I've been struggling with this song since it first came out, the main riff looks so simple but it's quite hard to get it right. Excellent lesson sir, thank you very much. Greetings from Argentina
love that you dont have a 1min intro and then 3min explanation of what a porcupine is and why it is important to guitars then getting into gear you need and finally starting the lesson at 8 mins
At about 4:00 you start to teach Stone’s riff that starts with with the 1/4 step bends at 3 to open. I’m really trying to nail the tone he has on the record. For this riff, do you think Stone uses pickups that are out of phase to get the sound he has on the record?
just noticed you said in this video that the first riff is rather easier to play faster than slower. then decided to listen few live versions of do the evolution. they usually play it quite faster than the original!
Congrats for the videos, I just love them and learn a lot. Please record "I know somethin (bout you)" from Alice I'm Chains Facelift Album. Hugs from a Brazilian friend, Edu Elias
Just been recording this for a cover with a friend of mine. Mike's part actually seems to have a fair bit going on in the cool riff and the choral section. Quite hard to hear it well enough on the album and he doesn't appear to do it all live either.
@@LetsPlayAll it’s a great lesson, like all your stuff. Check out mikes like descending figure in the hallelujah bit, and there’s some powerchords and fuzzed out shit over Stones cool riff too. He doesn’t appear to make much effort on it live though, just kind of pounds away,
Thanks Fabiano! This is an older lesson 😀 I think for this I used my OCD or if you have a higher gain pedal just turn the gain down so you get a medium Overdrive tone 😀🤘
The song is an absolute masterpiece. A timeless classic.
I love the way you teach, super clear to the point and the tabs are always on point! Thank you for the videos!
OliRocket thanks mate you’re welcome!
This song is amazing and break My head trying to play it . Very Nice. A suggest. Can You get little zoom in fretboard.

Try with tone half way down or with a wha pedal on middle position
Great video mate👍
Great song!!!! Great chanell!!!
Thank you bro
You’re welcome 😊

yea a lot of their songs get a lot quicker live!
Excellent! I was waiting for this one :)
Hey guys! Is this standard tuning ?? Beginners question 😅
It is indeed 😊🤘
@@LetsPlayAll thanks ! Greetings from Chile 🇨🇱!
Thanks for that! As always good work and easy to understand everything. Is mike playing the same? Cant find the second lesson 😉
no worries! hmm i don't think i've done Mike's parts for this tune yet, will add to the list!
@@LetsPlayAll oh!! Great! Thanks!👍

I love how that sounds like 2 guitars
Just watched your video with different pedal combinations . Which one did you use on this one? Really cool sound .
Daniel Martínez Giraldo tumnus into ocd and the single coils do the rest!
Благодарю Тебе, Добрый Человек!!! Всё очень понятно разобрано!!! Привет из России!!!
you're welcome!

Not sure I picked out Mike's bits in another lesson. I feel a review of this lesson is in order!

@@JDODify thanks mate! Yea live it’s very stripped back
@@LetsPlayAll yeah... although the main thing I’m worried about is ripping my throat to shreds when I do the vocal!
@@JDODify 😂
Thanks for the video. I know it's been 3yr, but what setup are u using to sound like that, or ist just your tele?
I actually cant remember what pedals i was using, but for PJ stuff my go to is the 1991 pedal now :-)
I love your classes but I really miss what kind of effect you use on each song. What kind of pedal did you use for this song?
Thanks Fabiano! This is an older lesson 😀 I think for this I used my OCD or if you have a higher gain pedal just turn the gain down so you get a medium Overdrive tone 😀🤘
Great video mate. What palm muted chords is Mike playing over the admire me etc part?
I want to know this too!
Is your tone basically coming from that Victory amp?
That and pedals but yea I use the Victory V40 in all my vids, just set almost clean, just on edge of breakup with a pretty neutral eq
Hey do you know where i can finds the tabs of the live version of porch?
SRPALME4 there’s a few live versions 😉 no idea mate, I figure out the tabs I use myself.
What tuning are you in
std
What guitar effect do you use for this song?
Fabian Hayos tumnus and ocd for this one 🤘
i don't get your strumming.. the tab show only the riff on E and A string, but it looks like you are strumming all strings
on the intro you mean? for that I'm just keeping my right hand loose and aim to strike the top 3-4 strings
Standar tunning right?
Yep!
@@LetsPlayAll thanks man!
Eduardo Dehnhardt no probs!
If you ever feel the need to do some skype lessons, count me in! Greetings from Greece
thanks mate, i don't have time for one-on-one Skype lessons at the moment but i'll let you know if that changes!
What's the tuning?
Jack Wolf standard tuning for this one (makes a nice change 😀)
@@LetsPlayAll thank u sm for the reply, cool vid dude
Jack Wolf no worries 😉
if you can play TV Eye, you can play Do The Evolution.
The choral breakdown is missing from this
Ha le ju la!
They dint look like the type of people to make this kind of song
the opening riff is just bad ass!
How fat is your guitar tone! The bridge pickup has high output, right?
It’s a pretty meaty single coil! Does kinda humbucker sounds tbh
