Thanks for your helpful advice. My (no sunroof) BMW is the most expensive and newest car I've ever bought in last 30 years and yet, it has puddles of water in passenger footwell all the time. The BMW main service agent was confused as to why this happens . I'll send them this video!
It will either come from the door seal or through the water barrier (in this video), or the windshield cowl grill Part # 51-71-7-203-124 and down through the driver floorboards to the back passenger floorboard. Not to mention the sunroof drain tube that could clog and either drip into the door frame and onto the passenger floorboard...or the battery well in the trunk. I swear BMW made great vehicles that could withstand Bavarian snow, rain, and salt on the roads but get them wet outside of Germany and they are like a leaky submarine.

Их функция отогнуть резиновый уплотнитель от двери. В таком случае вода льется по двери в низ. Потом когда будет время, сниму обшивку и проклею.

So now the water just fills up inside the door instead of spilling out? Did you find how water was getting into the door to begin with? You temporarily fixed a symptom, not the initial problem.
@@world_of_engineering so why there was a leak in your car? due to heavy rain and it was to much water for this drainage? thats why the water found another way to get out?
Water came out of vapour barrier where there was breach and when door was shut it spill into footwell instead of via drain which sends it outside. The barrier is there to prevent this.
amazing how bmw do this on porpose on many models for many years and dont fix it... because its made to brake so they can make more money.... its now 2 times the car being on the mechanic because of this and i only own the car for 1 year.....

@@meltedMatt1 ah understood. Yes it was a temporary fix and it worked very well👌🏻 Make something similar while you order and buy everything necessary for the permanent fix
If you could show before and after refitting barrier with water test that would be perfect. Ie without attached barrier properly it came out of door card instead of drain that would prove it was the barrier .

can you explain the cowl grill part? i have a 2011 e90 and i checked the sunroof and doors. they seem fine. ive been suspecting it was the front.

You need to clean mud in between door sheets below the door. Probably door's holes are clogged.

water always gets into the door, there is a special drainage
@@world_of_engineering I don't think so. Otherwise that drainage would be lower. And door would get rusty in few years
