I followed the directions to the T, smoked these chops low & slow today with potato bombs on my weber kettle. They were a huge hit. Had a neighbor come out to investigate so I did the neighborly thing & shared a plate. These were awesome. My wife loved them & that's the most important vote for me. Many thanks to Malcom for sharing this great recipe. Thanks brother....
Malcolm, you've changed my life. Your recipes are so great. Whenever I plan Sunday dinner for the family, I first watch some of your vids. We have basically just had Malcolm Reed Sunday dinner since I got my pellet grill. You're like part of the family. If you are ever in Utah, stop by the house and I'll make you dinner. It'll probably be one of your recipes😆.
Absolutely. I've done probably 6 of his recipes. Everything turned out amazing. I was really amazed by how much flavor pork chops get on the smoker. Never really thought about doing them until I watched this video. Smoked chicken wings will probably be my next recipe this Spring.
I just made these today. It was my first time ever cooking pork chops. I followed everything, and I was making them for my mother-in-law and she was generous enough to let me have one LOL she told me since I cook for her I deserved it. And boy am I glad. This was amazing and this is how I will always make my pork chops LOL I accidentally started smoking them on 225 so they took a little bit longer but the fat was tender, melted as soon as I bit into it, and the flavor was outstanding. Hands-down this has been the best tasting thing I have made in my smoker.
Damn, Malcolm, I followed your baby back ribs recipe on my gas grill 10 days ago, and they came out really good. Then last Thursday I got a Traeger for Father's Day, did the same recipe, and they were beyond delicious, best I've ever had by far. Smoke ring went clear to the bone. Next day, I did your smoked whole chicken recipe for a dinner party, and had another hit on my hands. Today, for Father's Day, I'm doing these with full confidence. Thank you, SIR! Update: 10/29/21. I cooked these again last night, only with fresh-pressed cider from Apple Hill near Placerville, CA. Amazing stuff! Thank you again!
I started BBQing in COVID times and this was a great thing to keep family all around in one place.... Never stopped doing so since then. Thank you for all the lessons I freely took from you. God Bles!
I like the fact that he doesn't slather on a bunch of sweet syrupy glaze onto these chops. Smoked chops are the best, especially the thick cuts. Also, his chops come out moist and juicy. Big thumbs up on this video !
This guy is the BBQ king!!! Studying the art of reverse searing and temperature monitoring. Combined with proper seasoning and smoking with woods like cherry and pecan have single handedly saved my bbq's
I've done these multiple times this way on my BGE and it is fantastic. Every weekend we do a different recipe off your channel. Malcolm you're the best!
I am relativley new to wood pellet smoking grills. I went straight to the top and picked up the gmg jim bowie. I have tried most of your recipes along with several from other channels and none of of them are no where near yours. You're the best. Thank-you
I'm a dad cook. I have followed so many recipes and I always have to fix them. This is the first recipe that is exactly perfect first time. My son can be picky, but he ate like it was McDonald's. This man needs a cookbook.
I have tried 5 or 6 of your recipes and have never once had a bad outcome. I also love your products. I lived in Southaven for 8 years and I wish I would have known about you then, I would have loved to meet you. Thanks for your videos! Keep em coming.
I made this for my family and followed all instructions. My kids and wife ask me for more because they were incredibly delicious and tasted amazing. Thanks for sharing this recipe.
Made these tonight, followed the directions to the tee. I did pull them off at 130 degrees and seared them on the grill. Absolutely perfect, Great flavor!
Indeed even with today's UA-cam rules they earn more money past the 10 min mark. That's why you see so many videos just barely over 10 filled with blah blah blah to make them longer.
I used the marinate today on thick sliced loin chops and seasoned as suggested but I cooked them on indirect heat on my gas grill using pecan smoking chips. About 17 minutes total cooking time. The result was moist and delicious, thanks so much. Made for a nice dinner party.
Malcom, you do the best job of making everything very clear. You are specific in what you do to include the temperature and duration. You always recap (summary) which seems to bring it all together. Keep on truckin'!!
I made these over the weekend. They were the best pork chops I ever made and it got thumbs up from the entire family. I used my Weber Kettle and setup the coals using the snake method to keep an even 275 degrees, and used Cherry wood for some sweet smoke. I'm doing these again this weekend.
Malcolm, I tried your recipe tonight it it can out great!!...My crew says it was a 10 of 10..I did brained for 5 hours...used 1 3/4 thick port chops and everything went as planed....juicy even after a 1 1/2 hour cooldown....thanks a bunch for your videos
I just started smoking and have been following your channel and I tried these pork chops tonight for dinner and now i know why you had to take that second bite. They were the best chops i have ever tasted. Thanks for being my virtual mentor in this barbeque adventure. Keep up the good work.
Did this recipe almost exactly yesterday, finished the chops on a super hot cast iron griddle and WOW! Best thing I’ve ever made! Thanks for the inspiration!
I am from South Africa. The thing is I love a Braai meat and a Grilled one, especially Lamb(Ribs) and a Pork, and I can do them just fine. At home when there's a family gathering, I'm the one who is Braai master, and my family have been giving me some good compliments about my Braai meat. This year I've been thinking of making this Official, I was thinking of selling a Grilled Saucy Pork Chops @my previous University, and I have already counted the profit, and this business it's gonna make a lot of money, but the problem was that I didn't know when to apply the sauce on the Pork Chops, so it's all thanks to this channel, good people wish me good luck for my business or pray for me, so that it may be a success.
Made these this afternoon. Family loved them. The marinade recipe makes a lot of marinade. Only used a little more than half of it. Paired them with some twice baked potatoes on the Daniel Boone.
I just wanted to say thank you. I followed your recipe (on a kamado), and it turned out terrific. It had been a few years since I had a porkchop. I "liked"
Made these tonight for the first time and they are fantastic! Thank you for sharing this video, Malcolm. Your videos are terrific and I learn a lot from them!
I use the same brine but I put in a couple shots of a bourbon… usually whatever I have the least of… I let it sit overnight and then put the tub on in the morning. Let them sit all day and smoke in the evening. I swear the bourbon is the secret. It comes through so well. Give it a shot. Happy smokes
Using this method tomorrow. Made up two different brines, one with Tennessee apple butter rub, and one with cane and maple rub. Gonna do two chops with each brine / rub, but gonna let soak in the brine overnight instead of 2hrs. Cooking on a pit boss 820 pro using competition blend pellets.
Malcom could flip a shopping cart on a campfire and grilled pork chops (or anything) better than I ever could. I’ve seen videos now of him cooking on commercial smokers, offsets, gas grills, Kamado’s, UDS’s, it doesn’t matter. Just proves it isn’t the grill, it’s the griller...
Thanks for this recipe. I have made it a couple of times now with some Pork Chop Ribeyes. They turned out great and they have saved me some money, since the price of beef is so high now. Thanks again. I "liked" and subscribed
I just use yellow mustard and a rub right before being placed on the heat straight from the fridge. Monitor the temp. Hover them at 145 for 4 hours, then slowly stoke them up to 175. Applewood works great.
I have got a Yoder YS 640s and I have never seen anyone use a Yoder with the smoke stack in the down position before. Was that intentional and if so what was the purpose?
Great video dude! I had no idea how to smoke chops and this pretty much answered all my questions! I like that you used a darker reddish rub to kinda give a BBQ look.
I tried brine-ing some chops and they turned out fantastic. It made such a difference. I'm going to do that from now on.. I think the salt pulled in the sugar into the meat.. like candy.. Thanks
Hey, Malcolm. Thanks from Australia for your videos. I really like your style. I've followed this recipe today and have 4 chops in the Char Griller using the Minion Method as I'm writing this. I look forward to watching more of your videos mate. Thanks again. Oh, and geez your Yoder is nice!
Just cooked up some boneless chicken thighs with this recipe (toned down a notch) and it came out winners! Mahalo for the video instructional. Thanks to your videos i can manage to make some pretty decent grub. (:
You are the Michael Jordan of grilling, i would love to meet you, i follow your grilling methods and everyone things im the best cook, thanks for your videos!!
Awesome video. I'm fixin to to go start my smoker right now. Hopefully be eating some chops in a little bit. I always have a tough time with pork. No pun intended. No matter what I've done in the past it's ended up dry and tough. Now that I've watched the video I know what to do. Big ole thanks from South Mississippi! BTW, I wholeheartedly agree on the Montreal Steak seasoning. I've been using it for years. Can't beat it.
How many grills does this guy have? I don't think I've seen him use the same one twice yet! Great tips and tricks. Everything I've done have been excellent!
Malcome, I love your craft, Sir. Would it be possible to look at doing something with a pork tomahawk untrimmed? I have recently started smoking with a bullet smoker and am loving life in my little pit 😀
I followed the directions to the T, smoked these chops low & slow today with potato bombs on my weber kettle. They were a huge hit. i thought you did the neighborly thing and told him to fuck off 🤣
All depends how much ya like your neighbor. Haha.

You've got the best grilling channel on youtube hands down
Agree

My wife and I just did the smoked wings! Awesome!!!
I agree every time I'm trying to find info before a smoke i find my self watching his videos

I find i don't like the smell of cherry wood. Don't know why but to me it smells almost chemical.
I've done these multiple times this way on my BGE and it is fantastic. Every weekend we do a different recipe off your channel. Malcolm you're the best!
you go indirect on the BGE?
no, direct at 250*
I am relativley new to wood pellet smoking grills. I went straight to the top and picked up the gmg jim bowie. I have tried most of your recipes along with several from other channels and none of of them are no where near yours. You're the best. Thank-you

Made these tonight for the family, followed everything 100%. My aunt said that "it was like eating a piece of heaven." You're the best!
What I love about Malcolm ..is that he keeps it simple!..lots of information in just a few minutes..you don’t have to watch a 20min video..

new to smoking here...i watch all these videos but always come back to yours. You're the only one i've found that shows things step by step.
I used the brine technique on some thick cut chops tonight. I will never do chops any other way. This was amazing!
Malcom "The Man" Reed, always a great taste with your techniques.
Malcom, all of your videos make me hungry. Thanks for the videos, they're great help to us home smokers.
I have watched many of Malcoms videos,he has a pure passion and gift for what he does. Jesus Loves you man.

Great recipe, great technique. Nothing better than simple an good. Thanks Malcom! 4 or 5 whole cloves in the brine would be perfect at two hours.
I just use yellow mustard and a rub right before being placed on the heat straight from the fridge. Monitor the temp. Hover them at 145 for 4 hours, then slowly stoke them up to 175. Applewood works great.
