Even if they're already together again, I still get emotional every time I watch this performance. It's just so emotional 😅
The line that Baekhyun broke on is where he is singing "You are not alone" and singing that to Xiumin right before he was the first member of EXO to do their mandatory enlistment is sooooo many levels of beautiful and heart-breaking.
Baekhyun doesn't break often but when he does it kills me....

In this video, Baekhyun cries while singing the part "Don't wanna be out of time, even when we are apart The paper cuts in my hand, you're not alone" he became more emotional when he turned to Xiumin, why did they turn towards Xiumin, because Xiumin was going to undergo military service where Xiumin was the first member to go to military service so Baekhyun was more emotional.
And now..... I'm all emotional at work. This song just gets me everytime. Especially after knowing why Baekhyun broke down. I just love this group so much. They always have a song for anything I'm going through, and ya'll always crack me up. 😊😊😊

On a slightly more uplifting(?) related tale~ A little bit after this performance, Xiumin had his pre-enlistment fanmeet, and all the members surprised him (they even called Lay on the phone, when they came out!)^.^ And Xiumin rarely breaks & cries in front of people, but something about Kai's expression, when he was doing his little speech to Xiumin, broke Xiumin. He started bawling. To lighten the mood & distract while Xiumin got himself together, Baekhyun jokingly protested Xiumin not crying during the CBX moment, and Baekhyun demanded he get to do his own little speech again with tears from Xiumin~^.^
I cried again. Every time i hear this song, at baekhyuns part. Its so sad but beautiful and their vocals are amazing.
Thanks again. I'm so glad you did this reaction and got to see another side of the boys. Like you said this was right before xiumins enlistment and he was the first one to go. So everyone was sad/ emotional and this just shows their bond with each other❤
This moment hits so hard because it's relatively quieter. Baekhyun is not bowling his eyes out, he's so caught up in the emotions of the performance that he can't perform (which is a first for him)
While it’s so sad to see them get emotional onstage or cry, I think songs like this really show the humanity behind the members and the closeness of the group. Even more emotional than this is exo’s Promise, it’s a song, written first by Lay and then translated to Korean by Chen and Chanyeol just after the three members left. It promises they will stay with Exo-I through thick and thin, no matter how hard it is for them. It’s genuinely the most humbling song I’ve ever listened to and I would love for you to watch the live performance. It’s a window into the kind of emotions that we’re flying around during Exo’s darkest and most difficult year as a group.
one of the things that also make EXO different from other groups is their brotherhood. These boys went through a lot contrary to what non-EXO fans believe. Thus, it is always evident on thier actions how sincere they are to each other. This is why EXO has a lot of OT9 loyal fans esp non- Koreans.

The other really powerful emotional song is EXO's Promise, but you have to understand what was going on with them to get why. It is a promise made to EXO-L that they won't let us down after a horrible year when two members left (then followed the following year by the third), stating that they are sorry for the pain they have caused many fans in all the uncertainty but that they will pay back our love and commitment. It's a special song for EXO-L, especially those who went through that time, written mainly by Lay with Chen, Chanyeol and Baekhyun also involved. It's very personal. It was only performed for a short time and you have to watch it live to see the emotional bond between the group and their fans.

Like any EXO- L I love rewatching Exo performances hundreds of times over, but this particular one I rarely do because I really cannot handle all the feels 😭 this is what sets Exo apart from all other groups. This incredible ability to convey emotion even in a foreign language. They are such beautiful performers and human beings. Thank you for the EXO CONTENT. PLEASE REACT TO ELYXION CONCERT SETS WHERE THEY WEAR DAPPER BROWN AND GREY SUITS - Calle Me Baby, Touch it, Chill, For Life… and the one where theyre wearing white military style uniforms: Intro, The Eve, Forever, Growl, Ko Ko Bop FUCKING LEGENDARYYYYY. So you can see how they change up concert version from studio version. Theyre always better live! Especially D.O. Always switches up his adlibs and harmonies
It might not seem like such a big thing to people outside the fandom, but you have to remember how closely tied the whole group had been for so many years, living and working together, and how much they’d been through, good and bad, mentally and physically. Knowing that one of them was about to be absent from that personal and professional circle for the first time in all those years must have had a significant emotional impact. I know I had been worried about it for six years before it happened!
This gets me every time. Once you know the reasoning behind his emotional hesitation, it shows you how much they mean to each other. They truly are a family to one another. Xiumin was going to be leaving for his military service and it would only be 18months, but that would be the first time any one of them would be gone that long. They did projects separately and between acting and variety shows and EXO content, sure, they might go a few days or weeks without getting to see one another, but for the most part, they see each other all the time. In an interview, Baekhyun said that he happened to look at Xiumin right before he sang and thought he looked sad, and when you sung the lyrics "Don't wanna be out of time, even when we're apart.....the papercuts in my head, you are not alone" just got to him because they came from a real place. He knew they were in fact running out of time because this was their last concert before his departure. I cry every time i watch this and i've seen it hundreds of times. I love them so much. EXO FOREVER.
Also, minor note, I didn't notice it til now, but we are EXO-L's....not EXOLS. (ex oh el) like the letter L. As I said, minor, but yeah.

I feel like that shows the versatility of CBX as not just a fun group but a matured deep emotional group as well. They do everything so real because I can swear they have a little bit of everything I. Their discography. Please don’t skip their b sides. They are so so so good. What make this performance hit home is how you see both chen and baek turning to xiumin and singing directly to him and when baekhyun saw how emotional xiumin was he broke down and baekhyun rarely show the emotional side of him when the other members cry or get emotional he'll be the one cracking jokes hugging them and lifting the atmosphere up even if he's crying inside which was a rare precious moment telling you a lot about how much they mean to each other
Fun fact :when xiumin got discharged he made fun of baekhyun in this clip totally ignoring how he xiumin cried like a baby in kai arms when the members decided to surprise him on his last fanmeeting right before his enlistment 😂😂

It's such a cute and bubbly song, and actually an excellent tribute fro the genres from the 70s-80s, production wise. The live stage of this track is straight up serotonin boost for me.
6:00 one thing about Exo, I don't know if its because they're actors or if they're indeed so emphatic but whilst singing any song their body language is always so much in sync with the mood and lyrics of the song as if they're feeling every word and rythm on a deep emotional level. I noticed that especially in their ballads that they sing with so much emotions, it could make the listener to shed tears. I know because I did in "Promise", "Paper Cut", "Miracles in December", "Sing for you" and "Runaway".
Ah man, this teared me up for years and I finally got to a point where my eyes could suck the tears back but now when Baekhyun got to the "Don't wanna be out of time" part, I thought about both Kai and soon Sehun being gone for a few yrs has me sad again. I know serving your country is an honor but I will be so glad when enlistments are over for EXO for them so they can all finally focus on the rest of their future and do whatever they want to do but I'll be glad for myself too lmao I can't handle anymore goodbyes to each of them 🥺

I've seen the full performance of this concert multiple times. Xiumin also performed "Don't Go" as a solo song with sign language in the choreography. His enlistment was rough since he was the first but he did a solo fan meeting before he left and an online one with Baekhyun as the guest host when he came back. He also released his solo song "You" before he left.
While he was in the military he was so good at shooting they made him an instructor but they also sent him to the demilitarised zone 😭
This is a beautiful song and this performance makes it even more emotional than it already is ❤️

Since Christmas time is here I hope you dive more into their winter album discography.. Miracles in December, Universe, Sing For You and For Life are the ones that have mvs.. For more cheerful christmas songs, their live performance of 'Unfair' at Inkigayo and 'The First Snow' at SMCU Palace are good options.. I am sure you'll laugh a lot while watching Unfair 😊

Xiumin was the first one is going to enlist and this was their first experience to not be an active group anymore with all members and this hurt them more because of all what happened before of losing members. After that they were going into a loop of military service duty all of them and still not finished yet 😭
Everytime I watch this stage I cry remember how hard was that time because Xiumin was the first one going to military. At that time I cried a river... Happily (in some way) Xiumin was able to participate in a musical during his military period (he found KyungSoo in second season of that musical) and we had the opportunity to see many clips about Xiu going in and going out of the coliseum and watch an streamed stage of it.
I feel like all EXO-Ls who watch this will get emotional because Xiumin was the first one to leave for the Military. It was an emotional time and I still remember the way I felt during those times. And I can’t believe that we’re about to send off our maknae to the Military in a few days. After that, we’ll finally be done with the enlistment era.
Baekhyun part was so emotional that's why he stop singing and hold on to cry because Xiumin is the frist member to ENLIST

There's a song called 'Promise' by EXO, Chen,Chanyeol wrote the Lyrics & Lay produced the song. It's about them couldn't keeping the promise to be 12 members forever (about all the things happened in 2014)

Yessss, I was waiting for you to react to this. It's 6 am here and I'm in tears. But thank you for doing this. This song is what got me into EXO. Saw a reel where they use the part of the song where Baekhyun choked up, recognized the Japanese phrase "Hanarete itemo" which means 'Even if we're apart', found the title of the song, led me to another reel with the exact same part with BH and I. AM. DONE. FOR. This song and this vid will always have a special place in my heart. This vid or another one has subtitles if you wanna know the lyrics.
BH said before that when they turned to face eo, he saw Xiumin's face and he looked so sad. 😭 That's why he got choked up. And with the lyrics so fitting. BH isn't really a crybaby so him choking up like this hits different.😢
I initially thought that this was EXO's main vocal line. I was mindblown when I found out Xiumin's not even in the main vocal line, like with the voice like that, how? The vocal quality in this group is astounding. Here's smth to make you smile after this: Xiumin later on made fun of Baekhyun for breaking down here, imitating him and all. 😭😅

9:00 when Beakhyun got to the "you're not alone" part he just couldn't sing. He rarely gets emotional but Xiumin has been a big pillar of emotional support for everyone in the group during difficult times. It was the first time a member was leaving. Noticed how unintentionally Xiumin is the only one wearning white while Baekhyun and Chen are wearing Black. Baekhyun and Chen were facing the audience when singing the song but for that specific part they hard to turn to each other and Baekhyun lost composure when he saw Xiumin.
Funfact, don't worry when Xiumin came back from military he pulled Baekhyun's leg so much for that performance 😂 he even reenacted that scene.

This is a poignant performance to a sad, but beautiful song. Made even more poignant by Xiumin being the first going into the military. (And now the last, Sehun, will be enlisting in 5 days.) ... There's the Baekhyun crying part ofc, but then it also hurts me that Xiumin is already rather abruptly starting to fade to black when he hasn't even finished singing the end yet. That extra bit of symbolism of him vanishing, leaving only a black void where a cutie Xiumin was just a moment ago. Ugh.😢
