I never got why Sony is pumping out Anti Hero films featuring Spider-Mans Rogues Gallery with zero connection to a Spider-Man. Maybe that will all change in the Madam Webb movie where we finally get introduced to a Peter Parker (Seems to be a Baby from the rumours) and maybe a Spider-Man but I'm on the fence with this idea that we have to introduce these characters in solo films before Spider-Man. Venom films I enjoyed 99% because of Eddie and Venom but everything else has been awful. Maybe Kraven can prove us wrong but so far it's a mixed bag of cool looking stuff and some like "wtf was that" moments.
Weirdly I'm kinda rooting for sony to make a good spin off movie based on one of these Spider-Man characters because ever since Disney bought fox I kinda miss the those X-Men movies and I want something different from marvel that isn't just mcu content all the time
I mean tbf it is rumored that Sony is building up to a Spider-Man vs Sinister Six movie, so it would be a lot easier to introduce these characters in solo projects instead of pulling an ASM2 and trying to juggle multiple villains origins and motivations at once.
Barbie is for Barbie fans, period. Boys had GI Joe’s, Ninja Turtles, Star Wars, Transformers… Girls had Barbies. I read that the head of Mattel visited set because he didn’t like a few lines and Margot and Greta acted it out to calm him, it is Barbie after all. Don’t dissect the movie to make sense of it, because you’re never going to get it.
Sony is stuck in a hard position...they currently own the rights to all of these characters that are CONNECTED to a huge cash cow character that is only a cash cow when MARVEL uses him. They also don't really produce a whole lot that anyone is actually interested in, so it seems like they're playing with these toys that they have on borrowed time while they can.
I'm really hoping Barbie meets the hype. I mean Mattel protects their brand, but they are a bit more flexible/willing to be a bit risky than Disney. There is that Barbie cartoon (I think it's the one just before it's current rendition) where Barbie and co are dolls (in-universe) and they let Barbie get all kinds of silly in that show. (I have kids and am up on all the current Barbie stuff). From interviews it looks like even the actors were surprised at some of what Mattel let them do so I have fingers crossed!
You and me both! I think Mattel just isn’t afraid to go “outside of the box” so to speak, but I also think that’s the whole premise of this new movie. So while the trailer did catch me off guard, I’m excited to see what Greta’s vision is!
My favorite comment about the Kraven trailer came from my sister when I showed her the trailer. In a confused voice she asked "Was he bit by a radioactive lion?" And now I can't not laugh at it. It's not a bad trailer. It just doesn't make a ton of sense.
So in the comics Kraven does have powers that he gained from a special herbal potion given to him by a voodoo priestess known as Calypso who was also his lover and I'm pretty sure is the woman we see in the trailer as well. These range from enhanced strength, speed, agility, stamina, and longevity but nothing about him being able to connect to Animals. This also carries over into the Ultimate Universe as well where his powers are the same listed above.
Only idiots would think that he gain his powers from a drop of lions blood. My assumption is she cast a voodoo spell on him long b4 that lion attack. But getting bite by a spider, gamma bomb going off, sticking your hand into the heart of a dragon or adamantium pumped into your body in liquid form to encapsulate your bones are normal procedures rather than him gaining powers that way...
Maybe he took the herbs as a teenager and it interacted with the lions blood to give him enhanced abilities, but he has to keep taking the potion because his powers will fade or dimish without it.
i believe he had these powers as long ago as the late 80's when he "killed" spider man, took on his persona for a while, realized he was not worthy and put a shotgun in his mouth.
There's an alternate reality Kraven that has more animalistic powers and is more of an anti-hero. Apparently that's who they are basing this film on, not the mainline Kraven.
With Will Ferrell kind of playing the same character, I'm really hoping that Barbie is in the LEGO movie universe. I'd love to see Batman show up with his lobster thermidor.
As a FNAF fan since the first game I’m so excited for the movie. Anyway, a detail someone mentioned in the Barbie movie is that she might be flouting down because no one actually used the stairs and instead would just pick up the dolls.
Dune is both much bigger and dramatically darker than this, I don't know if Adam would like it. I'm pretty surprised they intend to adapt the next book, actually, man it's dark.
Dune Messiah is basically confirmed at this point even without the studio knowing what the opening weekend box office for Part Two will be. But yeah, it's going to be a dark and divisive film for general audiences.
Here’s the thing with the Barbie trailers, I feel like they pile so much madness into it and make it purposefully confusing so I’m like “I have no idea what’s going on so I have to see this movie to see what’s happening” 😂
The FNAF movie seems to be combining elements from the original game, the third game/the secret "minigames" from FNAF2 (which is actually a prequel to FNAF1), a few details from the novels, as well as adapting the character of Vanessa from the latest game Security Breach (in which she was a security guard of a future location but appears to be a cop in this). Josh is playing the player character of the original game, Mike Schmidt. The guy who hires him "Steve Raglan" played by Matthew Lillard is a fake identity as it was confirmed that Lillard would be playing the main antagonist of the franchise, William Afton, co-founder of Fazbear Entertainment and the guy who murdered the kids that now haunt the animatronics. The yellow rabbit character seen in two shots of the trailer is Afton inside of the "Spring Bonnie" suit that he used to commit his murders. The spring lock suits being special creations that could convert between animatronic and wearable suit. William Afton was only alluded to in the original game by mention of the murders, being formally introduced as the mysterious "purple guy" in FNAF2, and being properly fleshed out and named in the Silver Eyes novel and its sequels. In the secret minigames from FNAF2, William is cornered by the ghost children and the spring locks in his suit end up malfunctioning due to the shoddy nature of their design, causing the suit to shift into animatronic mode, crushing Afton inside and creating the antagonist of FNAF3: Springtrap. Since Afton (in the Spring Bonnie suit) and the ghost children are in this movie directly, if I was to wager a guess, I'd assume this movie will end with the creation of Springtrap, setting up a potential sequel. Oh, and the Freddy that appears with the little girl at the end of the trailer appears to be Golden Freddy, a distinct entity from the brown-coloured stage animatronic with an extra strong grudge against Afton.
Freddy's looks fantastic, having the girl there and showing the ghost kids actually gives emotional weight to the child murder (unlike most of the games)
I'm sure some of you have seen the "Barbenheimer" memes. Because Oppenheimer and Barbie come out on the same day, the internet has mashed them together with "Barbenheimer" ads, images, and even T-shirts. People are even planning to have a Barbie/Oppenheimer double feature on that day. It reminds me of when Doom Eternal and Animal Crossing: New Horizons came out, and it's a reminder that the internet can be wholesome as fuck sometimes. 😄
I honestly have no idea what to expect from Barbie other than it to subvert expectations. I did hear that the COO of Mattel wasn't sure about one scene from the script so ended up flying out to where it was being filmed. After a discussion (and a live performance of it from Margot), he got the nuance that the script couldn't give and was happy. Given it's Greta Gerwig, I shouldn't be surprised that there's more to this than the name alone would suggest.
The Dune joke made me subscribe. Also, my favourite moment from the original David Lynch film was the 'You Young Pup!' line (if you haven't seen the original Dune just yet, wait till you see who the one is shouting it)
The creator of five nights at freddy's made sure to take his time on the movies even though it took 8 years to get somewhere, hes been through 2 directors and almost 20 scripts to make sure this movie was as good as it could be. He said he will only do the first 3 games as movies and no more.
Dune Part 2 looks, once again, monumental. Can't wait to see it with the most packed sound system I can get. And Kraven...you know, at what point Sony stops trying to make their Spiderverse without Spider-Man happen? Because it ain't gonna happen.
Kraven in most versions of him has powers, the comics, the animated shows, the games, but the one difference in every single one is how he gets those powers lol that part changes quite often What I do love is that we're getting the animal kingdom Kraven who protects animals and learns from them, that's always been my favorite version of Kraven in the comics and shows when they portray him that way
44:53 Fun fact, Adam supposed team Gale person. He was never originally intended to be a love interest for Katniss. The publisher made the author add the triangle in because they felt that’s what YA stories needed. He was originally her cousin.. Also, Adam might finally be budging on Dune. About time.
Kraven, Calypso, Rhino, and the Chameleon all in one movie!! Let’s go! Calypso is responsible for Kraven’s transformation in the comics and as shown here in the trailer (notice the tarot card during the transformation).
The thing about Five Night's at Freddy's is that the creator of the franchise, Scott Cawthon, is very hands on with this movie, so a lot of things from mainly the first game (which came out in 2014) is probably going to be in this. Apparently, if this does well, which I have no doubt it will, then there's going to be a trilogy of this which is going to be AMAZING!!! I'm a big FNaF fan so I have a lot knowledge of this stuff. Also, Adam, you are very correct, the lore of this franchise is... to say 'complicated' is an understatement, but sad, creepy, and fun to piece together nonetheless. (Also, there are more games being made. FNaF: Security Breach, which came out around a year ago is getting a DLC this month, and there's a new VR game in development, scheduled to come out later his year, apparently)
I had...higher hopes for Kraven. I thought Aaron-Taylor Johnson was a solid choice - he's a good actor, and he throws himself into his roles, so I think he would be awesome with a better script and director. The problem is after this trailer all I can think of is that this is going to be just as dumb, if not dumber, than Morbius. And that's a low bar...
Kraven is just a guy who’s the best hunter he doesn’t have super powers he’s just a big guy who hunts for sport (that includes animals) but the new version of kraven which they’re going with makes him an eco conservationist where he’s a friend of beasts and protects them from the evils of man. So you see how there’s a slight contrast between Kraven the Hunter (ie spiderman 2 game version) and Kraven the eco warrior (like a violent Tarzan) it’s just not really it.
Omg “in theaters and Peacock” DOES THAT MEAN ACCESSIBILITY?!? The whole “only in theaters” bit has been WILDLY ableist by making it impossible for large groups of people who can’t go to a theater for health, mobility, or financial reasons to access most movies coming out now. I had no interest in Peacock or the Freddy’s movie but now I’m interested!
I have been sitting here wondering when yall were gonna review the DUNE TRAILER!?! So happy to have both of you, even if Jay is probably the walking dead from living with a newborn 😂.
Theyre building up the Sinister Six and theyre all going to be transported into one universe. More likely Andrews and that'll lead to TASM3. They already said theyll do these things. Just taking a long while. And yes Chameleon IS in here. Thats 6 total already. And as for cat woman, thats Black Cat. Lol
Sony: "Hey, what are we gonna do with these millions and millions of dollars we made on the animated Spiderverse movies? Sony: "How about we pump it into our "Sinister 6" series that lost us millions and millions of dollars?" Sony: "Sounds like a plan!!"
If you watch the Kraven trailer again, during when the Lion blood drops on a young Kraven, you see at one point a tarot card. So I figure Calypso will have something to do with the film
This is admittedly inspired by a comic arc where Kraven was more of an antihero, and a supersoldier serum mixed with lion blood and got in his system to give him powers. So I think that lion must ingest the serum when it bites his backpack, and then the blood gets in his system. That said... damn this movie looks nothing like what I hoped from a Kraven movie
That song🎵 from the _"Barbie"_ trailer literally couldn't have fit this movie's🎬 tone, imagery, and feel ANY BETTER than it did! I'm >💯% positive that it was the _PERFECT_ choice. I LEGITIMATELY don't know if any other songs that could've/would've been a better choice whatsoever. In all seriousness though; whoever decided to actually choose that song🎵 in particular _DESERVES_ a _FUCKING HUUGGGEEEEE_ raise!!! ...and if they haven't gotten a raise yet, then this person _ABSOLUTELY_ deserves it _IMMEDIATELY!!!_
I think this craven is Kraven II, Russel Crowe's character being the original. He's a mutant. The original drank "potions" to give himself superhuman attribs not to Spidey level.
Not only is Kraven a Spider-Man villian without a Spider-Man which is the problem with so many of these Sony Marvel movies, this isn't actually Kraven. It's Kraven in name, but this backstory, the framework for it, looks like it's been ripped right out of DCs Catman's backstory. Even some of the lines in this trailer come eerily close to things said in the Catman comics. I am surprised DC hasn't clocked it yet. So in a sense we are not actually getting a Kraven story we are getting a Catman story. Sony needs to collaborate and cooperate with Marvel some more because they just keep pumping out the same copy/pasted stuff. Copying a DC character storyline won't make it better.
Kraven looks awful ... just awful. Anyone familiar with the character from the comic books has to look at this and just laugh. Instead of a brawny, Russian, big game hunter, enhanced with a mystical serum that gives him strength, agility, etc., we get a lean, low-rent surfer-dude with daddy issues, who, apparently, likes to bite people's faces. Come on, what the hell is this?
Barbie is giving me Lego Movie vibes mixed with a little Toy Story. I think it looks fun. Also, i think I laughed way longer than I should have at the HR sock puppet 😂
Hey Don't knock Dune part one. It was a Awesome movie! If you found it boring then you were just not getting it and am obviously not a Dune fan. Dune part one was SO much better than the old movie which was boring as hell unlike the New movie is that it actually rekindled my interest in Dune again. and even has me playing the Dune Games. It is a far better movie than you are giving it credit for, and is a decent Sci-Fi movie, Not everything is just Star Wars Dude there are other sci-fi movies out there that are just as good and Dune part one is one of them.
Watching them go from confused to LOOKS LIKE I HATE IT in Kraven was hilarious
The exact look i had when that blood went in him😂 morbius 2.0

Best palooza, full of vibe! It’s like you’re subway heat delirious and we’re all here for it.
I am strangely intrigued by Barbie....
Re Dune 2, I just saw speculation that there is to be a Dune 3.
Fr, that whole trailer is like a fever dream
I'm really hoping Barbie meets the hype. I mean Mattel protects their brand, but they are a bit more flexible/willing to be a bit risky than Disney. Y’all’s reaction to the Barbie trailer gave me LIFE 🤣

Oh he's been this way for years
Well Adam, I think on behalf of everyone I can safely rate all these trailers "five out of five nights at Freddies"
😐………….well done🙂
My favorite comment about the Kraven trailer came from my sister when I showed her the trailer. In a confused voice she asked "Was he bit by a radioactive lion?" And now I can't not laugh at it. It's not a bad trailer. It just doesn't make a ton of sense.
The answer is no, though. A.) He was mauled, not just bit. B.) Genetically modified lion. Radiation is so last milennium.
@@aterwilligermy favorite take is “in America, radiation causes heroes. But in Japan, it creates monsters.”

You think so? It seems pretty straightforward to me lol
Vibes are what happen when you briefly connect to the frequency of the universe and just...get it for a second.
the change of Adam's facial expressions when he sees the drop of lion blood is perfect

I was about to say, Jay needs to talk to pReview'd HR department about Adam’s obsession with his feet. But, I see Adam made sure there wasn't one.
Jay definitely just had a kid. That is a level of deliriously tired only a new parent can be. :D
Wow, I was expecting Jay to be frustrated with the Kraven trailer, but it was Adam. Worth the wait.😊
I think everyone needs a Greg The Sock Puppet HR Representative.
This palooza felt like a wonderful reunion. Jay and Adam missed each other, dawww!
The joy on Jay's face watching the TMNT trailer is contagious ❤😊
Wonder if or how they'll introduce/explain Alia in Dune. That's going to be one hell of a child actor.
The TMNT were teens in the 2012 show, and also in Rise of the TMNT. Jay should definitely show his kid the 2012 show.
If you watch the Kraven trailer again, during when the Lion blood drops on a young Kraven, you see at one point a tarot card. So I figure Calypso will have something to do with the film
MA! DONT BOTHA ME! WATCHING PREVIEW'D IN MY ROOM!
Excited to see Austin Butler in Dune. (The bald guy fighting in the arena) He’s gonna kill it in his role
Feels like Mutant Mayhem was for Jay what the He-Man trailer was for Adam, way back. Just...childhood fandom Done Right.
Jay talking about his baby is just the sweetest thing
I like the theory that Willy's Wonderland is a sequel to Mandy. Also, its great to have yall back!
You guys are the best when you break down in laughter at the end! I've missed you both
That song🎵 from the _"Barbie"_ trailer literally couldn't have fit this movie's🎬 tone, imagery, and feel ANY BETTER than it did!
Tune ... never getting that out of my head, thank you
Man, I've missed you guys 😂
In the comics, Kraven takes special kinds of herbs to increase his strength and sense of smell
