For my money the best coaster there is Wild One, I do love that ride. I’ve also never really had an issue with the operations, but being local I always went midweek. I do think the hate is over the top, even having said all of that. Touch up the park a bit, get some shade, build a modern coaster. Actually I think a Raptor + a Justice League ride would be perfect. As a person who's middle school trip was to Six Flags America and is my home park, it has its problems. Most GP kids and even me had a great time on the trip. I hate firebird with a passion because of the headbanging but overall the lineup has a good variety. I won't be coming back till my all park passport activates for 2025 to get Skywinder. My main worry is that the dry park will be closed in the next decade as the water park is more popular and Kings Domion is quite close (Ala Geuga lake). Sorry for rambling, but Six Flags America is my home park and had to say all my opinions. Thanks for returning Airtime Thrills.
I got to go for the first time this year and I had a really good time. I have seen some little changes here and there - a new sign for the food court, a new restaurant building, maint. crews on Penguin's Blizzard River and Riddle Me This, and a lot of important corporate people and survey crews around and about. Hopefully in a few years the park will be a lot better than it is now :)

So glad you didn't have to subject yourself to Roar, my GOD that was painful! We went to this park in 2018 while visiting a friend in DC, and we had the mindset to skip the SLC cuz we've learned our lessons on those over the years. But we LOVED Wild One in the backseat, and I think Batwing was my favorite coaster in the park, with Superman a close 2nd and then Joker's Jinx 4th after Wild One. The Vekoma Flying Dutchman model was so weirdly different from the B&M flying models, and I expected it to be more painful, and aside from the uncomfortable lift hill with the sun in your eyes, I really loved it! We didn't get on the floorless as that was the year it was closed to be converted from stand-up to floorless. Wish I had gotten on the spinning mouse now that you raved about it!
I'm glad you agree with giving theme parks a second chance after having a bad experience with them on a first visit. I had rough experiences with my first visits to Kings Dominion in 2008 and Six Flags Fiesta Texas in 2013, but after revisiting Kings Dominion in 2013 and Six Flags Fiesta Texas in 2024, they're among my favorites in the country.
I'm from Central MD and i have little obligation to go back to SFA. Yeah Hershey, KD and BGW are further away and in different states but i still consider them my true "home parks". Really do hope the merger with CF means the park will receive some much-needed TLC but I'm not getting my hopes up. (Also wow Sophie is so grown now, I still remember the earlier days of the channel when she was just a little tyke who conquered kiddie and family coasters. And seeing Amy riding is kinda surreal as well)
That's exactly the way I feel! I don't know the last time I went to SFA. And I doubt I'll be going back unless they build a NEW (as in totally new, not some other park's hand me downs) coaster.
I grew up in northern Virginia but it was before Six Flags America was Six Flags America, and what was there (at some point it became "Wild World") didn't really register as a place where I could go. I think that's part of the problem too: as a major amusement/theme park, it was an upstart, entering a market that was already effectively crowded with major competition. It wasn't going to take a lot of regional business from Hersheypark, KD or BGW unless it was really impressive, and it wasn't. It was a basic Six Flags, and those other parks were all already operating on a level above Six Flags (KD less than the others, but still). What's left is basically the market for a much smaller local park like, say, Canobie Lake.
Will you ever get the Kings Island “Haunt”? Apparently, they are very well staffed with character actors. Plus, more time to experience night rides on the coasters. KI is probably the best night time park in the country.
Good video, Chris. I’m glad you gave it another chance. I just went to Six Flags Great America three weeks ago and had a wonderful time. Btw, I cannot believe how much you girls have grown! It still seems like they’re babies.
I nailed it on the intro in the all bite video, didn't know that the GPS can self-destruct your car as well. The more GPS intro, especially for Elitch Gardens, the merrier.
I am so hoping that the CF/SF merger will mean that this park will get some love. It's quite sad that it hasn't had a new (and by new I am not including other parks hand-me-downs) coaster since Batwing. When referencing this park, I always tell people they will get a new coaster when a very hot place freezes over. Which is probably never....well, hopefully not, but it feels that way. That said, I have a love/hate with this park, and also with the coaster formally called Mind Eraser. Probably more hate, but there is just a bit of nostalgia and good memories attached. SFA (back when it was Adventure World) was the park where I fell in love with coasters big time. Mind Eraser (such as it was/is) was my first inverted coaster. They had another steel coaster back then called the Python, which was an old Arrow shuttle looper. It was fun if you didn't mind climbing several flights of stairs to ride it. Me and a friend spent several seasons visiting the park (as well as Kings Dominion and Hershey) back in the mid and late 90's. Lots of memories. I just hope they come up with something NEW!
@@AirtimeThrills I forgot about the Ultra Twister. People were speculating about whether it was going to be a "new" coaster for the park or it was going to another SF park. Sadly it just ended up getting scrapped.
SFA is not bad at all, not one coaster is bad and the operations weren’t the worst I’ve seen. I visited back in August and I absolutely loved it! I think a lot of well known enthusiasts are entitled thinking everything has to be pitch perfect, which I understand at first but someone like me who does not travel as much - I enjoy when I do and for this park I have almost nothing negative to say. (Not one coaster was down when I went, everything was running smoothly and the park was prettier than I expected!)
You were lucky! Usually at least one coaster is down as he documented on his vlog, and often times multiple coasters are down for the day on any given day.
Don’t take him to Hersheypark, GPS. Actually, take him there. He rides in the back seat. Less wait time for us locals. 😉 Thanks for warning us that Mindwinder is still the worst coaster on the planet!
Surprising positive review! I live close so I'll try to visit SFA next summer and see how things have changed too. I normally ignore SFA and make the trip to Hershey or KD instead. I'm still hoping that the new Cedar Flags sells off SFA and someone like Universal or Disney acquires the property. A real theme park resort and WMATA silver or blue line connection would make me a frequent visitor!
I went a couple weeks ago, and the management under cedar fair was apparent. Wild One, Roar, SkyWinder all running 2 trains, they had people at the front of the station pointing people to rows, and the park was well staffed. Ramar was the big visionary to the new area, and if that’s his plan for the rest of the park I am excited. Hoping that they redo the Whistlestop park area into a DC Universe like what Fiesta Texas is currently doing to bring in more families 🤞
the weekend i visited six flags america (my only visit) both superman and batwing were closed the entire weekend, ragin cajun was closed the friday (the day i actually went) and the SLC hadn't reopened. Luckily I went up to hershey on saturday to make up for it, but friday was massively disappointing and I didn't even bother going back on sunday when I saw superman and batwing were both still closed.
Woo! 10 Credits for Amy! Way to go!! Also has Sophie ridden Flight of Fear yet (either Kings Island or Dominion?) and how does she think that compares to Joker's Jinx and Poltergeist?
So, I live only a little over an hour from this park, and I've NEVER been. I just always choose Hershey and call that my home park as it's the place I went to growing up and still go to, to this day. As well as go to Knoebels, Great America and even Kings Dominion/WIlliamsburg. BUTTTTT, if you say SF AMerica isn't *that* bad... perhaps I should give it a fair shot.
This is my home park and I’ve been going there since it was Wild World. I hate it lol😅 My program takes students there every year and I just find somewhere to sit and watch UA-cam. My own kid opted out of going this year 😭😭😭😭
I just want to say the disgust on my face the year I popped up and realized you had to pay separately for the water park 😮😮😮😮😮😮 I was truly done after that!
Roar is actually the coaster to stop me from riding wooden coasters for years. It wasn't until I rode Gold Striker that I finally started giving them a chance again.
An rmc roar away and new trains on Superman from getting to the middle tier of the chain. I still wonder if they are part of the new chain moving forward
Visited this park in June and it was legit the worst amusement park experience I’ve had as an adult. Firebird messed my neck up so bad and all the rides were running one train with long lines and Batwing was closed. Wasn’t worth the drive from Philly at all!
@@canoone1975 at least firebird has the excuse of b&ms first. T3 was surprisingly not terrible and Roar is just begging to get RMC’d. What angers me is Firebird was a better coaster with the standup trains. Something ain’t right with the flourless trains especially the turn before the corkscrew.
@@KuyBurgOfficial I wish I got to experience the standup trains, since I enjoyed Shockwave at Kings Dominion when it was around. I guess B&M didn't care about treating their first coaster well and giving it a good ride experience, since even though they added the floorless trains fairly recently, they couldn't be bothered to update their decades old terrible over the shoulder restraint design.
@@chimeraizen I don’t even think new restraints can fix it. I think the profiling doesn’t handle sitting down as well as when it was standing. My one ride on the standup was when it was still in Gurnee (Six Flags Great America) and it was the only standup that didn’t hurt below the belt afterwards
@@KuyBurgOfficial Thing is though, Firebird was at least tolerable when I learned to lean my head forward to avoid the headbanging when I re-rode it other times, so if I didn't have to do that I feel it would be a ok ride. Though headbanging is where I draw the line, I could have a higher tolerance to coaster jank, since I enjoyed Skywinder with the vest restraints even though it is still said to be rough, and I enjoyed Anaconda at Kings Dominion even though it is notorious for roughness, probably since I'm tall enough that the restraints don't cause me to headbang on there. If only surf coaster trains were available at the time, and they could have found a way to make it work on Firebird for the uniqueness, since stand-up coasters are becoming a rare model now, like Batwing is a rare flying coaster model at the park.
Just posted my own Six Flags America. It’s overhated, but deserves hate. Entertainment is pretty good. The DC coasters are good, Firebird and Wild One mid, Roar reminds me of Coaster Express-but the front had a bit more bite. Ragin Cajun is too good. Screamore sucks-I also got my camera ejected from the ride, so that kinda ruined my plans but I still did a short Grocery Store vlog because Planes, Trains, Everything does that sometimes. The Acme I work at (same company-Albertsons) doesn’t have much of a gluten-free section, which is the only thing to hate about my specific store (in a general sense). There was a very nice Carrefour across from the main campus of my university in Madrid, but had 2 Dia’s very close to my apartment (and Dia is apparently the store to avoid, Mercadona seems to be the popular one since there was a TikTok where woman would dress up and put a pineapple upside down in a cart to attract a date to the discoteca or something)
Was the rapids ride open and running across from the old mind eraser? If it was closed that would explain why that section was so dead, because it is the only family friendly attraction back there that draws large groups of people who want to get wet and cool off in the hot and humid Maryland weather.
We made our first journey from the BGW area and it was okay. Lots of things closed and we loaded a few times on ragin Cajun only to have to get off for "maintenance issues". I think the worst part was their restrooms. Their handicapped restrooms were trapped in the 90s, and weren't maintained to the point we went to a close-ish Starbucks. Honestly probably wouldn't make the trip through dc traffic again considering we can drive about the same length to carowinds.
I went in June 2024. Batwing and Ragin Cajun was closed all day. Skywinder did not open until about 3pm. Superman closed about 4 pm for the day. Both water rides in the park were closed all day. Flying Carousel and Riddle Me This was closed all day. The antique car rides opened late in the afternoon. The Joker's Jinx had to shut down a few times but opened after a while. My son got stuck on it as the train stopped before the turnaround and they had to push it to the station. Spinsanity was closed for a short period of time.
Surprising Skywinder is now my 3rd favorite coaster at SFA. The layout and pacing has always been good. It’s shaky, I can tolerate it way more than Firebird’s boring, head-banging layout. RMC Roar is long overdue, but I can see a water coaster coming here before just happens.
@@AirtimeThrills That is a surprisingly good ride for a mini mine train. I just rode it in July for the first time since 2006, and I definitely didn't remember anything about it, but it rode really well, a lot like the mine train which is also a good ride, so good small coaster and appropriately named. (Sorry for the insanely long stream of consciousness run on sentence, I should be sleeping 😁)
There's a lot of things about Six Flags America that I really enjoy. I don't think it's the best park by any means but I don't worth writing off like many people have done in the slightest. I think the major bummers are fire bird and roar, just considering how rough they are, but everything else I think is a great ride. I absolutely adore Joker's Jinx, Rajun Cajun is shockingly amazing especially for it just being a spinning wild mouse, the newly refurbished Skywinder is also incredibly fun, especially with that barrel roll near the end. Me personally, I'm not a huge fan of Batwing, but I still think it's a good coaster, just not for me. There's also a tragic lack of good operations at the park, with slow load times and not filling trains, lines can pick up for certain rides, when they really shouldn't have to. Overall, I do think it's a great park with some really good credits, and I do think it's heading in the right direction with the Steam Town re-theming, hopefully we can see something like that happen for more sections across the park.
Great video. I'm curious as to your parameters for gauging whether/when you let Sophie ride a particular coaster/ride. Obviously, the short answer is roughness of coasters for her growing brain, and kudos for that as credits are just that, but I'm wondering if it's a sliding scale and are you going to graduate her at certain age plateaus. Keep up the good work.
My de facto home park!!! It’s not much, rides break, Firebird sucks, but if I want to just ride some rides on a weekend, it’s great with a season pass to have free parking and admission, and I’m starting to know the park quite well. It’s not as bad as some people say.
Always thought Mind Eraser ran really fast, and I liked the setting in the forest and how there was typically not a line. If only it wasn't so horribly rough and painful. I remember when Apocalypse came in being excited that we finally got a B&M, and it's ok, more interesting for the history than anything else. Used to love Roar back in the day though, maybe they'll get a GCI retrack or something, would be a shame to lose it to rmc

That's exactly the way I feel! I don't know the last time I went to SFA. And I doubt I'll be going back unless they build a NEW (as in totally new, not some other park's hand me downs) coaster.
Same. The first and last time I went there was 2003 for my Middle School orchestra performance. Never again. Much rather go to Hershey
Omg same lol
That was the best intro I have ever seen! Keep up the awesome work!
The sequel I never thought I would see, but I’m so happy it’s here 😂
The sequel that EVERYBODY asked for
The sequel we were all waiting for... and SFA's redemption arc! Love these kind of videos you make, keep it up! Also, go Sooners!
Will you ever get the Kings Island “Haunt”? Apparently, they are very well staffed with character actors. Plus, more time to experience night rides on the coasters. KI is probably the best night time park in the country.
I really dont like halloween events, and usually stick to travelling in the summer when stuff is open every day
LOL, LOVE the voice acting at the beginning! 👍🏻
0:05 Oh boy. The car’s snapped.
At this point I think Amy might have more credits than my partner.
Your channel is great man
Good video, Chris. I’m glad you gave it another chance. I just went to Six Flags Great America three weeks ago and had a wonderful time. Btw, I cannot believe how much you girls have grown! It still seems like they’re babies.
I came for the coaster and park commentary. I stayed for the special effects.
5 years later…
ITS STILL YOUR FUNERAL!! 😅
I haven’t been back since October 2020. No rush and i live 10 miles from there.
One of your better intros.
Oh boy… it’s the sequel…
It’s time. The original video was what got me into your channel. Honestly win or lose, I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
I nailed it on the intro in the all bite video, didn't know that the GPS can self-destruct your car as well.
The more GPS intro, especially for Elitch Gardens, the merrier.
That intro was priceless
As someone who has this as their home park: It's gotten worse.
@@leeriffee4606 really with they still had python and the ultra twister that was there but never built
@@AirtimeThrills I forgot about the Ultra Twister. People were speculating about whether it was going to be a "new" coaster for the park or it was going to another SF park. Sadly it just ended up getting scrapped.
Your car is tweakin, I think you need to get that checked…
Easily the best airtime thrills intro ever 😂😂
love the goofy intro
Ride lineup is honestly solid at this park, just terrible ops and a few painful rides can make it easy to forget the positive
3:22 “one cool thing about fire bird is they got the fire effect going every train.”
*cough cough* X2 could never.
X2 on busy holiday...no fire. X2 on random Tuesday...fire
The sequel we never knew we needed
Don’t take him to Hersheypark, GPS. Actually, take him there. He rides in the back seat. Less wait time for us locals. 😉
Thanks for warning us that Mindwinder is still the worst coaster on the planet!
Bro died before he could even leave to Six Flags America, which might be preferable
I was dead and dreaming which is why it actually seemed good
Surprising positive review!
Chris's satnav: Oh not again...
Great video! Looks like a fun park really! I enjoyed watching this!
Peak cinema for the opening as per usual 🔥
the weekend i visited six flags america (my only visit) both superman and batwing were closed the entire weekend, ragin cajun was closed the friday (the day i actually went) and the SLC hadn't reopened. Luckily I went up to hershey on saturday to make up for it, but friday was massively disappointing and I didn't even bother going back on sunday when I saw superman and batwing were both still closed.
Ive never seen both closed, that's brutal
Intro 11/10
Woo! 10 Credits for Amy! Way to go!!
Also has Sophie ridden Flight of Fear yet (either Kings Island or Dominion?) and how does she think that compares to Joker's Jinx and Poltergeist?
But now, Roar is actually fun! I got a big pop of air in 2023 and no headache!
Bleh my ride in 2018 was so rough and actually quite boring
I love these intros so much 😂
The return!!
THE SEQUEL!!!
@@TyRose1984Preach!!!!!! As if $40 for parking and horrible overpriced food and awful ride operations aren't bad enough!!!!!
Wow looks like this might actually be a mid tier six flags park
Roar is actually the coaster to stop me from riding wooden coasters for years. It wasn't until I rode Gold Striker that I finally started giving them a chance again.
An rmc roar away and new trains on Superman from getting to the middle tier of the chain. I still wonder if they are part of the new chain moving forward
Honestly i thought the trains on superman were all right
That intro is goated
I’m so glad to see a sequel to your fight with your GPS over going to SFA. 😂
Visited this park in June and it was legit the worst amusement park experience I’ve had as an adult. Firebird messed my neck up so bad and all the rides were running one train with long lines and Batwing was closed. Wasn’t worth the drive from Philly at all!
@@KuyBurgOfficial Firebird and Roar are almost as bad as T-3. Complete embarrassments to their esteemed manufacturers.
Best intro ever!!!!!! Even better than the original one for this park with the Kennywood shirt on! Who says the sequel is never better🤨🧐🙃😏😉
holy crap sophie already has that many credits? i had like 20 when i was that age ☠️
Same
One word…YES.
That GPS Speaking Facts🔥🔥🔥
THX for doing my Home Park
Oh man Firebird. My balls still have PTSD from when it was Iron Wolf.
That intro is so good
We made our first journey from the BGW area and it was okay.
When are you going to do “Is elitch Garden still the worst park in America” (its even worse in its current state btw)
I went a couple years ago. its absolutely horrible. parking was 25 or 30 then. 40 bucks now? wtf?
I went in June 2024. Batwing and Ragin Cajun was closed all day. Skywinder did not open until about 3pm. Superman closed about 4 pm for the day. Both water rides in the park were closed all day. Flying Carousel and Riddle Me This was closed all day. The antique car rides opened late in the afternoon. The Joker's Jinx had to shut down a few times but opened after a while. My son got stuck on it as the train stopped before the turnaround and they had to push it to the station. Spinsanity was closed for a short period of time.
that car be speaking TRUTH
New video idea:
Amy’s top ten credits based off how she acted after the ride
Numbers 1-10 - all carousels
@@AirtimeThrills I mean coasters only, otherwise, I would assume it would be the train credits
$40 for parking?! That’s like purchasing a ride-all-day ticket for the car.. hoping is waived with a season pass sheesh
Yeah passholders don't pay
It's still ridiculous because not everybody has a season pass!
LMAO I got copyright struck at the exact same spot when I did a Six Flags America vlog
The music is so freakin loud
Next season, can we get Amy's review of SFOT's Mini-Mine Train?
Definitely a possibility
Alright everybody, stop what you are doing. Airtime Thrills has uploaded a new video
Raging cagin best wild mouse ever i will forever miss it at my home park
