- Disney Afternoon was a syndicated television animation block on weekday afternoons during the 1990s. It brought with it a television animation renaissance. Shows like Darkwing Duck, Talespin, and Goof Troop brought to life new big budget animation on tv which prompted more cartoons to up their game.

Millennials: Let me guess, your home?
90s kids: It was. And it was beautiful.
I was in my early 20s when Disney Afternoon started, and I loved these shows. They had such a quality show with excellent stories. Such a departure from the kid shows that were clearly there just to sell product (He-man, GI Joe, Gobots). I was surprised to find my dad was watching Tail Spin every morning while getting ready for work He wasn't the cartoon type but he really loved it. When Bonkers came out though, it seemed really dumbed down. It was all about gags, but it was rarely funny. I looked up this video because I was thinking about how it just all went down the drain after that. With the exception of Aladdin, which I just watched for that segment.
You missed The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, which wasn't exactly Disney Afternoon but still worth mentioning with the other adaption shows.
I honestly missed a ton. I easily could have made this video over 30 minutes haha, but thats a good one.
Maybe once you do one for Disney's One Saturday Morning you could talk about Pooh Bear and you could talk about my attempt to reboot it.
@@ModernMouse Only one movie of the Disney Renaissance was also missing (I don’t care what anyone says, it’s more amazing than Pocahontas and as great as any other Renaissance film like the peak-Renaissance Disney animations of the early 1990s, Mulan, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Lion King and even Hercules): The Rescuers Down Under!

@Yensid951927 It was on foreign versions of the block. However, in 1988 Disney paired Gummi Bears and Winnie the Pooh for a 1 hour block that aired on Saturday mornings on ABC with similarities to TDA (Shortened Gummi Bears intro, similar style credits, and similar bumpers)
I used to cry at the end of each episode of the Disney afternoon when you see the magic kingdom and the end credits for each show

I grew up on all things Disney because my dad didn't spend money on cable television. I was there for Disney's Afternoon to ABC'S One Saturday Morning. I think it made kids back then appreciate what they watched more as you couldn't just watch it anytime you wanted. You had to make an effort to find out when it was on in your area and set that time to watch the block.
I remember the TV Guide magazine would come out every year with the new schedule for the fall season and I'd memorize what I was going to watch and when so I knew when to switch channels just as one show was ending so I could catch the intro to the next show.

I was a teen in the 90s. I loved most of these shows, including House Of Mouse. It was cool seeing all the characters from different Disney shows & movies interacting. :D
Although it debuted a little later, I agree it was pretty cool. It's one of the reasons I think Bonkers was such a great cartoon show as well despite it not taking off in popularity like the other big Disney Afternoon shows.
I feel like we were spoiled with great quality shows. Born in 80s but grew up in the 90s. Darkwing Duck was my absolute favourite but so many others of those shows I loved. Imagine telling your past self how easy you can access all of those shows nowadays!!!
I remember a few years ago when they all got dropped on DVD I had to have a few. Now they are so easy to see and when people recommend a show to me I just find it on my own time. It's wild to think about!
That’s why for me, the Michael Eisner era of Disney will always remain the best.
I remember all of it. Everything that was mentioned I watched. My love for animation is so huge that from time to time, I would revisit them on UA-cam just to watch the intros and I end up finding gems like this video mixed in. Ducktales definitely helped jump start an addiction lol. But I started long before that with toons like transformers, heman, the Thundercats and so many others. Disney afternoon just kept it going for me. This was definitely a huge turning point for animation. 80s and into the 90s had some of the greatest animation ever created. I also am so glad and appreciative of the fact that I too lived through that era. Great video. Definitely looking forward to more... I'm holding you to that mighty ducks video lol.

Nickelodeon, Disney, and PBS was my childhood!
I wasn't around in the 90s, so this video was very informative. I only knew about Ducktales, Darkwing Duck, Talespin, and Gargoyles and haven't seen anything other than a couple episodes of Ducktales. I had no idea how much impact that Disney had on the world of television animation, but I guess I owe them all these amazing shows that I have had the privelege of growing up on. I really only started really watching cartoons lately (like analyzing, etc.) and I have been finding that while older movies tend to be better than newer ones, the opposite is true for television. Nowhere is this more aparent than in the world of animation. Today, animated shows for audiences of all ages tend to be serialized narratives with complex characters and mature themes. Disney is doing especially good with this with Gravity Falls, Amphibia, and the amazing Ducktales reboot among others.
There is something to be said about a show like The Flintstones. Its brainless fun, but definitely not peak animation. Since the 90s we've had those serialized high budget shows that you can get wrapped up in and the last 10 years or so have had amazing shows. Gravity Falls is probably the best animated show I've ever seen.
I loved DuckTales. I will randomly play the theme song sometimes. Rescue Rangers was amazing too.
I actually posted on Twitter last night that people tend to love the DuckTales theme but sleep on the Rescue Rangers theme. It's really fantastic. I'd add TaleSpin in as the other extraordinary theme to complete the trifecta!
It’s ironic that Mickey Mouse never got a show on the block. This was because Eisner wanted a Mickey Mouse show to be amazing and perfect, since he’s the mascot and afraid of his reputation being ruined. But by the time they came up with amazing ideas for him, the block got cancelled.

Being a kid in the 90s was literally the golden age of any childhood ever. This was peak Disney for animation. What I wouldn't give to relive those days.
Removing Duck Tales was the dumbest move. It was all over after that.

I just watched these show openings with my three year old daughter then saw this video. Thank you for this look back at the best era in children’s television! The nostalgia is strong~

I really enjoyed these shows growing up. I watched them where ever I could see them. At my grandparents or at home. I still remember my grandma collecting the Ducktales figures when they were prizes in certain cereals. Those were the days. Ducktales and Talespin are my two favorites but I did enjoy Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers and Darkwing Duck too. I was more into the Duck characters and the Jungle Book characters that I grew more fond of those two shows more but I watched them all and still do till this day. If anyone were to ask me to sit down and watch me some Disney Afternoon you better believe I'll join in.
I love how The Ducktales reboot honoured the DA's legacy.
Late 80s and 90s were the Golden age of cartoons.
The boom of that period was huge. So much great animation on tv for sure!
And to be honest,Ren and Stimpy were on another LEVEL of Craziness.
I'm from Greece and all those shows were a part of Saturday/Sunday morning cartoons of Greek television for years.. I grew up with all those Disney shows and the Aladdin series, Timon & Pumba and House of Mouse especially were still going on till the late 2000s and were very popular.. Ducktales, Darkwing Duck, Aladdin and House of Mouse were my favourites from Disney and of course Batman: the animated series and X-Men are iconic!!!
Looooved Talespin. Went to Disney on Ice and it was Talespin themed. A HUGE Don Karnage came out of one side of the rink at one point, like a nightmare with flashing lights and booming, evil laughter. Scarred me for life.
Alright, now I'm thinking that I need to do a video about Disney on Ice because I went to many of them as a kid and it's such a weird tradition that Disney has continued to uphold.

I loved the Disney afternoon when I was a kid. It was on iTV (now known as Global Edmonton) and was hosted by meteorologist Mike Sobel. Darkwing Duck, Ducktales, Chip and Dale's Rescue Rangers & Talespin were among my favorites. The NES games were awesome as well.
Those Nintendo games were hard too! The early Disney capcom games for the NES and SNES/Sega days were some of the hardest, but most fun in gaming I ever had.
I was watching this as a 90s kid in Sweden every Saturday afternoon, every kid here was looking forward to this every week.

Zootopia is honestly the right movie to turn into an animated show and it would make an excellent 2D show similar to Tangled. I would agree that the new reboots are great and I hope we see some more Disney Afternoon reboots for Disney+.
I was 8 years old when Mighty Ducks first aired, and have been a fan since the day it premiered. I would love to see you do a video on my favorite show that was such a big part of my childhood. We're a small fandom, but I am always happy to see new fans pop up! It made me subscribe on principle!

@@ModernMouse I keep trying to tackle it myself. I have done some amvs to play with it, but I keep having trouble with script length. I have been writing stories and doing fan art for years. The show did have it's 25th anniversary last September 6th. Again, we may be a small fandom, but it always cheers me up to interact with newly discovered fans.

I was born in '89. Having grown up in the 90s, I absolutely adore that time. I'd say I was a casual viewer of the Disney Afternoon. I've seen my fair share of the shows, but I wouldn't say they were my favorite as a kid but I enjoyed them. I was more of a Ninja Turtles, Xmen, Spider-Man, Batman, Power Ranger and Nickelodeon fan. Having just watched the new Chip and Dale movie, I loved it. I'm a sucker for cameos and nostalgia and it was full of it. I miss the simpler times of the 90s. Luckily, most of those old shows are easily accessible nowadays. Great video.
Excellent video. How about the old Ripley's Believe it or Not and the classic Carmen Sandiego I loved that futuristic world traveling with an ancient history mystery twist
I loved the old Carmen Sandiego show. I think it was on Fox on Saturday mornings. Also Dean Cain on Ripley was great. Lots to learn on those shows.
The Michael Eisner era of Disney will always be the best era for me.

I LOVED Disney Afternoon. I had my list of favorite shows (Gummie Bears, Chip n' Dale, Darkwing Duck, Talespin, Gargoyles, Aladdin, Goof Troop). Ducktales were cool but I wasn't a HUGE fan of the series because I was more into Chip n' Dale and Talespin at that time. But it was so hard to juggle what I wanted to watch after school when Fox Kids started throwing out some heavy hitters during their afternoon block with Batman, X-Men, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. That's when I just became an occasional watcher of Disney Afternoon. I remember every time there was a rerun showing of Power Rangers, I just watch Gargoyles that had new episodes on Fridays lol. Ahhh, the good ol' days growing up lol.
That time period was a really monumental time for animation and I'm so glad I was a child during it!
Me personally, I didn’t grow up with Disney Afternoon on air, but I did have some of the older shows on DVD; I had the entire collection of Ducktales and Rescue Rangers. On the other hand, I grew up with Playhouse Disney on air in the late 2000s/ early 2010s. I would spend a lot of time at this one family-friend’s house as a toddler and we’d watch it all morning while eating breakfast. It holds a lot of fondness and nostalgia in my heart. Playhouse Disney later turned into Disney Junior. I would absolutely LOVE it if you could do a video on it and all of its shows. It was a huge part of my childhood. Loved this video essay!
I wished more of my past favourites Disney Series like Wuzzles, Darkwing Duck, Mighty Ducks, House of Mouse, Kim Possible, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Hercules and American Dragon Jake Long are finally released onto complete DVD collection just like the original The Proud Family Series.

maybe because of these shows, I've been slowly working towards becoming a filmmaker my whole life! working on independent fantasy, sci fi and horror as well as big budget shows like the walking dead. Talespin and duck tales greatly influenced me to study mythology and Shakespeare and to write background stories, to set characters up for drama as well as comedy. I really cared what happened to them! so different than the shows that came before. thanks for the video network1901!

Alli know is, when the OJ trial started, I never saw the Disney afternoon cartoons ever again.
A Goofy Movie was surprisingly adult. Not for inappropriate content but for having a deeper emotional look at the bond between Max and Goofy. Max is now a teenager full of angst and wanting to fit in, and Goofy of course is not the most sophisticated dad out there. But Max gains some maturity as he begins to see his life through his dad's eyes.
The fact that The Rescuers Down Under was not in the montage in the start of the video makes me sad.
The Smurfs might not have had myth arcs, but that doesn't mean it didn't have meaningful stories.
Like Handy's automatic harvesting, baking, cooking, and delivery machines making the smurfs wasteful with their food to the point they almost put themselves in a famine.
This show is still being made in Denmark, our public broadcaster buys the rights to make a show, traditionally consisting of 2 classic 40's animations and 2 long format episodes from two different shows, the shows being the same for a couple months. This show has been broadcasted more or less every friday since 1991

There has been adaptions of this block in other countries, including Saturday Disney in Australia, which used the Disney Afternoon Reprise in its credits. ;-)

I really appreciated the Saturday morning shows on ABC ‘cause I didn’t have cable as a kid, so that was the only way I could watch Disney channel shows. I loved a lot of the shows you displayed, like Emperor’s New School, Lilo & Stitch (which was surprising ‘cause I wasn’t a fan of those films at that time), Little Mermaid, and those live-actions series you mentioned too 💙

If I had to make an educated guess, I doubt it. I think Disney would rather push people to sign up for Disney+. If MeTV gets anything, I think it might be shows like Marsupalami, Bonkers, or even Gummi Bears. Shows that don't feature more well known characters and ones that are a bit more forgotten.
Actually, the "Little Mermaid" series was *before* the "Aladdin" TV show by two years.

I'm a 70's kid, so along with Saturday morning cartoons, I read the Donald Duck & Scrooge McDuck comic books. So when Duck Tales came out it was fun to see all of those characters come to life (in a manner of speaking), especially the supporting ones like the Beagle Boys, Magica DeSpell, & Gyro Gearloose!
It was really cool to see those characters in a different light as they went into print and onto our tv screens. As an 80s and 90s kid, the adventurer versions of these characters became the norm from me.

Thank you for this informative video! Not so much for me but for anyone who didn’t experience this. If you were a kid with family issues, whether that be a missing father, mother, poverty or any of the millions of issues that too many kids have, these shows were an escape from those realities. Or they can represent memories like a look back into a more simple time if your childhood wasn’t so bad. A lot of us can picture the couches and living rooms we rushed home to be in for these shows. And once they were done for the day we were back outside!
Thank you for watching. I think most kids growing up now will never know what it meant to be on a schedule with the tv shows you watched. I think it's great we can watch TV shows whenever we want now, but it was nice knowing that your shows aren't on so playing outside meant you didn't miss anything. In a way, the streaming model has made it so that there is always something to watch and it discourages going outside and being social with others and getting fresh air and exercise.
Eisner 1990s era was legendary. If not for today's Disney: I would never believe his _"the shark's are circling"_ antics in the mid 2000s, and i do wish he had won.

I was born in 1985 growing up I did watch one Saturday morning on ABC my favorite show of all was The Bugs Bunny and Tweety show along with Tiny Toon Adventures and Animaniacs. I also watched DuckTales, The Little Mermaid, and Aladdin the series for a short time. And as a teenager in the early 2000 I started washing the dog Disney such as Lizzie McGuire and the Even Stevens for examples and also some Disney movies. I really miss those days too bad the company really took a dive after Michael Eisner left. ❤😢
I'm also a 1985 baby so we basically had the same TV and movie experiences. I'll admit that I didn't watch the Disney Channel shows much, but that's because my parents didn't have cable, and when I could visit my grandparents that did have cable my priorities at that point weren't Even Stevens. Personally I don't think the company took a dive post-Eisner. If anything they were spiraling with Eisner in charge after Katzenberg was let go and Frank Wells passed away. Iger coming in gave the company a different feel, some liked it and some didn't, but the company was in better hands after Eisner was replaced. The end of his run really wasn't great. Obviously Bob Chapek didn't work out, but I am hoping that Disney pivots once again with a new CEO after Iger leaves. They need a new fresh outlook.
Great run through. Did you know that Disney Afternoon still runs on flow tv here in Denmark to this day? The Danish national Channel DR (Danmarks Radio) adapted the show back in the 90s like probably many other countries. But instead of afternoons it aired every Friday evening at seven a clock and was called Disney Sjov (Disney Fun). And it’s still on every Friday with some of the old classics and some newer shows always with breaks of the Disney classics shorts like Donald Duck or Mickey Mouse etc. and no commercial breaks. Same format, every Friday ever since the 90s. :)
I wished ToonDisney stuck around with reruns of old 90s cartoons in the mid 2000s. Unfortunatley i never got to see cool shows like the 80s Ducktales,Talespin and a new favorite show DarkwingDuck. I enjoy watching old 90s shows i never seen before on Disney+.
Edit:I grew up watching modern disney cartoons such as. StarVsTheForcesOfEvil,Gravity Falls a classic,Phineas and Ferb,and other stuff. Ducktales 2017 introduced me to the world of Ducktales with the world of modern day cartoons.
Glad that the modern DuckTales could turn you onto to these other Disney Afternoon shows. I personally feel like we switched places because Disney+ gave me a reason to get into newer shows like Gravity Falls which has become one of my favorite shows of all time.

Man the Disney afternoon was something I looked forward to seeing when I got home from school man this era was the greatest of my middle to teenager years ❤️💯
Gummy Bears is the only one I'm a tad hazier on with memories, I remember the yellow bear more than the others, but for the most part, that one was before me. The rest though I watched religiously, even with being born in 1995. I remember Disney being all I watched at the time because the other networks didn't have much for me yet as it was before SpongeBob and Ed, Edd & Eddy and the like in 1999. I just remember Disney, Rugrats/Doug, WB, and What A Mess specifically for some reason (I think it was ABC? But I guess that was technically Disney too?).
The Disney Afternoon schedule was like in 1990-91 on my Fox affiliate WTTG/5 when I was in Hyattsvile, Maryland/Washington, D.C. during that time:
3:00pm - Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears
3:30pm - Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers
4:00pm - Duck Tales
4:30pm - Tale Spin
Grew up watching several of those shows mentioned as a 90’s kid, Darkwing Duck and Batman being my favorites. Forgotten about Bonkers and some of the others. Feel a small amount of sadness when I think back to those days and how carefree I was, but hard not to laugh and smile when I think about Scrooge outwitting the Beagle Boys or Baloo flying circles around the villain of the day. We were really lucky as 90’s kids to have such awesome shows.
When your biggest issue was getting home from school quick enough to watch those shows, then life was pretty carefree. I'm with you there! We definitely were lucky with such a great amount of entertainment aimed at us when we were kids.
Wait....1997 I was 2 (at least when July came around), yet I vividly remember Disney Afternoon and that cool intro with the characters being coloured and whatnot
I was so obsessed with Darkwing Duck, that I refused to have a 6th birthday party when I was told that the real Darkwing Duck couldn't attend. I was quite insistent that I did NOT want a man in a costume. I wanted the actually cartoon character to come to my party. XD He never did show up. Hasn't come to any of my other birthday parties either. :p
I didn't grow up in the ops but over here in belguim in the 2000 and 2010s Disney sometimes played older shows on other networks then just Disney channel, that's how i know most of these shows, most familiar with chip and dale rescue rangers
90s animation was a Huge part of my growth. I miss the theme songs … they don’t make them like that anymore. … Great Video… I remember having Disney Afternoon on full with little sis after school … we even used to watch Sonic the Hedgehog before school. Great times.
Where I lived in Canada, the Disney Afternoon was a Saturday afternoon block, not an after school block. It was all those core shows like Ducktales, Tale Spin, and whatnot. I was very fond of it, but I could tell that it was running out of steam post-Bonkers. All the good shows like Chip and Dale, Darkwing Duck, and Gargoyles were getting replaced by those late stage shows like Shnookums and Meat. A few execeptions to the whole thing were Mighty Ducks and Quack Pack, which didn't play during the Disney Afternoon, and the movie animated series, which all played on Saturday mornings and I think later in weekday syndication. I'm not sure when Quack Pack actually aired, as I only remember it playing midday on weekdays on a local channel (not the national affiliate station the Disney Afternoon block was on).
It's funny that the FCC was going after shows like this, given the shameless BS that was the 80s and early 90s. Although there were toys, none of these shows were toy commercials like Transformers, He-man, or TMNT. And none of them were the insane fever dreams of the 70s, which I'm sure got kids to take drugs. These were good shows and were the least predatory of kids programming.
Quack Pack played as part of Disney Afternoon starting in 1996. I believe it actually came after Bonkers had ended so it was late stage Disney Afternoon. All of the other big hit shows were gone by that point beyond Gargoyles.
@@ModernMouse I don't think it was a part of the once-weekly Disney Afternoon block here though. I only ever remember seeing it on that other local channel. Perhaps, since things tended to get delayed a bit coming to Canada, the show was already seen as a failure and thus no one wanted to pick it up.

Biker Mice from Mars at least had its own identity.
That wasn't a Disney show but it's a great show. It reminds me of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Except that the mices our from Mars not planet Earth.
I think that my FAVORITE Disney Afternoon cartoon is Timon and Pumbaa... not just because the lion king is my favorite disney movie, but because i am a SUPER fan of animals AND comedy... (not to mention that timon and pumbaa are my favorite characters from the 1994 movie)
Timon and Pumbaa was solid as far as spin off shows went. Instead of trying to bring back an entire cast of characters, it was nice to see what these two characters did before or after their time with Simba because they lived full lives outside of their roles in the Lion King. It was also genius because I remember a time when shows like this would be followed up with a show where a host would go out and actually show you real animals in the wild....so it got a ton of kids into animals and nature.

I kinda hate the fact that Disney abandoned Oswald Rabbit. I know he wasn't in the Disney Afternoon shows but Oswald felt like a part of my family and my heart. He was my favorite Disney character ever and since Mickey is seen as the superior character compared to Oswald, that just makes me want Disney to bring Oswald back even more. Hopefully, they discussed Oswald's future at D23 Expo.

Well done on the video! I did not know that Chip and Dale were Dressed as Indy and Magnum. I used to flip this on the TV after elementary school every day. I wanted to be Kit Cloudkicker and board behind the Sea Duck in the sky. Only time I’d change the channel was for Batman the animated series.
There were a few non-Disney shows I really loved and would change the channel for. Batman was the best! I also really loved Animaniacs, Tiny Toons, Doug, and Rugrats.
My dad was a producer/director for Disney TV and did every Disney afternoon show including being the creator of Goof Troop and winning an Emmy for Tale Spin. Eisner tried to tell my pops how to design some of these shows and my pops ultimately threw a box of pushpins at him during a pitch meeting saying that he (Eisner) didn’t have a creative bone in his body. The real beauty of Disney Afternoon was breaking cartoons out of the Saturday morning time slot.
Also there’s two distinct versions of Bonkers. It was an absolute failure and then they put my pops in charge and he completely changed the show and characters, it’s why bonkers has two different partners. My pops told Disney they needed to make it a live action/cartoon hybrid like Roger rabbit but they refused.
fun fact the Disney afternon opening was used on Danish Disney sjov for almost 30 years. unfortently stopped last year. its been change to something called fredags tamtam. which according to everyone sucks.
I was born in 1997 and even though the disney afternoon ended at the time I was born I was lucky and fortunate to catch reruns of goof troop bonkers chip n dale rescue rangers darkwing duck the original duck tales and many others on toon disney as a kid before it changed to disney xd. I'm 25 now. It shocks me people my age don't know these shows and haven't seen the original ducktales
In czechia, on one kids channel called CT :D, I remember every afternoon, on the disney block I watched duck tales on it (it has disney afternoon to this day)

I did not watch the Disney afternoon. I did watch toon Disney quite a lot and remember a lot of the Disney afternoon TV shows. My mother had a huge collection of Disney movies on VHS. I am very happy that most of those shows are now on Disney plus.
I'm happy about that too. I remember when they all moved to Toon Disney after the Disney Afternoon died. We didn't have cable but I asked if we could get it because of Toon Disney. My grandparents had cable so I'd watch anytime I visited their house.
Great video! With that said, I guess no one else remembers Road Rovers as one of these many 1990s Ninja Turtles-style shows because that's another one that popped up alongside Street Sharks and Biker Mice. This guy didn't bring it up.
It's okay. Road Rovers wasn't very good anyway. Shows like Hey Arnold, Rugrats, Sailor Moon, and Dragon Ball Z were WAY cooler. Hell, Street Sharks and Biker Mice were also better.
The shows featured in the Disney afternoon were very valuable for young people in that timeframe, including myself. If shows like that were created again, and aired to the children up today very likely we would have less of the problems in the world that we see today, because the shows of Yesterdays teach valuable lessons for young people!
I'd argue that there are some quality shows for young people now still. Bluey is one of the most popular shows for children right now and usually has a great lesson each episode.
But other shows like Darkwing Duck Rescue Rangers Talespin Gargoyles Bonkers Marsupilami Mighty Ducks etc are referenced in other media
I love the Disney Afternoon! One of my favorites is the Gummi Bears. As a matter of fact, I wish I could've seen Afternoon Avenue at Disneyland.

I love that little detail that they added to the show. It made them more timely during the original airing but now it separates them from when they are just normal Chip and Dale.

As someone who was born in 85, I feel like I got the best upbringing as far as animation on television.
You forgot to mention that The Rescuers Down Under is part of of the Disney Renaissance Era.

i grow up in brooklyn ny watching this 1990 i was 10 years old i. i also would run from school at 230pm to watch i woud watch to 5pm and then watch the tv shows after 5pm like full house,step by step,Saved by the Bell, Charles and charge , growing pain.. but when i saw the aftenoon cartoon on youtube it made me cry with so many memories of my childhood ..DuckTales and talespin where my fav also loved saturday moring cartoon like Bugs Bunny..where can i watch this again.. i miss that time of age wish i could go back to that time again i also love channel 11 wpix tv shows like the 8pm movies i miss this time so much .. where can i find the 90's fasternoon cartoon full episodes with commercial on line??? where can i find any of this of the 90's cartoon and tv shows?

To be honest,I'm really sad that Disney didn't make a tale spin reboot. I loved that show when I was a child.
I've heard about the potential still for a reboot by the same folks that did the reboot of DuckTales so don't lose hope. I'm actually hoping we hear about it at the D23 Expo this month. Crossing my fingers!
Thanks for crossing your fingers! The reason I lobe it so much is because it was the FIRST animation I saw Baloo and Kit in. The minute I saw the first five episodes, I fell in love with the show. It brought Comedy,Adventure, and planes in it. Disney made a masterpiece. Hopefully it gets a reboot during Disney 23 Expo. I also wanted a reboot series of Rescue Rangers to come but that seems unlikely so for now, "A man can dream,A man can dream".
And tbh, Disney needs to bring back Oswald Rabbit, because perhaps without him, maybe Mickey would have never existed. Love you Oswald!

I grew up on the 90s... I remember when Disney afternoon first came out. I remember in first grade waiting to get out of school to see the next episode of Darkwing Duck. I remember watching Gummi Bears on Saturday morning. I remember loving Gargoyles and Mighty Ducks rocked. I even loved Quackpack... what I DON'T LOVE is that the 😡😡😡 government ruined TV for many children. I would have loved to have sat with my nephews and nieces around the 2000 and 2010s to watch these programs, but as time went on in the mid 2000s, I noticed that Saturday TV changed and afternoon television changed also. I didn't know it had to do with the FCC and regulations. 😡😡😡

Every Disney Afternoon show was awesome but by the time it was 1996 all of the show were going downhill
It definitely peaked early on. To be honest, it's difficult to sustain that many shows with that many episodes year after year when they are all coming from the same studio.

There has been lots of talk about bringing Talespin or Darkwing Duck back after the success of the new DuckTales. We could see them sometime soon.
Well, on the 90s I was a teenager, I liked other cartoons, daria, the critic, dilbert, duckman, those were my favorite, I liked the fact that they didn't shy out on presenting more adult subjects and they were nihilistic, even when i didn't know what nihilism was I loved it.

I'd say the mid 90's are not 'weird', but experimental. And you can see it in all pop culture: films, music, comics. 1994 for example was a highpoint in films, but Pulp Fiction was quite an experimental film if you think about it. Dance music, especially in Europe went through a revolution in the 90s. I love it. It's not weird. It's experimental.
One thing that killed it was the prudes required cartoons must be educational
Not all animation had to be educational, but children's TV did require a certain amount of airtime dedicated to it. I actually did a podcast episode about it recently. The whole bureaucracy of children's television and the stipulations put on it as well as the education system as a whole. If you like podcasts I recommend it. One of my favorites I've done.
@@ModernMouse too much competition ended Saturday Sunday toons and weekday morning and afternoon. Most ONLY talk about Saturday morning. Cable TV gave too many options. Sunday morning never gets mentioned
