- On February 1, 2023, the LEGO community experienced the greatest news / reveal / LEGO leak in history with a whopping 12 prototype sets being leaked. These sets, which belonged to the Disney, Star Wars, Marvel, DC, Zelda, Lord of the Rings and Castle properties piqued the interest of pretty much everyone in the LEGO world. While the leaks came out in late January, the news didn't hit the greater community until February 1, 2023 - this is the story of The Day LEGO Leaks Changed Forever

A bigger issue than leaking is seeding influencers WAY too early. LAN members are reviewing sets 6 weeks before release which greatly impacts the peak of hype on a given release. Half the August releases I thought were already out based on the frequency of videos on the sets.
I agree. LAN members have an unfair advantage and LEGO knows this. LEGO should send them the sets AFTER release, this way everyone gets the set at the same time > everyone is hyped > reviews come out simultaneously > everyone is happy.
Leaks will always be intriguing no matter in what level of the fandom one resides. I wonder what the leaking landscape could look like if LEGO chose to work with it, instead of trying to control it altogether 🤔...
...Unless they already are? 😱
I wouldn't be surprised if LEGO is pro-leak these days. It doesn't seem to hurt them whatsoever.

I was one of the first ones to see the threads on Eurobricks, so obviously I thought they were fake. Was very surprised when the images were leaked.
I hope Lego releases that Medieval Village prototype, it looked awesome. Day 1 buy for me.
I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get any of the Disney sets- but who knows, I could be wrong. I'd love to see the Medieval Village set hit shelves- that's one set I *NEED*

For myself I feel like “Leaks” is a bit of a mixed bag. While I’m interested to see what might possibly be coming, I feel like a lot of us get stuck in this constant cycle of “what’s the next big thing coming?” Why can’t we just enjoy what we have in our collections already and be satisfied with that for a time? At any rate, nice vid Ritchie!
I think this is a great mindset to have, Scott. Unfortunately, I think this attitude of "what's next" is something that's not exclusive to LEGO- it makes sense that this behavior has also made its way into the LEGO fandom. How do you feel about fake leaks? I know a lot of people freak out about them but I think they're rather funny.
@@OurToyWorld I think they're kinda funny as well. I feel like most of them its previous obvious they're fake but not always.

Hi,any chance you can make a content about the seemingly forgotten theme of LEGO Samurai and Ninja in the latter half of the 90's? They were massively underrated and as far as I know, it was a Castle Sub-theme.
I'd love to explore that theme when I get a chance. Not sure what/if any lore exists, but talking about the line as a whole is something I have thought about doing in the past. For one, I think it could have been a much bigger theme had LEGO not shoved it under the Castle umbrella. Give me a few weeks, I will try to make a video.

Supposedly the Zelda set will drop in 2024. The fact we are getting X-men figs in the upcoming Marvel Cmf wave is a good sign the mansion set might actually happen as well. I haven’t heard anything about the others from that leak but those 2 supposedly are dropping in 24. I hope they make more from the castle theme as well. 🤞
I like the way you're thinking, Sidious. I really hope we get that Medieval Village set. You know I'm down for anything Castle related. I doubt we'll receive all of those Disney sets though. I'd be surprised if we continue to receive a plethora of Disney sets after the 100th anniversary. Then again, you never know.
sometimes people are too eager to be the first ones to release the information. some of the leaks were so far fetched but people are so willing to believe
Great point. With fake leaks on the rise, we won't know if these rumors are true until 2024 or 2025, when some of these prototypes are rumored to come out.
