- A change of scenery is good especially if the new fishing spot is really beautiful. Contra Loma Reservoir did not disappoint. It is picturesque filled with nice cover for bass. Trout fishing was challenging but was worth the trip. An Anglers Lifestyle Moment.

Giant largemouth in that lake. I’ve caught multiple 10 pounders there. They stock it with big trout and catfish as well

At the opposite end of that dock from where your pole was in the intro video if you cast straight off the corner closest to the lake straight down the shoreline about 15 to 20 yards there's a deep hole that you will pull trout and catfish out of all day long and very large ones at that you just have to use a 24 to 36 in leader if you're using powerbait or something like that to keep the bait above the weeds and recommend using 8 to 12 lb fluorocarbon 4 liters

Hey Robert! Which pole are you talking about in the intro? There were a few. I’ve been hitting contra loma because I live close by and I would love to try out a new spot.
@Anglers Lifestyle, I have only been to Contra Loma once, and I was on the East Side towards the dam, and I didn't see any wooden docks. Is this on the west side towards the dam?
How do you get there? Do you park over by the swimming area and walk over?

Generally morning and late afternoon is best for trout. Mid day is tough because fish will go deep for cooler water column. Thanks for watching.
