series against van. Oilers score goals, and lots of em. It's gonna be a great series of close games.
Praying for the Oilers. Let’s bring it home to Canada
I'd pray they are going to lose but it's already obvious that's going to happen
This is probably the best series in the second round, who else agrees?
As a huge oilers fan, I agree!
Easily the best series in the playoffs thus far and the only other one that comes even remotely close is the Leafs-Bruins series.
We lost the series, but I agree, this is one of the best playoff series I have watched and definitely the best of this second round.
@@paano93 Idk man... the series score doesn't even remotely indicate just how close and competitive the Rangers/Canes series was.
@@paano93 in my opinion the Stars/VGK series was at least the second best series this far
Now Oilers fans, you better win the Cup. BRING IT BACK!
Not sure Oilers fans can do much about winning the Cup.
I feel like Dallas is too strong this season but its the playoffs to you never know
I haven't skated in like 10 years but I'll give it a shot I guess
Stars are going to win
Of the final 4 teams, Oilers would only be competitive against the Rangers with a Shesterkin injury.
Watching 91 and 91 was hilarious.
I think the Oilers have something special brewing. My hope is that McDavid's lingering injury eases up a little and lets him get back to his goal scoring ways. Not for nothing that he got 100 assists this year, but if he was dealing with an injury that would explain why he prefers to pass right now. All that aside, the Oilers defense deserves a lot of credit, keeping them in games that they had to right to be in, and protecting leads like no version of this squad has in the McDavid era. The special teams are both the best in the playoffs too, which makes the matchup with Dallas all the more interesting. Dallas is so well built and has so many answers, it will be interesting to see who steps up next for Edmonton. It will also be the first time in this playoffs that Edmonton enters a series as the true underdog, which hopefully means they play a lot more like they did in Game 6 and the first two periods of Game 7; hungry, high percentage shooting and scoring, just fast and fun hockey. Let's be honest, Edmonton playing for the cup would be more interesting than any of the alternatives. You know you'd want to watch just a little bit more.
Appreciate your videos.👍
Just to think Oilers were a bottom team of the league at one point and now they are playing for a chance to go to the Stanley cup, wow what a turn around
Remember, in '06 when they went to game seven of the finals, they had _barely_ squeaked into the playoffs.
relax. point wise, they were a bottom dweller, but that roster was massively underperforming bc of the immense pressure. this isn't like a st. louis blues turn around, where they were dead last in january.
@@Alex-js5lg Would have won that series too if if the Canes hadn't taken out our goalie.
@@rnonty why r u telling me to relax lmao, who cares if they had a "stacked roster" it CLEARLY didn't result in wins, idk why you are trying to argue with clear facts kinda weird dude
@DarkenSeyreth I know... Conklin ruined everything with his trip behind the net that went south
My fave hockey channel, great commentary as always
i have no favorite team, just an NHL fan… so i would like to see Connor get his first cup… i wanted Ovechkin to get it for years and he finally did in 2018… so hopefully the Oilers can upset 2 more teams🤞🏼
you're brainwashed then because no one likes mcdavid
Canucks fan here, but hell do I want these guys to win. Oilers played really well, and with the nucks out they better go all the way!
go all the way as the weakest team from the top 4?! 😂😂

As an oilers fan I'm happy we're moving on, but man the stars are a scary team 😢😅
Canucks fans should be damn proud, hell I'm proud of them and the fanbase. What a run for them.
Let's go Oil baby!!
Thanks for all the coverage you do Mr. Hawkey. I love this Oilers team with all my heart and I’m hooked up 24/7 to that copium IV. We bringing the cup back to Canada boys, she misses us

Rangers Oilers would be the most interesting cup imo
Not if you are in the marketing department in NYC.
Oilers were also pitted to lose, then they won 16 games in a row.
Hyman has been huge as well.
You're Awesome.
Great series. Nugent-Hopkins needs to shave that middle school stache though.
The celebration by the oilers was amped up because they knew how close they were to blowing it and having to sit with that loss all summer. To dominate a game like that for 2 periods and lose would have been devastating
best series i have ever watched
Edit: i am 14 and started watching hockey in 2017
What year did you start watching hockey lol
Must be ur first playoffs watching
it was ok, not even close to the best 7 game series
Try 1990 Smythe division semifinal between Oilers and Jets.....
Oilers win series after being down 3-1 in games and down 3-1 in game 5. It was a killer series to watch and great as an Oiler fan and guessing devestating as as Winnipeg fan
I know youre excited. But come on mannnnn. EVER WATCHED?? Canada Cup? Olympics? Literally ANY series in the 90s. Watch more hockey and come back. This series was very good. But not even in the top 50
Boeser getting scratched in game 7 sucks. Im a oiler fan but him missing is a crazy disadvantage.
Let's be real this series was a race to who gets crushed by Dallas.
i wanna see edmonton win and go to the cup. speaking as a bruins fan.
What a great 2nd Season this has been!
This Canucks fan has licked his wounds and is ready to jump on the Oilers bandwagon. Let’s go Oilers. Bring that cup back home.
Great classic series
Im a canucks fan, i think Stars in 6
McDavid's reaction was a combination of being beaten by Canucks all season long, including some embarrassing losses, the stressful nature of a one-goal game 7, and the fact that his team has bought him some time to recover from his injury/illness. He hasn't looked McDavid standards at all so far, and I'm wondering if he knows that his team mates stepping up has given him the time to get back to his best for a serious test against the Stars.
Shoutout to Holloway playing amazing game 6 and 7
Yes, he was doing McDavid things - incredibly impressive.
Atta boys Oilers. Wayyy to fkin go 💙🔥
Oilers are the only Canadian team I’m behind. I’d like to see FL & Edmonton in the finals.
Gonna be wearing my stars jersey for the foreseeable future
This playoffs has been my favorite in many years. Usually you have your "heavy favorites" but this year I could've saw Dallas, Edmonton, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Vegas, Colorado, Florida, Carolina, NY, Boston...or the Islanders (jk)...all possibly playing for the cup.
I can't wait to see these play out. Dallas vs Florida or Edmonton vs NY would be a great final
Stars are no slouches and arguably have more angst than the Oilers do in terms of proving themselves, as an Avs fan, I hope the Oilers can pull it off, but Stars in 6.
I really want the Oilers to win. There's what I want to happen (realistically) Oilers in 7 games. I'll keep what I'm expecting to myself.
I agree, I really really hope the Oilers can pull it off, but Dallas just took out the last 2 Cup Champions and look like they're rolling hard. Its gonna be an exciting series!
@@salemortgagesthey were cups Champs in the previous two years and were far from their greatness in those years. There's new cup contenders now and Dallas has to beat one of them.
Oilers in 6, then beating rangers in finals
I'm thinking Dallas in 5.
This series going to 6 but dallas might be too much. Then again it's the playoffs and Edmonton is a resilient team so a thing can happen.
Let’s go Oilers
If Edmonton beats the Stars I genuinely think they will come into the cup finals as a very intimidating team. But all it really takes is Jake Oettinger to steal the series if he plays well as Bobrovsky did against Tampa. But Dallas has a great team, Edmonton needs to truly step up their game to beat them, and then the Panthers or New York in the finals. I'd love to see the cup go back to Canada but It will not be easy as all these teams are truly unbelievable. This might be the most competitive conference finals on both sides, never seen anything like it, anything could happen.
I have Dallas in 6. If The Oilers win, it also sheds light on just how good The Canucks are as a team.
Oils in 7.
Man, that rocket by Ceci. That was nice to see.
And, I have to go Oilers in 7.
its because canucks focused so hard on covering mcdavid it lead his teammates to have great opportunities, of which they capitalized on.
Oilers in 6. I'm from Colorado so it's an objective view.
🤣
HELL YEAH LFGO
Oilers In 7
GET WELL SOON
Doesn’t matter who moves on. It will be great hockey and the fans are the real winners. The east will bring the same excitement.
McDavid gets and deserves the cup
Cody “flipping” Ceci. That’s good.
What a ride this series was. Bouchard has been crucial for us. Big props to Vancouver, you guys had an incredible season. Gotta beat Dallas for the Chalice.
silovs is the GOAT
it was a good test for them to get by without Mcdavid putting the team on his back. He should get a little more room with Dallas so hopefully he can have a killer series
I'd love to see the Oilers take it, but damn it is going to be a grind against Dallas.. Soo many weapons. It's going to be a really good series.
I say this as an Oilers fan: If McD and Drai were 100% I can see them taking this series to 6 or 7 games, but they aren't and the Oilers depth scoring that's been there during the season hasn't really been there in the playoffs. Foegle & MacLeod namely. Though I think they've played well and most importantly they haven't allowed many GA.
I think the balanced and deep Stars team will even out against Oilers superstars, and it will come down to goaltending where Dallas has the clear edge. The realistic hockey fan in me says Dallas in 5 (not to say that the Oilers won't make them work for it) but I'd love Oilers in 7. The hockey world needs to see McDavid in the Cup Final.
Stars in 6
This next round feels like the cup finals for the 3rd year in a row. I'd be shocked if the winner of this series doesn't win the cup
east conference always has better teams. It just depends on how bad the eastern conf beats each other up for the west conference to win the cup tbh.
Florida would have cooked Vegas if it wasn't for like 12 players being injured and 4 playing through serious injuries like broken sternum, high ankle sprain, dislocated shoulder, torn oblique.
@@anonymous134ythat’s just wrong. In 2022 for example Colorado would’ve absolutely smashed any team in the East. The problem I see for most Eastern teams is that they live and die by goaltending. If Shesty goes cold or Bob decides to shit the bed again like he didn’t in last years finals I see an easy win for whoever comes out of the West, Edmonton and Dallas both have offense that the Rangers and Panthers can’t match.
Florida and New York are definitely both favorites over Dallas and Edmonton.

Go Oilers!
Stars in 7!!!
Oilers dominated game 6 and 7. Canucks made game 7 much closer late in the 3rd than they should have, but the Oilers had that one from puckdrop.
Canucks have a bright future, but this year was not their year. Oilers know it's probably now or never.
❤❤
Mcdavids had something hurt all year, 60 goals to 30 but he’s so good he adjusted his game to be the first to 100 assists in over a decade 😂
And I thought THIS series was fun to watch. The next one will be insane. Really don't care who wins on the East.
You guys say stuff about the oilers saying its never over till its actually over for them but keep this in mind, the canucks weren't supposed to make the playoffs according to everyones playoff predictions. And the oilers have consistantly made the playoffs with pretty much the same roster the past couple years which makes them a playoff team and the canucks managed to bring them to game 7 without demko and without boeser in game 7.
You can tell that 97 isn't 100%. But even at his 90% he's on par with everyone else. Hockey pundits are finally talking about it as well.
21 points in 12 games is not "on par with everyone else" in any way
Oilers in 7 again

Connor could barely even speak in the post game interview 😂 he was apologizing for going horse
A lot of people are writing the Oilers off, which is fair, but they have two of the best players in the world easily. Anything can happen
Would love to see Edmonton take it but goalies win series. And the stars look scary regardless
Congratulations Oilers, now bring Lord Stanley to our country and give Garry Buttman the finger.
It's entertainment. Based out of NYC. Do you really think the calls on 7 one goal games are going to go Edmonton's way, when it's Dallas (population?) Vs NYR or FLA? Not a chance. One select call a game, that will decide a game/series. Mark my word.

@@IPendragonIfuck u nobody cares what u think
You can’t honestly tell me they were built with that in mind. They have no defence or goaltending
oilers in seven defensive play and great goaltending is the key they will always score
What line did dallas pair against mack's line in the aves series?
They rolled their first and second pairings against Mackinnon's line. The problem with the Stars is they have two very solid Defensive pairings and 3 lines that can all score at essentially equal paces.
Colorado learned the hard way that you really can't match lines against the Stars with the way they're built. No one big superstar, but a core filled with relatively equal participants.
..and that Stars lineup at 2:30 is without Hintz
Gonna be tough for Edmontons depth to compete with I think.
Johnny as much I love Edmontons story I have Dallas in 6
Even if the oilers get smoked, they had an insane season after being the 2nd worst team in the league with a record of 2-9-1, 16 game ws and a lot of respect. They made it this far after firing Jay and im very proud.
I don't see how Edmonton wins unless they are gifted an abundance of power plays.
Oilers baby 🏆🇦🇺🦘
Stars in 6...and that's being generous. Dallas is complete. The winner of the VGK/Dallas series was going to be the Western Conference representative.
I dunno.. the stars bracket was just so much tougher then the oilers. None the less that team is as tough as it gets.
If the oilers keep finding that next gear and play the way they did the last 2 games I think they can take dallas. They're going from the favorites to the underdogs. I think the most important part is them getting a couple wins in the first 4 games. If they can get to game 5 split then i can seem them dominating and willing their way to the Stanly cup final #GoOilers
I mean, were the Oilers really the clear favorites against Van? Vancouver came in on a division win that included some strong performance from a revolving door of goaltenders.
@@cmpalmer they were the favorite. Look it up
