Hi all!!! A couple of viewers have spotted no lume test!!!! The footage of the watch glowing was glitched!!! Let me tell you out of ten it was a very HIGH 8!!
DaDaDaDaTrampoline! ..... every time without Failure I get that tune stuck in my 'ed
Thanks much!
Hi the best watch reviewer I have a deep blue juggernaut 5 in purple, have you seen or handled one, thanks
Yeah, I was like... it is just me or... but no... lume... test... :(
These watch youtubers need you to make the mistake of buying these no name brands nobody wants so they can finally afford the new tudor blackbay and their next rolex.
I called in there last week unannounced with a mate as he had a Holton and they immediately showed us round and made us both extremely welcome. A really really great company with amazing staff. They also do a special remembrance t shirt for charity each year. Great company.
love it Russ - and cheers for following my advice to review one! I have worked with EB to produce a Special Projects one for my old colleagues - after a lot of due diligence this was the one i selected!! we have one coming with special unique markings/colour ways on its way!!! Excited!!
If it’s gonna be quarts, for God sake, be solar quarts
Naaaaaa no need
Solar. Yes.
Two too few 'z' s in that comment.
I'd rather it be pints than quarts, but to each their own 😁😁😁

PLEASE REVIEW STIRLING TIMEPIECES NEXT.
Serving British army here & long-standing fan of the channel. I beg that you look into Stirling. They are a similar company to this. Started by a (still) serving soldier and a veteran. They create gorgeous mil-spec watches, test them on live operations (ran over by armoured vehicles and the lot) and they're all named after famous military figures such as "Durrant" & "Fraser" to name a couple.
They're my favourite microbrand, they're British & they donate 10% of all sales to Combat Stress who help out veterans & their families. My Stirlings have been around the world with me and survived all the British army could throw at them.
I’ve got one in !!! It’s coming!;)
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTORThat's brilliant news. Can't wait to see your thoughts on them.
Allrighty! Gonna aim the beam towards them Stirlings. Like the charity policy too. Luminox is doing something similar If my memory doesn´t fail me...
@@haourss You won't regret it mate. Brilliantly finished watches, original designs, some swiss movements, some autos, some quartz etc. They're brilliant.
Meh... they arent like sangin, ares, resco. Just my opinion. They use off the shelf cases instead of designing their own. Support their cause but until they have an original design instead of the same cases aliexpress brands use ill hold off@danthomas9658
Another great video, you are my go to watch man when I am feeling low ( most days!) thanks for cheering me us Russell 👍
Very cool. Always enjoy learning about a watch I did not know about. Thanks for the great review!
Always nice to see another brand. Thank you for showing it to us Russell.
If Bodie and Doyle were still knocking about, they'd rock this watch.
I’ll never get tired of you entertaining reviews and exuberance. You’re a real gem in the watch UA-cam space
This is really cool...love seeing Brands that you dont see everyday...but I wanted to see how that puppy glows!
This is nice! I dig it! I’ve never seen it before so thanks for the heads up!
Nice, I had been looking at their Holton Land Rover version a while ago, which seems to have the same case but a different dial and hand design. Good to see a review of this brand!
Great video and I like the variety of alternative brands 👍
I didn't particularly like this watch until I saw it on your wrist and then, all of a sudden, I wanted one. My favorite part of this video was the segment describing the history of the brand and how the watch itself came to be. How many watch companies can say they come from such humble beginnings that they didn't even start by making watches, they started by simply making straps. There was something endearing about all of that I appreciated. Well done to the two gents who decided to branch off and make this excellent dive watch. Well done to you as well MWC for always producing great content on your channel. Even if I don't like the watch being reviewed I always enjoy the content.
I like this. It’s not the kind of thing I generally like. But I like it! Very cool! I’d get the automatic because I like to pay more for things to be less rugged.
Hahahahahaha yes we all go there Ben!;)
Nice looking watch and appreciate the rigors that its put through. I'm not into all black watches, but this Holton, to me, is simple, uncluttered, yet attractive. I need to look at this one. Thanks
Great looking watch. Where’s the lume shot? I don’t mind the date since it’s the negative type and easier to see. Thanks for sharing it and have a great day! 🙏🏼
Looks amazing value. Will check this one out
I love my Holton professional! It’s solid and has never let me down. I swapped the strap for a CWC olive green nato and it’s the business.
The watch already gets a thumbs up from me due to its heritage. I was always a big fan of Animal watches - have several in my collection. I agree with you Russ that the water depth should be more prominent on the lower half of the dial, and I'm also not a big fan of sabre hands (that's just my personal preference) but other than that, a fantastic watch, AND it's British. Great review 👍
Great review. In fact, I just ordered this exact watch on the bracelet.
As for the negative space on the bottom half of the dial, I would rather see the broad arrow ever-so-slightly larger and in white rather than the depth rating, but oh well.
I love it! If i didnt have an Ares Diver 1 i might have ordered this right now. Saving it in my maybe list
Looks really good. I was one of the first folk to buy the Animal Velcro strap in the 80s. The watches were pretty good, by all accounts, but I already had a G Shock DW-5200 Hero. Good review.
hey MWC! How does the second hands line up with the indexes? all good?
The wife segment was hilarious… 😂
I always enjoy your videos, even when I don't stand a chance of affording any of the watches you show!
Actually love it !!! I never go over 40 mm case now but I would with this one !!!
Great review, i like the date window 🤷🏻♂️
I have 2 of their Land Rover collaboration pieces, based on the Holton. Great watches, great lume, very tough. Highly recommend.
Got mine on watching this. Love it.
i love how stealthy the date window is
I like it, I also like that they HAVEN'T put the 200m above or below the broad arrow and like where they did put it.
I think it looked good on your wrist.
Great content as usual chap! 👏👍👌🤘✌🖖🤙🍻
I loved Animal straps back in the day and also had an Animal watch which was quite nicely finished x
I've ordered my 2nd watch this year. In the previous 20 years, I've had 2 G Shocks! The first one was a casio duro as an experiment into non digital, and arriving today is a casio AE1500W. I'm lusting over a mudmaster gwg-b1000 or 2000, but I can't really justify the price. Especially when all I need is date and time, so the AE1500W is a test run into one of those. Could you please consider a comparison of the top g-shock models.
Love my Elliot Brown. I have the Holton Professional automatic.
Dorset born and bred, thanks for educating me on a local brand.
I have the Canford and very pleased with it. Quality watch
I'm leary of people playing on my Seiko fandom to tell me how great a watch is. But damn, Mads you delivered. Thanks!
Looks really nice. Stealthy and tactical. Perfect for my active* day job where every day is full of unknown dangers**…
* desk-based
** biscuits
Adam, more or less exactly what I was going to say. Rich tea I hope 😂
Not to mention he dangers of the coffee machine
Hey that door jam and that hot coffee pot can be dangerous ... Be careful out there
That odd reflection on the glass, btw, is to make it anti-reflective.
Really like this watch. There's also another UK brand called Sterling that is making similar military watches like this. Really like the style of the Elliott Brown, it has the G-Shock toughness as well it seems.
I've run across (not over) EB for some time, never gave them much notice. Thanks for your review the Holton appears to be the 'real deal' GADA. Kudos to EB for using the Ronda quartz. Love the sword hands. The Nivo variant is very sweet, one I could go for. I'd love to see the Holton w/ a hardened silver case.
BTW, if you look (closely) at the logo you'll see it's actually the letters E & B, whoda thunk it? Second BTW, I'm from Maine, USA, so here we spell it Houlton.
Great looking watch for the price ,thanks ❤️🏴👍
Would like to have seen the Lume. Great looking toughie tool watch!
Loads to like with this rough and tough tool watch 💪 It’s priced a little higher than I expected and I’d prefer it if it was a couple of millimetres smaller but otherwise you’ve got a watch that will take pretty much anything that gets thrown at it!
Got one of these really like it
In my opinion one of the most attractive watches you showed this year, thanks for the presentation 👍
Great review! Each to their own but i don't like the design and would probably look like a dinner plate on my wrist. I've a protrek for outdoorsy activities which blows this one out of the water too and has features such as a compass, Barometer etc.
You need special operators binoculars to see that date!!!😂 nice to see the second hand hits the markers though!
I do like that, really appealing to me. I have no problem with the name. Good to see 2 keepers on the strap...why can't Casio do that?
This will most likely be added to my wish list. Thanks MWC for highlighting this one.
Hey Russ how good is the seconds hand aligning to the markers? was it bang on all round?, you kept taking it out of shot.
It was pretty crisp on the markets my friend! Obviously wouldn’t be able to speak for all of them but this one was great!
Got mine on right now. It’s on a khaki single pass Haveston with a black buckle. Ooooh, tactical.
Sounds Kinda Acceptable.😊
Can't wait for the NIXON review, will it be the stinger 44 Dive?
Really cool. I think if it was a bit smaller that would help the face design. There’s a lot of space on the dial at the moment. Or make the numbers bigger?
How about a Suunto review Russell my understanding is that they are also often worn by the military and considered on par with a G-Shock.
Special forces will throw that in the drawer and forget about it, they already have a G shock strapped to their wrists.
This’ll be for best missions only!!;)
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTORit'll be amazing I agree. I doubt if they'll really buy it but if they do..they won't go wrong
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTORhahahahahaha
True
Nice review as always. Thanks
I like the date window. It's different, albeit small.
I've seen a few of these and they are severely underestimated. It's a shame that you didn't include some footage of it being blown up as that would have silenced some of the haters. Many people can't justify spending money on a Quartz, but being reliable and accurate is important to members of the military, and durability is a must. Not everyone wants a G-shock.
Russ…. Looks like a really cool watch. Love the look. But you did not do your usual lume test. I missed that…
First thoughts, timex expedition but for some reason it also gave me thoughts of the Tudor pelagos, definitely worth a butchers
Couple of great Casio deals at Argos right now. Just got the MRW-200H for £12!
this looks a good watch. I'm after a watch that can be dropped on the pavement or knocked against a brick wall and not show any scratches or chips. the only one I can think of is the victorinox inox black carbon automatic with the protective rubber bumper that doesn't show anything after a scrape, a drop or a bash. all under £800
I used to work on Poole Quay in the office above a marketing agency run by the founder of Animal. He was a cool guy! Had no idea he was part of the duo behind Elliot Brown though.
Is a really nice looking watch and I need a date window and this one is pretty hidden. I’d buy one.
My brother left me his animal watch when he passed away. Unfortunately I was only 12 and didn’t realise the battery had been left in it and it corroded it and it’s unfixable. I have it in a bag anyway. It’s actually a well built little watch.
You could probably get the movement replaced, might not even be that expensive.
@@peteglanton9259 I tried and the jeweller said that it would be hard to replace the movement as there’s no guarantee all models use exactly the same one. The watch was made in the early 90’s
@@peteglanton9259
I had a battery leak in a watch that I wanted to keep. I went on "the big auction site" and found the exact same watch that was all beat up but still working.
It isn't very hard to swap movements with the dial face attached.
I had an Animal watch in the mid '90s, they sold them at the my local bike shop where I bought my mountain bike.
Looks great…! Concept sounds fantastic…! Really atractive… the watch…! 😃😜
Should look at the Nite watches.
I always used to wear the animal strap's on my Casio's in the 90s when I was a teenager. They always used to end up smelling of sweat so had to bin them and get another lol.
The bezel face was hilarius 👍⌚
I kinda like the mini date thingie..huge bright white Cyclops date-imijigs put me off sometimes.
That is one cool watch!
You need to review the 4P!
Reminds me of a $19 quartz Casio that I own... super-sized and with LOTS of upgrades. Personally, I have graduated from quartz, but not real date windows. $45, tops... $65 with crack'n lume. (Still lume-check lost... and wandering.)
Can you please review the omega seamaster 200 pre bond
finally, on agreement a watch I would like to own. one day I will,
Nice field piece indeed but i reckon most forces wear G's ....Very stealthy though great review seen em advertised on facey...
One problem with G-Shocks is that in order to see the time at night, you need to use the light. And they are somewhat reflective in bright sun. Great for soldiers, but for special forces, a little less so. This has AR coating on the glass ( that odd coloration you see ) and the lume is fairly faint on purpose.
The watch is great, but I would personally prefer the Gshock watch. Thank you for the excellent video.
This looks sick
I like it. Watch Christian Craighead aka Obi Wan Nairobi though, when he’s talking edc he prefers reliable automatic mechanical, as if the balloon goes up, you just don’t know how long battery will last. not saying they all think the same but it’s an interesting perspective.
I call shenanigans, is he a brand ambassador or angling for a deal? Apparently he was wearing a Garmin during the Nairobi attack. I'm sure most operators would rather (solar) quartz if the poop is hitting the fan, in much the same way that divers use a dive computer not a Submariner.
A fair point…
The Holton Auto GMT with the sand leather strap at £795 is a bargain if you ask me 👍🏻
Love it! 👍
This is undeniably cool & as much as at pains me to say, looks much better than a G-Shock (I say this as a bonafide G-Shock fan)
& it goes without saying, top notch review. 10/10
my wife has just sanctioned my purchase of one I'm ex Navy so it has a nice resonance with my life looks awesome!! tough. Made for servicemen ....and girls xx
They have two smaller watches in the pipeline coming soon👍🏼 a field watch and a new version of the Canford with a smaller case.
It's kinda giving me 5:11 Tactical vibes y'know. And you know what that means....I bloody well like it! Send me one over and I'll test it n'all 😂
What's a Rehalt ( I think that's what you said MWC? ) above the 24-hour scale? I've never heard of that before on a watch.
It's the vertical circular surface around the edge of the dial that slopes down from the bezel to the dial surface and sometimes has the minute markers on it.
Great watch, hardness coating, smash proof and Sapphire. Seiko and G- Shock might be sweating.
A tough mudder!!!!!
Handsome lookin’ watch, I like it 🫶👊💥
You convinced me with the no fingerprint feature. 🤷🏻♂️
There was no Lume test!!
Wow!!!!! Great spot!!!!!!
Hence I scrolled back twice thinking I’d missed it!😵💫🤣
Unacceptable😂
he probably didnt do a lume shot because he seen how 💩 the lume was
@@CarlosGambino_22 Special forces actually don't really want much lume as it might give their position away.
Can you review the air fix watches please
Not sure I like the look of them and o have childhood nightmares of Airfixs that didn’t go well!!!
Glycine Combat 42 from Joma or Ashford crushes this AND has an automatic Swiss movement. Get the bronze and call it a day.
Well I don't know what Sinn and Damasko have been doing with their tegimented steel and 1000m water resistance, but with this watch they might as well hang up their gloves 😂
Love mine. It’s bomb proof couldn’t recommend it enough
20% off for ex-service personnel too! They now have my interest!
The dive watch on my wrist right now (a Seiko) has two words on it that the EB does not have - DiIVER'S 200M. And it's only a hundred quid or so cheaper than the CWC diver.
Great video👍 Pleas do more videos about eliot brown watches, maybe less tactical ones🙂🙏thanks
People always mention the strap protecting a watch in a fall but honestly they always fall face first as its the heaviest part of most watches. Just felt I had to say. Cool watch never heard of them but will be finding out though!
Good point!!!
Surprisingly nice.
