The Miss Peregrines Home for Perculiar children books are AWESOME!! I’ve recently found your channel and am listening to the Narnia series for years ago and it’s amazing!
Classic, I was planning to recommend Don Quixote before you posted this. It is quite likely my favorite book, and hard to beat Dumas for a solid 2nd choice…..
Some great books on the list here Lewis. I would have to suggest the Canterbury Tales by Chaucer. My brother studied this for A Level before going to University to Study Mathematics. He is very much a numbers person and Literature was more ‘my thing’ but he kept talking to me about this. He was also studying Wuthering Heights at the same time. I have never read either book fully through but as tight a choice as it is I would opt for the Chaucer. There is a lot of depth and breadth in this work. I have a few more suggestions for you Lewis but I will email those to you. I am on holiday at the moment and have been for the last few weeks. Which is why I have not been able to listen in as much recently. But I will be listening in tonight to the next round of Gurdjieff reading. For me, this is a must! I have really enjoyed all of the Gurdjieff material that you have covered so far. Excellent reading and thoroughly compelling viewing. And all that for ‘merely’ a reading channel!! Amazing what you can achieve. Looking forward to this evening. Keep up the great work. Best wishes, A dedicated fan of the Book Club.
I particularly like the Brontè novels .. did Jane Eyre for o level.. utterly brilliant story. By the way they were 3 sisters Charlotte Emily and Anne. For my choice at this point... (sorry) I would love it if you finished the Lord of the Rings. Been hanging out for that .. or did I miss the third book ??
Thanks for sharing that info about the Brontë sisters. We moved away from the Lord of the Rings because of some potential copyright issues. We may get round to it at some point. 👍
I watched a video today about a ship wreck involving James riley. He wrote a book called Sufferings in Africa. Apparently it influenced abraham Lincoln. I'd love to hear your lovely voice read it. I don't know much about it but based on his story I think it would be interesting. Circa 1817. Ty for your great channel. I'm very happy to have found. ❤
I'd love the three musketeers to be in there. Always wanted to read it.
“Wuthering Heights” got it on my shelf - ready to start reading it with you, Sir. 👌🏼
Me too ! 😊
