Got my Ob6 today! Love it already..just spent the last half hour playing two chords on one of the pad sounds. Love the way they change and evolve. Absolutely love this soundest too..Great work. U had me at the Escape from New York patch!

Luke can you PLEASE make a sound pack for the Pro 3? I'm looking for strictly 80s funk, pop, famous horror/sci-fi movie sounds as well as these presented here. I don't have this keyboard.

I’d go with the OB-6. Out of the two it’s the one that sounds the most different to the P10. The Rev2 would still make a good companion for your P10 though. They’re both amazing synths.
Hi Luke, Sent you a message on your sound set site. Great videos and sounds!! These sound are identical on both OB-6 and Prophet 6 correct? So the circuitry is almost identical, DSI has just tweaked some of the internal drive circuits I think. I also went on you UA-cam site and checked out your other videos and songs!! Great stuff dude!! I had an OB-6 and sold it, as I felt my Andromeda could cover many of the same sounds with Filter 1 (Oberheim-inspired). However, after hearing these sounds, they are so perfect. I am so conflicted.
I have sold a few synths in the past too. A Nord Lead 2, a Novation Supernova, a waldorf Microwave XT and each and every time I missed them at some time and I all got new ones. So the moral of the story is obvious: NEVER ever sell a synth. Never. Just never. Tell that too your wife :-D

Hi luke. Listening to all your sounds trying to make a choice.. there so good it's not helping lol. Wonder if I can get an opinion. Trying to choose 2 synths (will by my only vco, though I have a peak and deep mind too). Choice are ob6 and p6, ob6 and pro3, p6 and pro 3. I'm leaning towards ob6 which seem to lend itself to poly, and pro3 which should gt the p6 sound for leads,bass, arps (and 3 voice para for single osc stuff) plus more modulation and a ladder filter... but then I play your p6 clips...... I know its very personal but what would your thoughts be here. Thanks.
Hi Antony. I've not actually played a Pro 3 yet so i'm the wrong person to ask but what i will say is that the OB-6 and P6 make an amazing combo. You get so much sound for your money.
Hi ChrisAimbit Any time you pull up a patch from the synth's storage, it will show you what the setting is for each knob (I think a red led lights up where the knob was turned to make the sound. The P6 works this way too.) So, all you need to do is purchase the soundset, load it into your OB-6 (keep a copy as a backup), then recall each patch & see where all the knobs were set for each patch. Check your instruction manual or the online manual to verify what I have said. cheers, 🙂
I'm afraid not Kevin. The soundset that i have available for the xd (Vintage/Classic) will be the only soundset i do for it. However because i knew i would only be doing one soundset i crammed a lot into it so you could look at it as a bit of a greatest hits of all my different soundsets and yes there's some sounds in there from my Soundtrack soundsets. There's also lots of House and Disco type sounds from my House, Disco and Funk soundsets.
Luke, I love your soundsets... what are your thoughts on the OB6 vs the Deepmind? Obviously the OB6 is a world class instrument, but I was considering buying a Deepmind as well to have both. Do you think there is a huge overlap between the two, or can you make a case for owning both? Great job on the patches, I'll keep buying them!
The OB6 is definitely in a higher league than the Deepmind in terms of raw sound however the Deepmind has more voices and a better fx section. I don't think they overlap too much to be honest so owning both would be absolutely fine. I think the Deepmind is amazing value for money too.
Luke, these sound stellar! Were you trying for a different vibe between your Rev2 and OB-6 soundsets (e.g. between the Stranger Things sounds, which sound evil on Rev2 but utterly menacing/demonic on OB-6) or is any difference the result of VCO/filter/etc differences in the synths themselves? In other words, do you think the differences in your Rev2 vs OB-6 soundsets showcase the differences between the synths themselves? (Your soundsets will be my first purchases after getting one or other of these synths!)

One of the best soundset for the OB-6. Will probably convince hesitant buyers to make the purchase. I know it did for me.

Luke, do these patches use the built in OB6 effects like hall reverb, or did you add reverb in the DAW? Cheers
