Yes, it will be in the Fantastic Beasts and where to find them; Harry Potter prequels, I think they said there will be 3 movies, I'm not quite sure, but I know for sure because seriously why would not Grindelwald will fight Dumbledore at some point, and I am pretty sure it will awesome.
Keep in mind Dumbledore is not only fighting one of the most deadliest wizards of all, he is constantly watching Harry and protecting him at the same time
The moment when Harry "I-can-do-everything-by-myself" Potter understood what a small grain of sand he is in comparison to the two most accomplished wizards of all time.
Fire bending? Checked. Water bending? Checked. Air bending? Checked. Lightning bending? Checked. Where's earth bending? (Dumbledore turns glass into sand) Oh there it is.
Is there a lightbending in the serie ? I know all the Raava thing, but there is only four elements with 7 sous-elements, and light is not part of them. I love being annoying
0:18 - *Priori Incantatem* is a lightning flow of magical energy if both opponents have the same CORE on their wand 0:45 - *Fiendfire* is a spell that creates fire that resemblances animals which is very advanced spell 0:58 - *Diffindo* is a cutting spell that both cut objects, people and magic properties 1:03 - *Protego* is a Protective charm that deflects spell right back at their opponent 1:07 *Ebublio* is a jinx spell that traps target with water 1:33 *Unknown Dark spell* by Voldemort that releases a black cloud of energy towards dumbledore then absorb it to release a shockwave to destroy glasses in the Ministry 1:41 - *Wigardium Leviosa* a spell that allows to control and levitate objects but with Voldemort's power it's more powerful and precise to control each shards
the first duel is not Priori Incatatem since their wands has different core. Dumbledore use Elder Wand, has Thestral hair core while Voldie's is phoenix feather. Most likely some random spell created for 'much epic' purpose
I just love how even though they both are at omega cathegory of wizards, you can still sense and see fear in both of them. This was truly a great job at portraying an iconic duel from the book.
MultiBum123 You think Harry was even close to being as powerful as either of these wizards? Harry would probably have never even become half as powerful as either of them in his entire life. That's incredibly silly to think it would have been like this, and it didn't need to be.
One of the key like themes of Harry Potter was that yes, Harry was good at defeating Voldemort, but not because he was technically a powerful wizard like Voldemort or Dumbledore, If he had been in an actual combat with any skillful wizard, Harry would have lost. However, because Harry had love, friends, family and faith in the good- on his side, he could defeat him. Like, Voldemort had none of that- all his power just came from a bad place, dark magic (or dark thoughts/energy as i like to call it)... That's why Harry could defeat Voldemort at the end because in the end Voldemort was nothing without those things. Think about the horcroux's and how they were destroyed... think about how Harry one basically in every movie before Deathly Hallows...
I kinda like how they showcase more of Voldemort's power here (like when he absorbs the deflected dark energy to blow up the windows), but i wish they'd have used all the spells from the book (like when Dumbledore brought a statue to life to defend himself against Avada Kedavra, knowing that protecting charms cannot block/deflect it), and also made Dumbledore seem less like he was struggling to defend. Judging by the facial expressions and stances, he seems like he's trying hard to defend himself here, where as in the books, Voldemort couldn't even make him flinch. Dumbledore was pretty much mopping the floor with him in the books like was nothing.
The most impressive part is how Dumbledore keeps moving Harry to safety. Voldemort is only focused on one thing: attack. Dumbledore is superior because he can also protect.
No music. No spell casting. Just two masters of magic just going to town. Now THAT'S a duel I never get tired of. It feels real. I think that in the Harry Potter lore, the kids learn to cast spells vocally because it gives the spells property. They learn to say it and cast it at the same time so they learn which spell does what. But later, the better you get, the less you actually need to vocally cast a spell. You just do. I think they vocally cast them simply because it's easier for the reader to understand what's happening. Makes sense to me.
@@danielhenderson762 maybe but none of the spells make any sense. What do you achieve by wrapping someone in a water ball? Or smashing all the glass? When all these things are easily countered
@@cynicalpenguin Pretty sure if I encased you in water you'd drown, or if I hurled shards of glass at you you'd be slaughtered; not to mention that it's a film, they have to make compromises where possible to make Voldemort seem like a threat but Dumbledore as someone who can potentially overpower him, I actually think this scene was handled really well, very tense.
I love the idea that Dumbledore has fought 2 of the most powerful dark lords of all time, Gellert Grinderwald and Tom Riddle. And he still won Lmao, Dumbledore is just too OP. Please nerf him.
I appreciate that Dumbledore is absolutely silent while casting those spells, and Voldemort is like “EUURGHHHHHH” “ARGHHHH” “NYAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH” well done Tom. You should’ve realized if you tried to duel the powerful Albus Dumbledore, that you would have made those embarrassing noises. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
You sure because Voldemort seemed to be the more dominant one in that fight. He was laughing and smiling even during it while Dumbledore had a panicked look
@@mysteryjunkie9808 that's because Dumbledore is not intending to kill Voldemort, he was fighting defensively to protect Harry. I have no doubt that if Dumbledore was fighting to kill Voldemort he would most definitely defeat him, as he is older, wiser and has more experience than Voldemort.
@@mysteryjunkie9808 it's deliberate change from the book. Book version it is Voldy that need to conjure a shield to defend against Dumbledore attack. It's Dumbledore who threw relentless spell toward Voldy. However movie reverse the duel since they felt it is more appropriate that the good side conjure the defensive side and not the other way around. JK rowling probably tried to convey how Dumbledore is truly the one Voldy feared while Filmmakers reverse it to fit into narrative better.
This battle was always going to end in a stalemate. Voldemort was immortal due to his horcruxes and so could not be beaten but Dumbledor had the Elder Wand which meant he could not lose the fight. It is the unstoppable force and the immovable object. He could not beat Voldemort because the horcruxes prevented him and he could not beat Dumbledore because he had the Elder Wand. The fight would have continued until they both ran out of power to keep going.
The whole battle was also meant as a diversion to keep Voldemort on hold so he could not kill Harry and also to let the corrupt Ministry show that Voldemort is indeed back
I always hated how nervous Dumbledore seemed in this battle. In the book he was calm, collective, and did not seem to struggle against Voldemort at all.
The lack of music during this scene and that shot of Harry looking from the right of the frame toward left with the light of the spells reflecting on his face give this duel an odd dream like vibe that I utterly adore. Complain all you like about book accuracy with these movies but David Yates captured wand battles beautifully.
@@pietrotettamanti7239 To quote Brad Dourif, Wormtongue's actor. "You should see me with a .357 Magnum. I'm awesome." I think Wormtongue blowing Voldemort's brains out would have been a better ending personally.
I love the fact that Dumbledore addresses Voldemort by his birth name. It shows that he remembers him as the student he was before and he knows how much Voldemort hates being reminded of his past.
When Dumbledore shut down the wave of shattered glass Voldemort knew he couldn't defeat him . You could see on his face he knew Dumbledore could counter his every attack and he knew he couldn't best him ... amazing .
Too much Voldemort downplay in Harry Potter fandom. Consider this: He cursed the position of DADA such that no teacher lasted more than a year. Can you imagine cursing a position? Not a person or a thing but a concept or an idea…such that even Dumbledore with ALL his magical knowledge and the elder wand couldn't do anything about it. The DADA teachers were all different witches and wizards with varying levels of skill. Their inability to continue wasn't the result of a sudden unexplained death or sickness. Each of them died or left for different reasons. Imagine a curse so powerful that it gently weaves itself into the fabric of time and fate such that irrespective of what anyone does anywhere, the end result of every action will be consistent with respect to the position of DADA at Hogwarts. This happened for years. It didn't stop until Voldemort died. If you ask me, this is the greatest and the most ingenious piece of magic in the entire series.
Well in the books, students start to learn how to use the same spells they've learned throughout school without actually calling out their name yet casting it with only the wand motion and will. Which gives you an advantage in dueling. It's apparently harder but possible. the spells Dumbledore and Voldemort are obviously very advanced spells. some they might have made up, however creating spells seems to be highly dangerous since that's how Luna's mother passed. It surprised me when I realized Snape was already tampering with spells as student. He could have killed himself
DARKTIGERKAT148 Well obviously at the level these 2 are at, i would assume they are able to cast without voice commands. Voicing the spell was only ever suppose to be used to help students learn. its like teaching math to students. You dont NEED to say Addition or subtraction when working on math. But giving names, and what it does helps kids remember better. i bet doing math would be MUCH harder to remember at a young age if + and - and × ÷ never had names. I also love have Beatrix GTFOs because she knows shes fucking with the wrong people lol
There casting at a far far higher degree of power than any student spells. same spells but its a fire craxker vs a artillery shells. there at a level no one else could match
lol @ Harry at 1:15 just casually strolling in. The muggle equivalent would be an unarmed defenceless guy casually strolling inbetween 2 guys shooting at each other
@@MySipuli Its a meme because in the book goblet of fire Dumbledore asked harry if he put the name in the goblet of fire Where as the film dumbledore yelled at harry.
Book Voldemort: "I'm using my brain to plan a intimidating move so the whole world will fear me" Movie Voldemort: "NYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!" You definitely get more insight with book Voldemort. I remember a passage in DH where he's walking through the village on the way to murder Harry and some kid pops up and compliments his Halloween "costume" and he suppresses the urge to zot the crumb cruncher with: "Unnecessary. Quite unnecessary". So book Voldemort is more pragmatic evil. Movie Voldemort seems more chaotic evil. Damn you, Yates....

Ko_Zilek 5 movies to be exact... and for me personally I hope they make the movie of cursed child....but unfortunately it may never come
Andres Lopez not fight Duel
The fight lasted over 3 hours...I hope the movie is 3 hours too
Keep in mind Dumbledore is not only fighting one of the most deadliest wizards of all, he is constantly watching Harry and protecting him at the same time
You can’t deny it. Voldemort is a POWERFUL wizard. He uses his own wand to duel with a very powerful wizard with the most powerful wand in history!
Yes but Dumbledore defeated Gellert in his prime without the Elder Wand while he was in possession of it.
Dumbledore isnt even try to kill him
Yeah but he didnt know at the time
EpicVlog Gaming voldemort's wand is also very powerful not as much as elder but yet extremely powerful.
EpicVlog Gaming According to Dumbledore in the sorcerer of stone book he says Voldemort has more power than even himself
The moment when Harry "I-can-do-everything-by-myself" Potter understood what a small grain of sand he is in comparison to the two most accomplished wizards of all time.
Imagine what Dumbledore could've done if Harry didn't keep trying to get in the damn way.
lol

Restrain him! With a freaking centaur statue!

Beautiful magic, that. As opposed to Voldemort's destructive rage magic. And "nyaaahh" just sounds weird.

Fire bending? Checked.
Water bending? Checked.
Air bending? Checked.
Lightning bending? Checked.
Where's earth bending?
(Dumbledore turns glass into sand)
Oh there it is.
Is there a lightbending in the serie ? I know all the Raava thing, but there is only four elements with 7 sous-elements, and light is not part of them.
I love being annoying

0:18 - *Priori Incantatem* is a lightning flow of magical energy if both opponents have the same CORE on their wand
0:45 - *Fiendfire* is a spell that creates fire that resemblances animals which is very advanced spell
0:58 - *Diffindo* is a cutting spell that both cut objects, people and magic properties
1:03 - *Protego* is a Protective charm that deflects spell right back at their opponent
1:07 *Ebublio* is a jinx spell that traps target with water
1:33 *Unknown Dark spell* by Voldemort that releases a black cloud of energy towards dumbledore then absorb it to release a shockwave to destroy glasses in the Ministry
1:41 - *Wigardium Leviosa* a spell that allows to control and levitate objects but with Voldemort's power it's more powerful and precise to control each shards
this deserves more likes
the first duel is not Priori Incatatem since their wands has different core. Dumbledore use Elder Wand, has Thestral hair core while Voldie's is phoenix feather. Most likely some random spell created for 'much epic' purpose
Then there's the spell that turns the glass to sand
That's not priori incantatem
@@Bartimayus Dumbledore is a master of transfiguration. I think he projected a field that transfigured the glass back into sand
I just love how even though they both are at omega cathegory of wizards, you can still sense and see fear in both of them. This was truly a great job at portraying an iconic duel from the book.
The greatest spells ever according to Lord Voldemort.

see this is what I wanted the final battle between harry voldemort to be like!
MultiBum123 You think Harry was even close to being as powerful as either of these wizards? Harry would probably have never even become half as powerful as either of them in his entire life. That's incredibly silly to think it would have been like this, and it didn't need to be.
lol Harry would've lost in literally half a second in a proper duel against Voldemort
Isn't he just a teen there
StarkMMO haha right
One of the key like themes of Harry Potter was that yes, Harry was good at defeating Voldemort, but not because he was technically a powerful wizard like Voldemort or Dumbledore, If he had been in an actual combat with any skillful wizard, Harry would have lost.
Voldemort's scream when he break-finish his spell gets me the chills everytime, it feels so powerful
Yea he put everything into it
yessss!!!!!! its so under appreciated lol i love it
I kinda like how they showcase more of Voldemort's power here (like when he absorbs the deflected dark energy to blow up the windows), but i wish they'd have used all the spells from the book (like when Dumbledore brought a statue to life to defend himself against Avada Kedavra, knowing that protecting charms cannot block/deflect it), and also made Dumbledore seem less like he was struggling to defend. Judging by the facial expressions and stances, he seems like he's trying hard to defend himself here, where as in the books, Voldemort couldn't even make him flinch. Dumbledore was pretty much mopping the floor with him in the books like was nothing.
Both have complete control of all the elements. Absolute masterpiece
My sibling and me when there's only one cookie left
lmao
lol
Lmao if there’s one cookie left all three of us will fight for that ONE PIECE OF COOKIE
You told no lies.
Lol at the start, Dumbledore is like
*walks into room outta smoke* 'Sup Bitch. Ready to get owned?
The Book version is infinite times better.
True Bro 😂😂
Thats what literally happened in the books :D
I'm here only for the water spell's sound effects.
It's awesome when your principal protects you
“By which time I will be gone, and you... shall be dead” gives me shivers every time, the delivery is spot on creepy!
Ralph Fiennes made Voldemort feel so real and evil. Great actor
This is like Yoda vs Palpatine.
Seeing this in theaters was incredible. Having read the book prior I was so interested to see how'd they'd handle this duel
It was pretty disappointing honestly. There are subtle changes that don't make any sense.
I think it's really epic. That make both seem outwordly strong
@@cynicalpenguin I mean wrapping someone who is mortal in a water ball for enough time would cause them to drown.....
I love the idea that Dumbledore has fought 2 of the most powerful dark lords of all time, Gellert Grinderwald and Tom Riddle. And he still won Lmao, Dumbledore is just too OP. Please nerf him.
Voldemort showing his great firebending while Dumbledore show his waterbending
I appreciate that Dumbledore is absolutely silent while casting those spells, and Voldemort is like
“EUURGHHHHHH” “ARGHHHH” “NYAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH”
well done Tom. You should’ve realized if you tried to duel the powerful Albus Dumbledore, that you would have made those embarrassing noises. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
"By which time I shall be gone and you, shall be dead."
Epic
Tom surely speak a lot of nonsene for someone within Dumbledore's wanding distance
I can't be the only one who gets goosebumps to this.
NayteThaGreat dude I get emotional.
"The only wizard voldemort ever feared" summed up in one sentence.
Ralph Fiennes is completely insane as Voldemort, and it makes him so much more enjoyable to watch
The whole battle was also meant as a diversion to keep Voldemort on hold so he could not kill Harry and also to let the corrupt Ministry show that Voldemort is indeed back
You can see Tom's smile instanly vanished after he saw Dumbeldor.
"The only one he ever feared"
0:29 you can clearly see that Voldemort is trying to kill Harry during the duel.
Bellatrix left cuz she knew Voldemort will not save her ass if Dumbledore won

The little whistling sounds the wands make while they duel were such a lovely touch in this scene
1:05 Played this scene so many times just to listen to the sound his wand makes 💕💕💕 beautiful 😍
True, most of his films show just how powerful some spells could be

Still gives me chills watching the scene. Two of the greatest wizards of all time having a duel!
I love the fact that Dumbledore addresses Voldemort by his birth name. It shows that he remembers him as the student he was before and he knows how much Voldemort hates being reminded of his past.
The sound design in this scene is just so good. An unforgettable duel
Tom is just jealous that Harry is more Tom than Tom is Tom himself

Tom
Tom riddle is Voldemort's real name.
When Dumbledore shut down the wave of shattered glass Voldemort knew he couldn't defeat him . You could see on his face he knew Dumbledore could counter his every attack and he knew he couldn't best him ... amazing .
1:30 look at Dumbledore's face lmao
🤣
Jack The Ripper Completely agree.
There casting at a far far higher degree of power than any student spells.
same spells but its a fire craxker vs a artillery shells. there at a level no one else could match
Voldemort: YAAAAAH, UMMMP, HEEEYUU, NYEEAAAH

I love how Dumbledore keeps hitting harry back into the ground every time he tries to get up xD
0:50 when I first saw this I thought Ralph Fiennes was an absolute psycho, and I loved it.
If you think he's a psycho there, you should see him in Schindler's List.
lol @ Harry at 1:15 just casually strolling in. The muggle equivalent would be an unarmed defenceless guy casually strolling inbetween 2 guys shooting at each other
😂😂😂
In books Dumbledore wasn't so suprised at every spell Voldemort did...
Voldemort: *Why aren't you trying to kill me , Dumbledore?*
Dumbledore: *Because, Tom...*
*YouDidn'tPutYourNameInTheGobletOfFiah!!* _He said calmly_
What does this mean?
@@MySipuli Its a meme because in the book goblet of fire Dumbledore asked harry if he put the name in the goblet of fire Where as the film dumbledore yelled at harry.
my god these movies really are amazing. Time for the annual binge watch!
I feel as if the Harry Potter movies can only be watched during the months of September, October, November, and December. Maybe that's just me...
spitfire4sergi Annual? If it comes up in conversation I have to watch the movies, sadly I rarely get passed the first three. 😑
Book Voldemort: "I'm using my brain to plan a intimidating move so the whole world will fear me"
Movie Voldemort: "NYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!"
You definitely get more insight with book Voldemort. I remember a passage in DH where he's walking through the village on the way to murder Harry and some kid pops up and compliments his Halloween "costume" and he suppresses the urge to zot the crumb cruncher with:
"Unnecessary. Quite unnecessary".
So book Voldemort is more pragmatic evil. Movie Voldemort seems more chaotic evil.
Damn you, Yates....
The movies make him look like a deranged lunatic who cackles evilly as he says his evil plan. In the books he is a cold, calculating monster.
The expression on Voldermorts face when Dumledore arrives Priceless
One detail I really adore, is how in the "first contact" Dumbledoore keeps his beam steady while also checking on Harry and Voldemort's hand twitches all the time, while his Avada Kedavra uncontrollably flies all over the place. Albus is OG!
