    I can honestly say that I have learned more from Roxy than from any other MTB videos on youtube! Sincere gratitude!

    So agree! I am far less experienced as a MTBer , but I’ve been a skier for 57 years and taught for 35 years and all the video watching and tips and tricks no matter how you learn them won’t magically make anyone a top rider. However knowledge is very much a part of getting better and progress is quicker when your not figuring it all out by yourself. In fact one of the most detrimental improvement killers is doing a whatever….wrong and making the wrong movement pattern your go to learned response.
    Your instructions are very well explained and I have done many of the exercises you have shown and tried to bring the knowledge to my trails. At my age I don’t want to waste time making bad choices if avoidable and becoming the best rider I can be will help me both find greater enjoyment from my riding as well as being able to offer someone else solid advice if I can be of help. Thanks again and keep up the great content!!!

    I definitely agree with you assessment of the benefit of regular coaching compared to a one day clinic. Personally I came into mountain biking from a skiing and tennis background. I was fortunate to have received good coaching in both sports. In turn I eventually became a tennis coach and placed great emphasis on using drills to build skills. My mountain bike skills developed by riding with several experienced riders who had good technical skills. Getting feedback from them while riding helped. Some days I go to a technical section alone and ride it several times to practice for the next group ride. I also believe that many of my ski skills crossed over to my trail riding. Riding a flow line or downhill trail feels like skiing to me. I already have a feeling for momentum and looking at where I want to go.

    Strong and true perspective, as a 61 yo beginner I will follow your advise and start at the bottom of the pyramide. Although I already enjoy my adventures on the tracks.

    The only think I disagree with is that with any new language, the swear words are the first thing you learn! 😂

    I completely agree but we may have to travel and take a clinic if we don’t have any coaches nearby to take regular lessons with.

      Or you work with me - www.Roxybike-Coaching.com 🤗 this works wherever you are. In my experience regular coaching online is MUCH more effective and cheaper than visiting camps/clinics regularly - as you allow your body the time it REALLY needs to learn skills.
      Because building skills is like building muscle. It takes time, structured practice and commitment. ☺️

    Dear Roxy, I deny my total admiration for your videos. On the theoretical level, I can follow them. In moving on to practice, I am sometimes afraid of experiencing something risky because I only have a front bike and use quick release pedals. Also I have always had a favorite foot for release and with the other foot I am not fast enough to release.
    This is why I don't even experiment many things even though you know how to magically introduce them.
    Do you think I should overcome fear and accept falling sometime or that I should wait until I have (the money for) a more trail oriented bike on which to mount flat pedals?

    • @Roxybike_Ride.and.Inspire
      @Roxybike_Ride.and.Inspire  3 роки тому

      Hi Guiseppe, happy to hear you like my videos. What kind of bike do you have? Can you maybe use it with flat pedals, too? I can really recommend using a bike and pedals which will allow you to experiment and play - as these are essential for progress.
      I am not a fan of accepting the necessity of crashing, as you can also progress safely by increasing the complexity of your exercises step-by-step.

      @giuseppebuscemi179 3 роки тому

      Roxy, thanks for answering. The bike I am using is a Trek ProCaliber (100mm fork, no ammo, no dropper). Flat pedals would not be natural there, would they?

    • @Roxybike_Ride.and.Inspire
      @Roxybike_Ride.and.Inspire  3 роки тому +1

      @@giuseppebuscemi179 well no, they wouldn’t be “common” - but who cares if it’s common if it makes you feel more confident and enables you to practice more?

      Happy to hear you’re already down to reality ☺️😊
      Unfortunately, many people think this. They think, a clinic or coaching once a year will build lasting skills.
      And YES one day CAN be transformative (if you have a good coach), BUT you won’t be able to build SKILLS that day. All you build is knowledge and turning knowledge into ability takes time and repeated practice.
      And that’s the essence of this video - and that’s where structured, professional coaching over a long period comes into play and is much more effective than single day clinics.
