1:08:00 I guess Burning Pact pre Battle Trance gives you outs to hit Ascender’s Bane for Evolve value before you become draw disabled? It looks like we didn’t draw 2 when we tranced into it. But also we had more energy to potentially top afterwards so Idk what the best line is 😮 Cool interactions!
9:20 hahaha 😂 “but the whole point is it changes in ways that you can’t know… I freaking knew you were going to do this.” comedic timing at its finest.
34:46 honestly with pyramid you could do a fiend fire everything else but anger and just keep playing anger infinitely scaling strength the whole time lol would be cool
Judging by the thumbnail, I’m going to enjoy this video, heavy blade is like in my top three iron clad cards, idk if it’s the animation or the numbers you can hit for with it but I really enjoy a good strength heavy blade deck
This was really exceptionally bad card rewards in this game IMO. He really just did not get offered what he wanted and had to constantly be taking alternatives and making it work. This type of run would just make me so frustrated if I was the one playing.
Exactly, this type of a run would just tilt me and there are like 40 points in this run where I would've died super easily. It makes it that much more impressive that top runners like Baalor can still pilot these kinds of runs into a Heart kill.
Relic idea that occurred to me for no reason while watching: Can no longer view draw/discard piles, every turn remove a card from discard and shuffle into draw.
I admit that I suck at the game, but I would definitely have invested in Apotheosis there just because of peace pipe. Feels like a virtually unlimited amount of removes, but then I may have just died to Slime Boss.. :)
I think you could have gotten the infinite against the awakened one at 1:32 by exuming the fiend fire. You'd be left with only an Anger and a second wind. But I might be wrong haha
So the system in base spire that handles randomness you can think of as a huge deck of cards arranged in a very specific order for various game features - like enemy AI, what event you get, what combat you get, card reward order, relic reward order etc. How it was supposed to work was that the visible seed you see was used to create a bunch of different decks for each of these different elements of the game. Instead there was an oversight in the implementation which meant that the underlying random deck of numbers for a bunch of these features ended up being clones of each other in a given run. This meant through a tedious process of playing out fights you could reverse engineer that underlying deck, then use that information to predict with 100% accuracy the random results for a whole host of things later in the run. This was a tedious process that was not intended by the developers, but is technically optimal play. This mod fixes this by making the random generation no longer correlated like this. This means that top end players interested in competing won't feel compelled to do this tedious process, and/or won't feel like they're playing sub-optimally by not doing this tedious process, and lets them compete in a version of the game they feel is more true to the spirit of Slay the Spire.
@@fatalfencer So, if I understand it correctly the mod only prevents you from knowing what is the next floor encounter cuz its no longer determined by previous outcomes? which means if you use the same seed you can still have exactly the same run but you wont be able to know what is drawn until you check it at least once? (sorry if i'm making it confusing - its a really hard topic for me)
@@damianboluminski8327 no need to be sorry, random number generation is not an easy topic! Yeah you basically got it right. With the mod, you can still re-use seeds in order to have the same/similar experience more than once and try different paths, but you won't be able anymore to predict what's next if you haven't seen it yet. It also apparently happens to change some of the really esoteric hidden rules some people have learned over the years from slay the spire, that happened to be people accidentally learning to recognize some of this correlated randomness (eg. the discussion they were having about it being impossible to get a normal event right after getting a "shrine" event seems like it wasn't an intended rule and has been fixed by this mod).
it attempts to fix correlated randomness which is when the game pulls 2 values from the same seed. the examples are incredibly niche but if you encounter a shrine there is a high chance of a combat and I think if you got cultist on the first floor the second floor is 60% chance to be another combat
Baalor's streaks are all invalid because of that mod that makes you have an orb slot with prismatic shard. It tangibly is a change to the game and the fact that people use it annoys me. Don't call it the real game if you're modding.
I watch every Ironclad run to see how far into the run I would eff it up.
Accidentally exhausts my whole deck
WHOOPS
@@aldogutierrez6637 I need an actual abacus 🧮 before I fiend fire half my deck. Baalor’s like “we don’t need these 8 cards right?” 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Skipping the bottled Clothesline for the blue key only to draw Clothesline on turn one against Lagavulin was incredible 😂
2 hour video? Frozen eye when?
Dang, that was one of the runs of all time, right there! Very impressive managing to scrape through that Act 2!
That tiny chest on act 2 was hilarious! 😂😂 gotta love the spire
Truly incredible run! I would’ve died 10/10 times in act I and act II, but you managed to tactically build and pilot that deck. Super well played!
Great run - that Act 2 struggle was impressive.
Bruh I cant jog on my treadmill for 2 hours
Exercise bike instead
I had a great strength run last night love doing 300 damage with 1 heavy blade

Just as I was asking the question, baalor answered - i knew he still had the a20 rotating. That one is gonna be a toughie to beat
I would have lost that so hard, love to see a good player nail it.
"There's definitely ways to pilot this deck wrong from here."
Sure, just put me in charge

Unfortunately it was only really used at the end of the run 😅 anger carried
But that last hit was righteous

Yeah I’m looking at our calculating Fiendfire lines and thinking: “Wait we don’t have a Feel No Pain or Dark Embrace?!” 😂😂
In my two years hanging with baalord and friends that was single best dad jokes of the series

@13:11 why did you not play a block when you had 2 energy left? What's the drawback there of playing a block? Beginner question.
I always forget that Baalor is Canadian until he pronounces something violently Canadian like at 34:52
I love that although you're done with the challenge, you're still all about getting some more StS runs in! Thanks for you content as always!
I had no Idea you could use artifact to not lose the strength of the flex potion that is big new knowledge
Artifact also blocks snecko's confusion, biased cognition's focus loss and wraith form's dexterity loss while still retaining their bonuses
you can use the potions in either order too so if you have 2 flex and an artifact you can keep the 10 strength
@@icantpronounce clockwork + Flex is one of the most satisfying combos if you have limit break

The audio doesn't seem to be synced
33:29 why did he only get 39 gold back?
In all 4 shops he was offered a evolve. I wonder what the odds are of that
@baalorlord what is the piece of art you have in the back? Have always wondered it is awesome! Keep up the amazing work x
The black thing? I think he talked about it in a recent video... it's a sound dampening thing to reduce echoing and outside noise when he streams
Noo the actual artwork to the left of the soundproofing! Thanks for reply though mi amigo
Baalor should make some Hermit videos

Why don’t like sword boomerang on floor 1?
Small damage to random things, too unreliable
