    Here are just a few of my Energy and Money Saving Ideas that I've started to implement due to the greedy scumbag energy companies rinsing the public for their profits. I've also added some information I found out that will be useful for those of you on universal credit and other benefits.
    3m polytunnel... www.ebay.co.uk... you can get a smaller 2m polytunnel if this is too big or you can use a normal room near an open window. As for the power, I'm using my solar power station that I built myself which consists of 2x100w solar panel, 30amp mppt charge controller, x3 120Ah deep cycle RV van batteries and a 1000s pure sine wave inverter.
    My solar power station is used to charge my electric bikes, TV and NowTV stick, 800w induction hob for cooking, 100w fan for drying clothes, charges all my power tools, garden shed lights as well as living room light. ( NOT ALL AT THE SAME TIME ! )

    Great tips. Nothing wrong saving some money in what the coppers liken to call "This day and age". We have a slowcooker are also going to buy an Airfryer because you can cook vegetables/steaks and so one in it too. We have a smarthome and all our lamps can be dimmed so the still give enough light and only use 1.8 watts instead of the full 5 watts. And it also turns lights on when you in a room, and turns it off when you leave automatically.

    Thanks, I think everybody is going to have to go down this road. We've unplugged every vampire unit and turned our heating down 1,5 degrees to 19.5. If I had the option I'd build a brick stove in my back garden and feed it on broken pallets. Not much peace of mind for a couple of 71 yrs old.

    You can also get less powered usb heat pads, you could charge battery pack in the green house and then use the usb bank to power that, I bought usb banks that hold 8 18650 batteries, the batteries can be salvaged from old laptop batteries. I have used this method while camping in my car after festival security jobs, the battery pack at that time was also charged via solar panels for cars.

    Nice video, just one thing the freezer wasn't full which I have been told is uneconomical. My tip is about boiling the kettle, people tend to boil the kettle every time they want a cuppa, which is a waste of electricity, unless of course you only fill the kettle for one or two cups. I boil a full kettle and the pour the water into a large flask and use that, kettle only gets boiled twice a day.

    • @PINACI
      @PINACI  2 роки тому

      We only use a measured amount of water when we boil the kettle for a drink but we also tried the flask option a few years ago but found that when the flask is half full then the water didn't stay hot. Maybe I'll go back to using a couple of flasks instead.

    Hello, some good tips, made me think. The foot warms great as I have really cold feet. I will have to invest in a foot warmer.

    • @PINACI
      @PINACI  2 роки тому +1

      The electric foot warmer has x6 heat settings going up to a max of 100w and also auto cuts off after 90 minutes. You can also fill some socks with rice and put them in the microwave for about a minute or so and then place them on top of your feet to warm them up. If you use dry rice in the microwave then make sure you also place a little water in a cup next to the rice.

    Get some polystyrene blocks and fill your freezer with them, trying to keep all that space cold also costs more because every time you open the door it takes longer to cool down the volume of warm air that you have just introduced into it.
    Also, please try an talk a wee bit faster, even running at double speed this video could have ben shorter :)

    I thought about the electric blanket trick a while back, but then I thought sitting for long periods of time with the electric heating bars practically touching the body can't be good for you because of the emf's they emit. I don't know that much about this stuff, maybe it's minimal but if I go really close to anything electrical with my emf tester it always beeps and flashes red, which indicates danger. If anyone is clued up on this stuff let me know either way.
