For all the folks chiming in about this method ruining the paint or the card scratching it, keep in mind that the adhesives or glues used to attach the decals in the first place have already softened up the vehicles paint, to a point! Chances are your not going to find a Cadillac under all that mess when your done! This is a quick fix to remove the glue and as long as you clean the areas you removed the glues and adhesives from, there shouldn't be any problem, but you should try this method in a small area first to see how your vehicles finish is going to react and don't be overly aggressive with the plastic or rubber scraper either! Also, you should buff the area's after with a foam pad and mirror finish.
I tried it. It worked. After 5 applications. Brake cleaner drys too quickly. Then I ran out of brake cleaner and got Topical orange cleaner out of my truck. The orange cleaner doesnt dry as fast and cuts the adhesive in half the time try it.
Wear some GLOVES.... OMG I watched several goo removal videos not one person was wearing protection That shit is harsh enough to dissolve the crap its getting into you bloodstream through your skin.... Seriously wear some gloves!!!
Worked very well for boat letter residue. Goop off loosened the decals and this process helped remove the residue.
