I also think The Amazing Spider-Man, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story, Jumanji, Balto, and The Land Before Time whenever I hear James Horner.
when I think of james horner I only think about mighty young joe, braveheart, beautiful mind, the grinch, alien!, the new world, and many more. Never watched titanic, Avatar soundtrack wasnt good in my opinion, had no idea it was by horner, I guess it wasnt his best job ever.
and also How The Grinch Stole Christmas, Radio, The Forgotten, and The Karate Kid, while I have claimed Titanic as one of my top favorite scores by James Horner
Thank you James for the most moving movie scores ever written. My heart breaks to know we'll never hear anything more from you......it makes what we have even more precious if that's even possible. With love and appreciation forever, Marie S.
I was 8yo when I watched this movie, this song was always in my heart. I recently introduced the movie to my 10yo son & he loved it! He can't have enough of this song either! Also, the fact they sing this in Swahili is deep & profound, so proud of my language! Thank you James Horner for this master piece. Gone but never to be forgotten.
The generations now will never know the greats of the 90s and beyond, Rest in Peace Patrick Swazye, James Horner, Robin Williams, Philip Seymour, Fred Ward so many in the last 5 years 🥺 may their legends forever live in these masterpiece of movies like Mighty Joe Young. When we watched these when we were kids, we knew what they truly were 🧡
What a truly magnificent piece of music written by one of the giants of film music, so sadly missed but never to be forgotten. Thank you James Horner and thank you for this wonderful down load
I think this song should be dedicated to all those who had passed on. For example, Stan Lee, Stephen Hawking, Avicii, R. Lee Ermy, David Ogden Stiers, Carrie Fisher, Brian Murray, and Bud Luckey
I legit get goosebumps from hearing this. Any composer who can do that is automatically a god in my book. RIP James Horner. I adored and loved your work. It's such a damn shame. Love you man.
This movie came out the year I was born years later me and the fam watched it and what an amazing movie. Just listening to the song gives me goosebumps and calms me. I don’t understand the language but I can feel it truly amazing. Thanks to the producers of the movie and song and the singers 🙏🏼

Joe Young brought me here.. TYJ! I fell in love the first time I heard it. Its so beautiful.. RIL Mr James Horner... Your music will live on forever! ❤❤❤
I love this song so much. James Horner must have been an angel among us, that he was capable of composing such musics, like this and Titanic and so on. He was a new age Mozart!
“Titanic” was released just one year before he scored this film. Both scores are quite powerful and really tug at your heartstrings. Horner won two Academy Awards for “Titanic.” He won for Best Original Score and Best Song “My Heart Will Go On.”
James Horner was a great composer. He composed The Music of some of my Favorite Movies And that is One of his best soundtracks! R.I.P. James Horner:( It‘s a so emotionally soundtrack.
Growing up, this was one of the first pieces of movie composition to bring tears to my eyes. Years later, I believe this influence played a part in why I enjoyed Avatar so much. I just felt an emotional connection with the na'vi, and I believe it came back to this song and the emotions it evoked. Rest well Maestro Horner. Thank you for blessing us with your music. ❤
Your work was beautiful, lush and so powerful! Thank you James Cameron for helping move our hearts in a world that often makes us go numb inside. You will be missed!!
James Horner was one of the composers who can make me feel really emotional with just his music alone 😭. Along with Alan Silvestri, Howard Shore, James Newton Howard, Michael Giacchino, and John Williams . RIP 🙏.

I'd have to say this is one of only a few songs that has stuck with me over the years, ever since the movie was released. I may not be able to understand the words, but the musical score, that's something that really stays with you. Still love this song, no matter how much time has passed.
They should release this back in theaters I will never forget the first I saw this in the movie theater I saw amazed by what I was watching, I think this movie is absolutely beautiful and the music is just wonderful. Go Joe run you are free
I have to admit that I loved the original 1949 film, more than the remake. But Horner's music helped place it only 1 notch down from the film with my favorite actor, and Role Model, Ben Johnson. 👍👍 10⭐ to both films, and countless thanks to the late James Horner, for his super talent at enhancing films for us all.
This song is a masterpiece or should I say this film is a masterpiece and the two things about this film that made it incredible was Miss Charlize Theron and the late Mr Bill Paxton and the soundtrack by Mr James Horner has me crying every single time I listen to it especially this song RIP James Horner and Bill Paxton
2:31, 3:58, 5:46, 6:48 & 8:22 That’s the song I 1st heard from the VHS opening of The Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride. I like that part of the music of Disney’s Mighty Joe Young.
I love this so much, it’s emotive, it just gets to you. A great soundtrack to one of the first films I saw at the cinema as a kid. And there’s a particular part of this soundtrack that when I first heard it, reminded me of the film Jumaji, and guess who scored that film? I love it when I hear a signature sound from a composer.
Rest In Peace my master...
To this day I still sing this song, and it brings back wonderful memories from my childhood. I would love a full score of this masterpiece, if anyone knows where I can purchase a copy, please let me know. I would love for my band and choir to perform this song. Thank you :)
Love this song brings back great and awesome memories of my childhood this movie was and still is great to show our kids... my daughter's love the movie same as the song...

Same here. It’s tragic that he died in a plane crash at age 62. He still had a lot left in him, but it ended too soon.

You can see similarities with this one and Avatar themes
This reminded me of Kong's theme from Godzilla v Kong and James Cameron's Avatar.
Sad you can’t get the song on iTunes 😟😰
Does anybody know if this has been performed live and if there’s footage?
What's the solo instrument at 4.40 and the whistle-type instrument?

Sorry for the late reply. Sounds to me like it's a pan flute.
This is a better Avatar score than the score he wrote for Avatar
