Im finding this very interesting, so you can see mount Fiji and you are on the gold run.....Any history here with regards to gold..please forgive me but i have only had one overnight stay in Japan and that was on a journey coming back from oz. Tell me what is life like in Japan because it just looks so beautiful. Has Fukushima made a lot of difference to people's lives or have they been able to move on....... sorry but you live there so i trust you. 😁
Thanks for your interest in the 'Gold Road' . The ferry connects Shimizu with Toi on the Izu peninsula, where there is a historical gold mine from the Edo period. 'Kogane Kaido' (Gold Road) represents four important historical gold mines of the connecting prefectures ; Niigata, Nagano, Yamanashi and Shizuoka. As far as we know, there weren't any negative effects from the disaster in Fukushima. Our family and millions of Japanese continue to eat seafood and veggies from all over Japan. Japan is an amazing place to live. I hope your overnight stay in Japan was a good one. Cheers.🐟🐟

@GoodBoyChevy we can't complain, weather has been 'soft' for a long time....the last few weeks were strange, one moment a tiny bit of snow and the next day almost 17°C....it's starting to get colder again now...very confusing😄

Thanks Nancy. There's no snow on Fuji san from late spring through summer. This year was the latest in modern history to get it's iconic snow-cap.
