This band is so underappreciated. They didn't write their own songs but had 3 #1 hits, 11 top 10, and 21 top 40 hits! And....3 lead vocalists! They belong in the Hall of fame but will never be inducted.
three dog night got their name based on how cold it was out side you have one dog to keep you warm and real cold night outside you need 3 dogs to help keep you warm. This is my favorite band
The "Three" is also a reference to their three singers. That was their hook.

A great band. When I found a radio at my parents' house and discovered music, they were among the first I loved. Music changed my life, and I grew up with the best.
I loved this song in the 60s (I’m 74) and love it even more today. Human nature doesn’t change much, does it? Love your reactions.
Chuck Negron (lead singer of this 🎵 song) is from Manhattan NY. left group 1985, Corey Wells (Paisley 👕 shirt) was from Dunkirk NY, passed away 2015 and Danny Hutton ( white 👕 shirt) is from Ireland. He is the only one left from the original group. He's still touring. Saw him last year.
I saw this band on concert in 1973. Fantastic!
I saw them years later and they thought the crowd owed them a certain response. They became victims of their press clippings

All 3 men were fantastic singers and each took the lead in turns on different songs. I hope you try Eli’s Coming, the live 1975 version it really shows off each one’s voice and is fantastic. My fave song by them though is Shambala, great ‘hippie’ era message about the brotherhood/sisterhood of humanity. One is another great song of theirs too!

That's Floyd Sneed (RIP) on drums from Calgary Canada. His sister married Tommy Chong who is from Edmonton. Chong was also a musician and played with a band called Bobby Taylor and the Vancouvers in the early-mid 60's...
I saw them live at the Miami Pop Festival in Dec. 1968 and their performance was impeccable. Spot on harmonies and great stage presence. Another great one by them you'd love is "Out In The Country". There are 3 excellent lead singers in this group - Chuck Negron who sings this one, Danny Hutton and Cory Wells - they all have songs they sing lead on and are equally good.
Easy to be Hard...that's what she said LOL. That was the look Andre had on his face. BTW, I love the clothes 3 Dog Night are wearing, especially the pink scarf! I remember those clothes so well. I started school in 1970, but I was the youngest of 6 kids and my oldest sister was 12 yrs older than me and my oldest brother was 11 years older. The vertical stripped pants were big. I even had some of those as well as the American flag bell bottom pants. My oldest sister wore the crocheted halter tops with the wide brimmed floppy hats and big sunglasses. Groovy man.

The name is supposed to be an old Alaskan measure of the temperature. "It was so cold you had to take 3 dogs into the bed to keep from freezing."
Chuck Negron has such a rich beautiful voice. One of the greatest singers ever. 3 great singers, Chuck, Cory Welles and Danny Hutton. They took turn on lead. Cory did a magnificent job covering Try a Little Tenderness by Otis Redding. One of the best covers I ever heard. Very successful group from 68 to maybe 74. Very many good songs.

Ah the easy sounds of 3 Dog Night from my teen years. They have many good songs.
I loved Three Dog Night growing up and this is a nice version of this song. If you want to be truly moved by this song, check out the movie score sung by Cheryl Barnes. She sings it with so much passion and heartache.........incredible.
🎵🎵 Hello again from the USA! Great channel! I'm 67 years old and grew up listing to these guys, always one of my favorite bands. My favorite song by them is called "Out In The Country", it came out in 1970. This song had a huge influenced on me (and many others of my generation) concerning the environmental movement at the time. Not their most famous tune, but I feel their best! Give it a listen and react if you like It. 🎵🎵

Three Dog Night is a great rock band from the 60's-70's. This band had a lot of energy. They had 3 guys with great voices that could all sing lead vocals. Some of their hits are "One" (written by Harry Nilsson), "Just An Old Fashioned Love Song", "Shambala", "Mama Told Me Not To Come", "Eli's Coming", "Try A Little Tenderness", "Never Been To Spain", "The Show Must Go On", "Joy To The World" etc.
Please give more Three Dog Night songs a listen. I've loved them since the 60's. Three great singers.

This is a socially conscious song. Their #15 hit “Out in the Country” was an environmental advocacy song. The latter song is known for its clean , clear crispy production. Thank you for this great reaction.
This song came from the broadway musical Hair. There were several hit songs covered from this play. This is one of the best American Musicals.

Me being 65 now I remember when listening to this I worked for a moving company in L.A. and we had a two day packing job who happened to be the lead guitarist for TDN as he purchased a new home for his new wife and daughter. The whole main floor was there sound studio with a big five inch thick oval wooden door with rope to pull open. Inside were sections for each member to play. Anyway, on the 2nd day his wife came downstairs and handed him divorce papers. Well he was broken up about that and stated, why move now. So l followed him as a friend and we sat outside in backyard and smoked a joint and talked about life. 😊Thought I’d share.

Growing up on a farm in Michigan, my brother and I would listen to the radio in the barn, we both loved 3 Dog Night and ended up buying 3 of their album's. Being from Michigan near Detroit we heard lots of Motown, you would love so much of it you've done Diana Ross, some others to try Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, The 4 Tops, Temptations and many more. 😉 Peace ✌️ ❤Gary

Regarding the time of the song, remember songs HAD to stay under 3 minutes to get radio play. It took a while for that to change. You have struck a vein of gold with Three Dog Night! Dig in....

As most young teenagers, I had some different tastes in music than my parents, but my mom was pretty hip and there were several albums that we "co-owned". Three Dog Night albums were definitely in this category. I think of mama (may she rest in peace) every time I hear them. Thank you for your reaction.

This is another song from the musical "Hair." Along with "Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In." which you've already reacted to, there's also the title song "Hair," which The Cowsills recorded, "Good Morning Starshine" by Oliver, and "Ain't Got No, I Got Life" by Nina Simone.
There's a fundamental truth to this song. I don't know how many people I've known who are kind only in the abstract, who support all the "correct" causes but are horrible to the people who are close to them.
