That blast beat was perfect for that spot.. I actually laughed first time I heard it.. Now I can't imagine the song without it. I just love how this album seems to grow every time I listen to it. Something new always pops out. Thanks for doing these BTS vids.

I really hope this lineup sticks for a good while, because the way they all work together, and lock in when they're playing, is nothing short of magical. 🤘🏼🤘🏼

You really get the sense from these videos that they've formed two really solid partnerships of Nick and Seb, and John and Gina that then come together at the end to form one big awesome Baroness. A bit like the zords in Power Rangers

Can Oscura is such a dope moment. It's one of the elements that makes this a full album listen every time for me.

This album is a great, love it, love all Baroness stuff. The guitar work and harmonies just really do it for me. But this album is all about Seb and Nick. I absolutely love them!

I fucking love gold & grey and I get everything you tried on it. People complaining about the 'clipping' may never get why for example the Beatles' Revolution was so iconic. If I recall correctly it was the guitar straight in the mixing desk at full level to get the distorted sounds. Sometimes you got to try some new stuff to stand out from the rest. And you guys did it. And I love this album to death. Thanks for all the epic tunes, Baroness! 🧡🖤

It sounds like garage demo band that didn't have money to properly record an album so they used a smartphone (well, a good smartphone would record live music better than this). It's not a good aesthetic and it kills any dynamics or musicianship. Death Magnetic sounds like masterclass in mastering compared to this. Glad to hear someone enjoys it, though.

@@hrvojekrsnik6572 well, if that's your opinion, good for you! Not gonna argue, because music is very subjective. If you only like very clean, hifi recordings, I understand you. But it's not because something is new/different, that it's immediately 'bad'. Music isn't competition, it's about making something that you stand behind and make people think and feel, like every other art. Imagine if painters never tried something new after the 'perfect' classic painting styles, how boring would they be right now? That's why you need a little change and risky, once every while.

@@NathanSidFLook, I get it. You're very passionate about this band. Again, to each his own, I'm not trying to change your opinion. Just realise that this isn't new or different. Plenty of bands have made similarly brickwalled awful sounding albums (again, death magnetic being the most prominent example), most of them in their early careers when they didn't have money for proper sound engineers. Only thing that is new is that the artist is saying they deliberately went for that sound. It's like if Tarantino made a decision to film Once upon a time in Hollywood with shitty smartphone camera. Sure, you deliberately made that decision, but most people will find difficult to enjoy it or even watch it for more than a few minutes.
Going for that lowfi raw sound is nothing new, but this isn't way to do it. Listen to something like Bad as me or Bad as me from Tom Waits for a good example on going for a distorted, compressed sound that actually adds something instead of retracting from experience, or even completely ruining it.
Best sounding Baroness records were already just passable from sonic perspective, but there you could defend it as an artistic decision by saying that the band wanted that muddy sludgy sound. The fact that songs on this album even manage to break through this muddy wall of sound is testament to the quality of songwriting. but it feels as though you're listening to the concert trapped in a basement through ventilation shaft. Someone MIGHT like it, but I think most people would prefer to be in a front row listening to every note band plays in high fidelity.

@@NathanSidF I feel very passionate about this because i fell victim to the Baroness sound aesthetic already. Just a couple of months ago friend asked me to go see them and sent me a couple of studio songs. I listened and said no thanks, not my cup of tea. After the concert I was hearing for days how amazing the concert was so I gave it another shot and played a live show (Live in the K!Pit). Holy cow, that was amazing, way better sounding and more energetic than any studio recording. It turns out it is my cup of tea after all and I really really regret not going to that show. Now I can enjoy studio recordings, but only because I got what they're going for through live recordings. I still wish they were produced better.

Have yet to even listen to the rest of your work. I am working on my own music and it's coming along very well. You're all huge inspirations for me, and I think Gena is so fucking awesome! limitless, damn i miss that show. I didn't watch it when it first came out because i hate cop/lawyer/doctor shows. But when i caught it later... MAN!!! it was like coming home! It had a levity/brevity that was so refreshing! so many shows dive too hard into drama and forget about the watchability of a show. i need that humor and playfulness!
