@@ThomasRebour I'm glad you're alive and well. 😌 You know, from time to time, when I feel down, uninspired or overwhelmed I go and watch your "You are unoriginal" video. I can freely say It's one of the most underrated videos on Yt. 😣
I am not convinced that there’s a lot more going on with the process for the McLaughlin brothers and others. In many instances they are drawing from existing time lapse or video footage, as well as satellite imagery and pre-indexed material. This is more than ripe for macros or iterative programming, and as others have pointed out, AI. I say this because the work itself just clearly is far too complex and well-aligned to have been entirely handmade. It might be the case that they have custom written image analysis software or even a background in computer science. What’s certain is that these videos are extraordinarily technically impressive; and it’s not just a matter of brute force.
Awesome! I'm so happy that I now know what this technique is called and sad to find out there is no shortcut, it's just months of painstaking work! I came across your video because I'm trying to find a video I saw a few years ago that used this technique, it was shot in Taiwan or Hongkong or some place like that. It had the most amazing kinestasis scenes about traffic jams and such. Still haven't found that video, but now I'm subbed to your channel :)
i wonder how deep learning/ML/neural nets could be used to both collect, sequence or maybe even generate images for this artform. absolutely fascinating. i loved weval-someday and have kept an eye on paraic's work ever since, wondering how the hell he does it. i find it hard to believe it was all his original photography. that would be tens of thousands of images.
That's a good idea using neural networks to help with collecting/ordering images, as it's a very manual and time-consuming activity! I also discovered Paraic's work with Weval - Someday and was absolutely blown away by it. I don't think it's all his own imagery, as he must've used satellite photos and other stuff, but he still did have to organise and order them all!
He definitely must be doing this with the use of ai, theres 1000s upon 1000s in the those music videos, or has spent years and years on one video, very unlikely. I really really hope to find out how tf he has actually done that
I like your video, but I’m pretty sure these were made with the use of ai, theres no way they actually ordered all those images, theres millions of themmmm
shout out to ruskin
whats the music you use in this video? :o
Great video thanks! Can we do this on the free version of Da Vinci Resolve or is it only possible on the studio version?
It's been two years since your last post. I hope you are doing ok. You are pure talent and I hope you post again.
Thank you so much for the nice comment! I am doing well - busy working - and I have been working on a video that I hope to post in the next few weeks!

4:52 is very trippy appears to move
great video! could you give a tip on how to make each photo the same length in an effecient way.
thank you i’ve been looking for analysis of the mcgloughlin brothers work for a while-
you're welcome! hope it was useful/interesting
this is why chaotic art is the best, raw emotion, the psyche evolving and unknowingly forming meaning from chaos , transforming at all time.

Yes it does take a little while - maybe not months, but definitely quite a few hours!
This is amazing man! thank you for sharing
What frame rate did you feel worked best to convey a feeling of motion? Cheers
This is excellent man. Precise and meaningful. Nailed it.
Thanks, appreciate it!

How amazing piece of research you did. This vídeo is informative, well made and entertaining. Thank you!
Thanks man, appreciate the nice comment!
Thanks for the video! This was really informative - and love the motion vids :)
You're welcome, glad you enjoyed it!
Really good :) Such an impressive work. Best wishes

Great video, gonna try this myself for sure
You can align faces automatically with dlib

It was made before any viable AI software was even available...
Amazing attention to detail and meticulous methodology. Thanks for sharing, Thomas. Thrilled to find your work.
Thank you for the kind words!!
ahh man this was amazing, i love your work
thank you, appreciate it!

This is so fcking cool.................
thank you!!
really intetersting video,thanks
The workflow you used in da vinci resolve ,
Is there anything similiar within the adobe suite because i dont have da vinci resolve
Thanks.
I mean yeah. but can it work on wondershare filmora?
"Order From Chaos" nice nice
The blur idea was great, and I love your version it’s like a “violent” stop motion with the tiny white flashes
Neural Networks are awesome to reorganize photos for this process
that's a good point, I'll look into that - thanks!
super interested in this, could you maybe provide a link to a neural network software which you would use for this specifically ? Thanks
AMAZING WORK!!! Why does this have just 4k views...Most deffs deserve to blow up!!!
Thank you, appreciate it!
thank you for this!
thank you for this!
