I hardly ever leave comments but I do watch all of your videos and it's my favorite channel about Greece. When possible, I'll be there and because of your tips I know I will enjoy the most the places. I'm considering, when I finally manage to go, May. I'm from Brazil, Rio de Janeiro and it's very hot here so I don't think I want to go there during the summer 😅
I was just in Athens two weeks ago and I loved it. One week wasn’t enough to visit all the sites. I didn’t get to see Delphi and the Meteora. The people spoke English. I felt safe. I stayed at The Athens Gate Hotel. Just walking distance to the acropolis. You can also find the statue of Melina Mercouri. Greece is rich with history. Brought me back to my Greek mythology class in college. Can’t wait to come back ❤
We just arrived in Athens for a few months! We’ve been doing some exploring, and also gradually getting some grocery shopping done. People have been very helpful in the stores when we ask for info in English! Cheers :)
Thank you for this video, I like that your videos are real and not touristy and over produced. I am coming to Athens in March for 4 days, and I'm wondering if you can recommend second hand shops. I am especially interested in vintage silk scarfs, and more elevated items, not the y2k or 90s stuff I saw in several videos. If you have recommendations on places to find vintage - I would really appreciate it!
You’re welcome. Thank you. I’m happy to hear that. Unfortunately that isn’t something I can help with. I’m not a shopper at all. Maybe someone else here is and can recommend something.
My favorite time of the year is Winter! Cold is 50s now that’s not cold! Can’t wait to come again and sit in my balcony and just look at my view! Blessed that my father saw the future of America! My boys can’t wait to move back home ! ❤
I binge watch your videos to get my GREEK FIX :) I honestly think that I might just leave Canada and move to Greece... Just for the food and weather! Thanks for you videos. I absolutely Love the way you share your impressions from the perspective of a non Greek person. Your suggestions have come in handy on my last trip. Keep it up :)
Thank you for sharing another great video. Your videos have been our evening viewing before we come to Athens in 3 weeks. Staying in Koukaki as we like the chilled neighbourhood vibe.
As always, great information and quality cinematography, Tiffany. I’ll look for the cat in October during my visit. Do you know if the scaffolding is up all year? It will be interesting to see if I can book tickets this far in advance. You rock, Tiffany!
A good tip is that from March to October, every first Sunday of each month every sate owned museum and all archaeological sites are free... Be careful though because the lines can be immense...
It is but as you say they can be crowded. The archaeological sites are okay as they are outside but I have been in the National Archaeological museum on a free day and it was crazy crowded.
@@agirlandherpassport You are right, at least for southern Greece it is normal to have more of a "winter experience" in February and March, even snow by the coast every few years .
thank you for showing how nice Athens can be weatherwise in Feb. I would love to be there in Feb. Unfortunately, I hate the idea of getting stuck at the airport or international flight cancellation due to possible bad/severe weather in the mid-Atlantic region of the US in January and Feb. So March is earliest for me to start my travelling
Little known fact: It's colder in the shade because weather temperatures are given in the shade. On sunny days the temperature in the sun can be up to 10 celsius / 18 farenheit warmer than what the weather report says depending on various factors like time of day. This is true all over the world.
Just started watching your videos and find them very informative. Do you know anything about the school system there for grade schoolers? Your response is greatly appreciated.
OK, thanks for responding. I spent and enjoyed a good 2 hours watching your videos 😊 and other videos too about Greece. I haven't been there, but would love to visit someday, Godwilling.
Thank you for this much-needed snippet of Athens in the winter. I've only ever gone in the summer months, and it was both to vacation and visit family. My dad just passed away, and I've been yearning to go and spend some time with my aunt (his sister) and my cousins. I would like to go sooner than later (like maybe late March/early April), but I would like it to be a *bit* warmer than it is now. In your experience, does it warm up a bit more by then? And are there any islands that are warm enough for swimming?
How I love Athens! thanks for sharing this everyday life in my beloved city. I will never stop thanking for it. It is kind of teleportation for me ...
You’re welcome! I’m so glad you enjoyed it.
Beautiful Athens
It’s been a very beautiful winter.

The whole February was like a spring in my city, Thessaloniki.
That’s what Athens has felt like too!
Thank you for this perfekt video. ❤

Wonderful. This was my walk last September. Koukaki and Filopappou Hill. Makes me ache to go back to Greece! Ευχαριστώ Tiffany!!
It’s a great walk. I need to do it more often. You’re welcome!

Thank you so much! I’m so glad to hear that. I do recommend moving here especially for the weather.
This is such an awesome little peek at Athens in February. I love it! I hope it stays warm for us as we'll be there in late March! :)
Thank you so much! I hope it does too

Thanks again, Tiffany! I’m looking forward to visiting Athens mid October

Another great video, Tiffany! 🥰
P.S....you're so close to 10K subs! 🥰🙌 We celebrated 100 subs last week! 🤣

Regarding the weather, i feel that the winter is over for Greece. From now on it will get hotter (week by week). I hope you are ready 😅
Thanks! It’s hard to say. It can get cool again especially in March.

@@agirlandherpassport
It is not the same every year of course but the weather hasn't overall really changed.
great video! how long does it take to tour the Olympieion? is the scaffolding still up? I’m finally going at the end of this month!
Not long, maybe 30 minutes. It isn't a large site and yes, the scaffolding is still up., unfortunately. Have a great trip!
My half Greek husband and I were married in that little church on Philopappou Hill. He'd been baptised there as a baby. 😊
That’s amazing! It’s such a unique church.
It’s Thursday afternoon today in Texas. I have read that Greece can expect rain and high winds!
It was raining a lot this week I heard. I have not been there.

That is always hard to predict right? I would want to be delayed for that either since you don’t know when it might go back to normal.

@@shaulkirsch1263 Probably when I was filming this too!
@@agirlandherpassport 7th to 20th of February 😂

Not usually and especially not to swim. It doesn’t really get warm till May and June. You might be able to swim in Crete or Rhodes but I am not sure.
ground is very clean, don't see any garbage.
How long have you been in Greece how?
Four and a half years now.
El Niño year🇬🇷 or La Niña can’t remember
I can’t either. But it was like this last year too.
Could you tell me how much euros approximately you spend per month on electricity (apartment) in Athens? Thank you ❤
I spend about €75. I do run my AC more the most though. Hope that helps.
@@agirlandherpassport Thank you! 75E is okay. flowers for you.
That tourist wearing shorts was most likely from California or Florida!😂
Definitely American!
