  • Maintenance workers at a Houston apartment complex get a service call for a broken dishwasher. As they make repairs, a child can be heard crying in another room. The workers find a toddler, lying on the living room floor under a blanket. Lifting the blanket, the girl's limbs are duct-taped together. The workers call Houston police.
Police take the girl to the hospital, where doctors say she might not have survived the night had she not been brought in for care. KPRC reports the child is non-verbal and suffering from physical and psychological abuse. Doctors discovered she also suffered a brain bleed caused by head trauma, anemia, and kidney failure as a result of the abuse. She is also extremely emaciated.
The girl's guardian and cousin, Toniesha Deshae Perkins, Perkins' boyfriend, Kenry Flukers, and the toddler’s teen aunt, Mya Jhari Breaux-McGruder, are now charged with injury to a child and unlawful restraint.

I was horribly abused as a child in unspeakable ways. I wasn't taught those things were wrong, I KNEW THEY WERE WRONG. I never abused my children. Being abused as a child is absolutely NOT an excuse to abuse your child.

I'm so sorry for you living a nightmare instead of the happy childhood that all kids deserve. I hope your children inherit your strength and grow into the same loving and compassionate human that you've become and thank you for not continuing the cycle of abuse that, unfortunately, plagues so many families. ❤❤❤❤

I was an abused child and left home at 14 years old, when I had children I was a better parent because I didn’t want them to feel the way I felt growing up. I can not understand how someone could want someone else to feel the same pain that they felt. If you don’t want the child give them up. I never even had a babysitter, my husband and I worked different shifts so we could make sure our children had the care they needed. I pray for all abused children. My children are all grown. My husband has since passed, I wish I had a big house and a lot of money to foster some abused children to give them the love and attention they need and deserve.

The one that haunts me is the 4-year old girl who had been duct-taped to a high-chair in a basement and had strangled trying to escape. Her foster mother, abuser and killer was a supervisor at Child Protective Services or the Department of Family Services whatever it’s called in their city. Her biological mother wasn’t even abusive, just young and poor. She was doing everything she was made to do to kids her kids back but the department kept moving the goalpost and finding fault. Potentially because the murdered girl was lovely, and she had a much younger baby sister (pretty white baby) that was apparently very desirable to potential adoptive families. 🤢🤮

Oh I believe it. I was a new foster mom and was fostering the most gorgeous little boy (he really did look like he could have been a baby model) I heard one of workers at CPS say that he was "so cute and SOOO ADOPTABLE" he was in my care because his mother had weed (she admitted she smoked but never inside the home or around her son) sure enough, he was adopted to a wealthy family when his mom did everything by the book in terms of trying to reunite with her baby. Goal of CPS is family renunciation but it surely wasn't for this little boy. Out of all the families whose children I fostered, she was the youngest and she was the ONLY one to ever bring me diapers , snacks, toys, whatever she thought her baby would need. She was the only one tell me what her child liked & didnt like so i could know her baby better, she was the only one to ever ask how he was doing whem we met up for visitation. She wanted to still feel involved. I truly feel her baby was stolen. He'd be about 16 now, I hope he's doing well 😢
Ps another little boy I had, whose baby brother was killed ( detached retinas, broken bones etc) was given back to mom in less than 2months. Make it make sense 😢😢😢

This is patently untrue. Foster care is absolutely overwhelmed with children no one wants. As of 2021, there were approximately 400,000 children in the US foster care system. Of those, approximately 113,000 were up for adoption. Statistically speaking, only 25% of children in foster care are ever adopted, and the chances of adoption go down exponentially for every year older a foster child gets: Only 1 in 4 adopted children are ages 6-10; 1 in 6 are ages 11-15; and only 4% are over the age of 15. Those numbers decrease even further if the child is a minority.
You're actually even more off base than even THAT... Unwanted children in foster care are so numerous that approximately 15% of them don't even live in homes. They live in institutions, group homes and shelters. Some even live in juvenile detention facilities, though they have committed no crimes, because their states are so overwhelmed.
I beg of you, do your research before you talk out of your ass.
