    I had a swinger 340 but I see a lot of people switched to holley carb, I did a little work to the motor and the carter worked great switch the needle and seat and it worked great and the electric choke great.

    First car I rode to high school in, same color! Fast times @ St. Charles high, David Bruckers car was sweet. Only spun on one side though. I think it had a column shifter

    I had the 76 Bicentennial Duster with the Red,White,and Blue stripe in the bucket seats and also on the back bench seat and it had the red,white,and blue stripe going down the side of the car on both sides with an eagle head at the end of it and it had a six cylinder in it.

    1971 Duster didn't have the pistol grip shifter. It had to have been swapped from Cuda.

    • @dbc1dc
      @dbc1dc 2 роки тому

      True. That particular shifter was in the '71 B bodies, Chargers, Roadrunners, etc. Longer than the E-body shifter but shorter than the previous year B body shifter.

    So much fun to drive. Put the best shocks in it if your going to drive it. And you should if you get it. Drive it. Lots of compression. Cam.

    Don't care for the color myself but mine, bought new in 1972, was a 3-speed Sky Blue 340 with a bench front seat. The 3-speed was awesome on the street. When opponents were shifting from first to second, I was still accelerating in first and would usually get a car length or two advantage.

      I have a 1972 3 speed that my dad bought in 1973. This is a super rare car because it's a 3 speed. The 4 speeds were the most common back then.

      @@mbp7060 When I began my search I wanted the 3-speed. The 4-speed was an extra $400. I ran across my original bill of lading the other day. I plan on keeping it.

    Oh yes the “ good old days”, late 1970’s when I owned 70 340 Duster Green, Ran low 11's at Baylands Race Way in Fremont California, from Milpitas, California MADE a list of cars I won against! Never lost a race, this car hooked up on the street These cars were plentiful and cheap back then. They were on every block and high school parking lot in California even a primer gray neglected Super Bird.
    By the way kids worked on their own cars, just add a new cam, headers and intake plus carburetor ?

      Michael Adamcik most likely yes . the pistol grip shifter is pretty tall so i could see that happening . probably why it wasnt an option in dusters or any a body mopars . i have a 71 duster factory h code 4 speed car that was converted to automatic back in the mid 1980s when it was raced . its got a 727 torqueflite reverse manual valve body with shift kit , 3200 stall converter with a b&m quicksilver shifter .

    This may be a stupid question, but when you say 4 speed do you mean 4 forward speeds and 1 reverse, or does that mean reverse counts as a gear?

    • @barnfreshclassics8893
      @barnfreshclassics8893  7 років тому +4

      maskedavenger777 A wise man told me once that there is no such thing as a stupid question :) Reverse is never counted as a gear, 4 speed means 4 for forward. 3 speed means 3 gears forward and so on.

    Ok "realllly nice car" but----numbers match? Original equipment? Why not show under the hood? The engine has been significantly modified - you don't put a cam like that in a short-stroke motor without beefing up other stuff like exhaust, rear end ratio, and carburation.
