Juan Camilo Aguilar is awesome! I came here to live in Medellín 2 months ago from Las Vegas, and I don't know how I could have done it without Juan Camilo! He stayed in touch with me for the 2 or 3 months prior to leaving the U.S., picked me up from the airport when I arrived, brought me to my hotel (the nice, inexpensive one in Laureles he recommended), we went to the mall together and got my cell phone plan set up, we went together to use a safe and secure ATM, we went together and exchanged my U.S. dollars for pesos Colombianos, he showed me how to use the Metro (public transportation), he helped me find a great Airbnb, he even helped me make a doctor's appointment and went with me on the day of the appointment! Juan Camilo Aguilar, totally recommended for anyone coming here to visit or stay.
how does he charge for his services? Since he seems to do a bit of everything, is it like hourly, on a 'project basis", or just a flat fee? Also, is it gringo prices?
you both seem so confused about what social media IS and what it DOES. and yet you've been making videos for quite some time..but you seem so surprised and actually *offended* that you've been recognized at times..& wow, that's kind of unreasonable to expect to never be recognized...and sorry it was so difficult for you.....being recognized. and I'm actually someone who has NOT approached the handful of somewhat and/or widely known public figures I've seen in person, myself....except for 1 widely known book author & teacher, who I admire and respect very much...who, luckily, seemed honest when he told me he really appreciated that I decided to approach him. but point being, I imagine far more people who recognized you did NOT approach you than DID approach you..but considering the negative reaction you shared that - at the end of the day - you had toards the ones who *did* gather the courage TO approach you (who I hope were not badly behaved), you're quite right to end this channel..because it would only get far worse, for you, if you kept making new videos. and sorry I'm not able to pay for any of your paid Patreon membership levels..that you say in your channel admin, pinned comment, is the way we can continue to follow what you'll be continuing doing? but it's a bit confusing because you say @ the $5 level, after you announced no longer making new content & why: "By becoming a Patron you'll support Sam & Tacha to keep creating UA-cam videos about the Expat life in Latin America." I mean, because you said you're done with THIS channel..and you're doing new things??..but your linked Patreon page in your video description, it doesn't reflect that at at all...not as of the past few minutes, anyway. in any case, thanks for the videos you've already made??..I guess?? if that's ok??...and again, good luck for your future, best of luck to you both.

You gave a perspective that was useful thank you. With grit and digital nomadism I would say you can make good money here. You didn’t feel that was possible when I reached out, but with luck and grit you can do it, via corporate route or Western startups and at global level of income. Great channel, even though I'm a gringo but feel more Colombian these days than American due to my Colombian wife of 11 years. It would be nice if I didn't have to fly back to the states but we all have to make a living .I still wake to up to cumbia and salsa every morning even in the states and visit my favorite Colombian restaurant in South Florida. Even though I've spent years en la tiera querida I found your sanity and intelligence enlightening and useful and found myself nodding and agreeing with your perception of Colombia. Hey! never commented, but watched most of you r videos.Specially the past 6 months or so . i was in colombia 3 times. You actually made me feel like i can go there and leave. Then when you said you're (probably) going to Italy, close to home and all that, well just wanted to say that b watching your videos and decisions, and you 2 together, made me realise 2 things: 1- I don't think of colombia as long term. maybe at all. 2- I need to find a good partner, probably best from my country, like you guys are together, than the 2 colombian that i've had relationships and it didn't go well at all. now i'm not blaming you of course or anything like that :) just sharing my conclusion, my thoughts about my life, maybe it's better when you have a partner from your country, that really understand your culture, language, visa wise it's way easier of course. Well you can never know what the future holds, but it's what we make of it. Endings are always sad, but then again, you've got each other and that's the best. no matter where you'll be, i'm sure you do just fine. sorry for the long post (again... my first and probably last here lol)

It is true that after seeing numerous videos of any content producer viewers develop a sense of connection even though that relationship is one-way. When I receive Facebook friend requests or LinkedIn requests from individuals I have no connection to it is somewhat odd. Anyway best wishes in your new home.
