Brilliant job of capturing the soul of the film. The ending of the movie never ceases to spook me the fuck out. Even knowing the twist, something psychologically still changes in that moment its revealed. You see her for her she really is. A pied piper of the devil who's leading these people to their doom. And they are doing it smiling, singing, and dancing. Bewitched by her pop music. That shot of Jude Law watching her really is so disturbing in that context.
There's a lot of tribute videos out there on UA-cam that amount to a disjointed montage with an unrelated pop song. This, however, manages to be a thing in itself: a carefully edited selection of clips & scenes that tell a story, together with a coherent soundtrack that fits the story being told. You've re-cut the motion picture into a short film. Bravo!
I went from loving the first half, to thinking this film is very mediocre, to WTF, ok, I need to re-watch this from the beginning, to, wow, ok, now I see why people loved this film so much. Thank you for making this tribute video.
I enjoyed this video. I watched this video a couple of times before I saw the movie, and now that I have watched the movie, this really gives a good idea of what all the interpretations and meanings of the movie could possibly be. I like the part where her younger self is explaining to the rock star about her dreams and how she sees different versions of herself and while she explains that (you briefly turn it into a voiceover) when you (simultaneously) show older her (Natalie Portman) and her daughter (Raffey Cassidy, who plays young Celeste, and Celeste's daughter). Suddenly, then, a realization dawned on me, as though I got a clearer interpretation and understanding of her dreams. You did a really good job editing this video.
Love the movie but I especially loved the first half of the film. I think raffey did an amazing job. I think she carried the entire movie. The grown-up version of Celeste was like a complete different person. I also couldn’t relate her hair and make up to any popstar that I can think of. she just looked like a Disney villain
That is why in my mind the film is so great, it's a near universal feeling that the kid you is almost a wholly different person from the adult you, and you have to try and reconcile the kid you and the adult and prove you are still the same person as that innocent kid. Her loss of innocence was when she made a deal with the devil according to what she told her sister and what is implied by her saying 'I've done something terrible' but really, she still seems the innocent kid when she sings Wrapped Up and when she first begins making songs in Europe. the corruption of innocence is due not only to the shooting but to the nihilism of corporate Americana and showbiz. She is like many celebrities with paparazzi and controversies, like using racial slurs and her addiction but she is a human and in the backstage room where she is hugging Jude Law and crying to her sister we see that she is a person and wants to be treated like one. The ' These killers should believe in me, i am a new god' line (not verbatim) is not the true her but the facade she uses. This film is like Citizen Kane though not as good aesthetically but it still gets me choked up. I would recommend Armond White's review of the film/
Its a batshit crazy film in some ways. Portmans accent is pretty distracting. Yet its a film with a vision and lots of ideas that leaves you thinking about it for a long time afterwards. I admire them for going right out there and doing something weird and different.
There is another tragedy after the very last shot - it is not shown but implied with the "colours". That is where things have been building up to, most probably another mass shooting. That is why Celeste has nervous breakdown before the concert, tries to sedate herself with drugs and actually sits down and prays with her daughter before the concert. It is not for the victims of Croatia shooting, it is for the future victims of the concert that is about to take place. Too bad the director didnt have the chops to handle this story perfectly.
I think this is far too literalist of an interpretation that it actually edges on the fantastical. I believe the mirroring between the final performance and the opening scene of the school shooting was a circular conclusion about how celebrity is itself an act of terrorism. I think there needs far more contextual clues in the literal sense to conclusion another shooting happened at the end, but I think it can be more accurately asserted that celebrity, especially within cultural collapse is a sort of terrorism, as worship congregates around a lifeless person, hollowed into a monument of whatever the audience wants them to be. And in that art is something, existentially horrifying, that lives within us all.
The song she sings as a child is especially haunting once you understand the meaning of the lyrics
This is incredible.

The film is a masterpiece. So is this. Mad props, Chandler.
e v Thank you so much!! That means so much to me!
Was blown away by this film and the risks it took. Brave, and beautiful, and masterful. Everyone involved in this piece of art should be very proud.
What a *fantastic* movie!! Very avant garde & I love it!! 💎💎💎🏆💖

I understand. Watching this video makes the movie seem like a hidden gem; like, it sort of gives it David Lynch vibes.
I still love this freaking movie
Glad I finally met someone else who likes this movie 💖

Bellissimo film lei bravissima
In the concert scene when the lights go out and you see her silhouette she looks like the Pazuzu statue from The Exorcist

That was great... no GREAT! Serious.

I Think The shooting in Croatia was another sacrifice for the devil.
I seen this in real life, right? Someone sung at a shooting press conference.
you did a better job then the actual director lol
Cool edit but I still didnt understand the film. I guess I'm a stupid man.
Far from stupid. I don't get it either.
