Thank you so much for this! My skin is really sensitive to hyaluronic acid: makes me drier (I already have dry skin) and tends to break me out. I've found I'm personally best off not using it, but it's pushed on me so much with marketing. I'm glad it's definitely not something I need to go out of my way to include in my skin care routine.

Thank you for the info. So much push out there to use a separate Hyalauronic Acid Serum, but since the ingredient is in everything else with sensitive skin I glad to hear I don't need a separate serum. I try to stay simiple.

Thanks for sharing Elle I will be honest I've been in a hurry and.my vitamin c serum has hyaluronic acid in it I need to remember to put the essence on I've grabbed my water spray Evian so I will make it a point to slow down because I do have dry skin love your content 😊 💞
Depends on the quality of ingredients used in HA. I’ve tried almost every brand & my favorite by far is SkinMedica HA5 which I use everyday with my mild toner. I use it during the day and put on a moisturizer then my sunscreen. My nighttime routine is when I used my skincare serums. I don’t pay attention to trends or what people are talking about on TikTok which I don’t have. I have no issues using HA5 on a daily basis. My skin is more on the oily side so dryness isn’t an issue.
Yes, hyaluronic acid can vary for sure on the quality. But you always wanna apply it to damp skin no matter your skin type or the product. ❤️

great info as always. I haven’t been on the HA train for my skin. I do like a drop rubbed into my hair and I dumped a half bottle into a bath and it was probably the most luxurious bath of all time. My skin was so happy.
Omg your makeup!!! So freakin stunning. I stopped using HA. Didn't like the way my skin felt after using it. I use beta glucan now from Iunik & I love it so much more

I live in Michigan so needless to say my skin is lifeless and dead with this horrible, cold weather!
I previously decided to give up on HA until stumbling across this video. I have a Cerve hydrating toner (alcohol free) on hand. Used that first, then applied my HA on damp skin, then locked it in with moisturizer. Wow! I can't wait to see how dewy my skin is going to be in the morning. I can already feel a difference.

My "beef" with HA is that it's now being added to multiple cosmetic products.
Can this overload the skin and, maybe, cause dryness?
Tbh, I try to avoid buying makeup that proudly claims to have HA in the ingredient list. Of course, it may be lower down the list but, in my extremely humble opinion, it all adds up.

There is one more thing. If the humidity in the air lower than 65 %, no matter what you put on and under Hyaluronic Acid, it will draw moisture out of the skin soon or later.
I think that marketing could convince us of almost anything! The same thing happened with niacinamide..it was being promoted and put in everything! I think it’s a matter of the right tool for the job but you don’t need the entire toolbox all the time.

Depends on the consistency of the HA. No need before vit c

So I have been using HA as step 2 after Moonlight.
SHOULD I start with
1. Essence
2. HA
3. Moonlight
4. Moisturizer?

Wish I would have known this. Just bought a separate hyaluronic serum from a company called beaut beauty. It’s amazing people selling things they have no idea about their products. Now I need help. I use Paula’s choice hyaluronic acid toner and then use Josie Moran MILK FIRST, along w her VIT C and Argan oil along w her spf Argan oil So when would I use the hyaluronic acid w that all those products. I hate throwing it out I have been using it wrong. What is the essence you use? When do you suppose I use the hyaluronic serum. I did notice today my skin was flaky.

So you still think I should use it after hyaluronic toner? I’m going nuts. 😜 the one thing I hate about my 66 year old skin lately is it look dull. I want the glow to my skin. What else would you recommend. Unfortunately, I can’t afford all the essences what would you recommend. I’m thinking of changing my entire skin care routine at this point. You stated after the toner. I guess I will try that.
