    wow amazing guy can you suggest what kind of remote start system and bypass module do I use for a 2004 mitsubishi galant 2.4L V6 sedan.

      +Joseph Libay Which brand of remote start really depends on your budget, but keep in mind some brands such as DEI only provide support for dealers. Most brands will offer about the same features while some have additional channel outputs. As to bypass module, I prefer iDatalink stuff.

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  6 років тому

      Yes it will do that, and all aftermarket car alarms will have this feature (as long it's connected to the dome light trigger)

    Hi , I really found you video very easy to understand.
    I just installed the same prestige alarm on a 2002 Suzuki XL7 ,everything works ok, but the remote start section doesn't, I only have 7 flash from the alarm and nothing else,I tested all voltages and wires , dont know what to do or how? programing?
    can you do a video on how to program the prestige alarm on the tach / voltage detection mode? Or what do you suggest ,please help!

      Robert M Sorry, but I have been extremely busy these past weeks. Try to follow the install guide and do the programming. After a few tries, you will figure out how the chirp works to tell you the current setting for each option. First try to set the tach to voltage sense, and if that works, I would recommend you hard wire the tach wire because voltage sense sometimes work and sometimes doesn't (especially in winter).

    I just completed the install of my Prestige APS787E & Evo-All bypass. My lock, unlock & trunk buttons on the Prestige remote work perfectly but when I attempt to do a remote start, my parking lights flash exactly seven times but the engine never starts. Any ideas?
    I didn't hook up the hood pin switch. Could that be the issue? Does the Prestige require the hood pin switch to be connected for the remote start to function?

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  9 років тому

      +Frank Miller You don't need to connect the pin switch for the remote start to work. There is something else causing it not to start.

      +dial2fast Do you think it could be the Tach issue you experienced? I programed the Prestige for "DBI Tach" but when I attempted to do the Tach rate programming in the manual, it never flashed the parking lights.
      Although I am using D2D mode, can I hardwire the tach wire on the Prestige directly to the car?
      Secondly, I used a multimeter to check the "ground while running wire" connection btw the Evo-All bypass & Prestige alarm & noticed it constantly gives me a 12V reading even when I attempt a remote that. Is this normal?
      Lastly, I just noticed that my Prestige key fob arms the aftermarket alarm but locking my doors w/ the OEM key fob doesn't. Thus when I arm the car w/ the Prestige key fob & unlock & open the doors w/ my Nissan key, the siren goes off. Is this normal?

      +Frank Miller The fact the alarm flashed 7 times when you attempt to remote start, that means, it tried to get the tach signal from the bypass module, but did not receive the tach signal. As to why your bypass module does not send the tach signal to the Prestige, it could be many different reasons. You can try hard wire the tach wire from the engine as that will always work - just more work. As for the GWR wire, I never had to wire that in for the iDatalink bypass when using the data connection. It's only used for W2W mode. If you arm with the Prestige, you need to disarm with the Prestige.

    • @studjango
      @studjango 9 років тому

      +dial2fast I appreciate your response. I am surprised you didnt need to wire the GWR for your iDatalink bypass. That is the only wire that the Evo-All guide for my Nissan Rogue 2012 application requires to be connected to the alarm regardless of if one uses W2W or D2D mode. Here is a link to my diagram -- bit.ly/1TmgoVv
      But wow, I didnt know if you arm w/ the aftermarket fob, you must disarm w/ it as well. Here I thought the Evo-All bypass wasnt communicating properly w/ the alarm in that area.
      Lastly, please can you confirm if you had to wire two wires together from the 22-pin harness on your Prestige alarm to the hood pin switch. I ask because the manual talks about the hood pin switch under two different wire colors.

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  9 років тому

      +Frank Miller Hood switch wire is the Gray/Black wire on the 26 pin connector. And I took a look at that wiring diagram. If Fortin say to wire it up, then guess you need to. Every manufacturer of these bypass might design it a bit different. But as a test, you can try programming your Prestige for voltage sensing on the Tach (Bank 3, 5th feature). I don't prefer to use voltage sensing in place of actual tach but good for a test.

    How are you dial2fast I'm form Nj . First let me congratulate you for the awesome job you just preformed . Secondly it just came to my mind and how to do that kind of job but I'm wonder where school did you attend to. +MrFreddyelgato I am sure most installers have different backgrounds. But to be a good automotive installer for stereos, alarms, accessories, you need to have a good knowledge of electronics. To be successful, you must know how to troubleshooting and diagnose any problems. I was an installer while attending college studying electronics majoring in RF Telecommunicatons. By the way, that was a long time ago. Now that I am much older, I just do some installs here and there as a hobby on the weekend. There is an organization called MECP where you can get certified (Google it). Lastly you do need to be good with tools and be able to take apart cars without breaking stuff....car parts are not cheap to replace.
