My daughter recently started flute. She absolutely loves her Di Zhao 200! It has such a beautiful tone, even as a young beginner. She can even play low notes with ease, I’m told many beginners struggle with low notes when they are starting out.
These are all great flutes!! I am impressed on how Gemeinhardt updated their cases and added a cleaning cloth into the case! My favorite one out of the last ones that you played was the Di Zhao. My sister started on a Gemeinhardt 2SP but it wasn’t as nice as that one🥰❤️
Thank you, very helpful! I played the flute a long time ago but lately have felt a strong urge to return and wanted to hear some different brands. I really like the sound of the Trevor James!
Is there a reason why a Yamaha flute is not in your list? I'm impressed by the quality of all the three you recommend, but the reputable flute brand I can have access to is Yamaha.
you should make a new video for beginner flutes with yamaha, jupiter, azumi, miyazawa, haynes...😊 for beginner adults, who are ready to spend more budget for the instrument😊
Hi!!! I haven't touched a flute yet...and I really wanted to learn playing flute...the question is if I will buy it...what key should I buy? What is the regular or common key being use..THANK YOU!
Can a B key foot joint be added to a beginner flute? I play trombone. I like playing flute. I am not versed enough to get open hole. I'm basically broke. I gave my last working flute to a kid at church. Anyway, I want to maha de carnival aka black Orpheus a day in the life of a fool. I need a low B. For that one song. Is there a beginner type flute, closed hole etc with a B foot. I probably need a riser. My flute technique isn't good. Though I play trombone, I used to carry flute whenever I flew because it fit my luggage. Haven't flown or played flute in a while. Anyway, B key. But easy to play
Technically, yes it is possible. Why do u need a specific riser? Do u understand what a riser is? And yes, there are beginner flutes with closed holes and b foot (i.e. pearl 505 and 525, and Di Zhao 200 and 300 series).
@@davidkang6433 Your video was the first time I heard the word riser about a flute. But I've heard that sound. I thought that sound was only possible with heavy silver or something. But it's definitely the riser. My sister had e flute that sounded like that. She doesn't play or know what it is. Intended to learn. I tried another that was the same model that was nothing like hers. Had to be a riser. Much more accessible to me as a casual player to hit notes with confidence. I'll rewatch your videos to learn more. If you have a riser suggestion that'd be great.
@@mandelharvey3429 See, every flute has a riser, it’s about the material of the riser. For you I’d recommend a silver or silver plated riser (that’s all you can find in your budget as well)
I recently bought the Gemeinhardt 2sp flute. I was already thinking about buying it, but you sealed the deal and made me get it! Thanks for the excellent review! (the flute hasn't shipped to me yet though)
I've been considering getting a flute for years now. I've played recorder for 13 years (and tenor recorder for a number of those too), but the flute has always interested me. My problem is I'm allergic to nickel. So should I even consider getting one? Is the mouthpiece typically only silver plated as well? I'm not too worried about my fingers, but would love my lips to not be affected...

I love how every time I’m considering getting a flute as a secondary instrument I always see a new video from you pop up😂

That Di Zhao flute sounds as gd as some flutes costing 10 times more! Amazing..
I started on an Artley, then Gemeinhardt then Muramatsu.

I am currently trying to decide what my secondary instrument might be, and I am split between trumpet and flute.
Hello Gina thank you for your video. I’d like to ask you if you have an updated flute recommendations today? (Any option in black? 🖤) TIA!!!!
Thank you so much I am currently looking for a good quality beginners flute this video was so helpful.
Did you find one because indeed help too I'm looking for a flute for band

Their 200 series - 400 series (Which are their student flutes) range from 1k - 4k dollars, which is probably why
@@bloosix That makes sense. In Japan and some parts of Europe, their 200 series can be had for around $700.

By the way, nice playing!
What’s the price point for each?
A lot. 😂

try a gold plated head joint and or lip plate!
I know this isn't exactly the same but you could maybe try one made out of wood or bamboo (but just be careful because bamboo can split)
You mentioned that the flutes are silver plated, but what metal is underneath the silver plating?
Normally it’s a metal like nickel.
Nickel
You are so pretty 😍
