Dude, you are an amazing player and Instructor. There's no way these lessons should be free, but here they are. Thanks so much for your continued content.
Hi. Been playing the piano a long time. Playing currently with a blues and soul band. Always on the lookout for fresh stuff. You offer a lot of good stuff here. Thank you! Downloading your free course also! You’re great!
Love this type of lesson I’m a beginner to the blues and would love to see as many lessons on slow blues style…aka left hand chord with right hand licks and runs etc…❤thanks Grant 🎹
Hi Noah, as always thanks for your generosity in sharing your knowledge. 🙏 Noah, I wonder why you are calling grace notes a roll , rather than, well..grace notes! 🤔😳😎🎶🎵
Thanks for the licks but what I’m really after is those bebop enclosures at the beginning when you do the 251 in your little improv at the beginning. Could you break that down?.. I hear basically the same thing in many tunes but it’s too fast for me to get. Also the arpeggios right before that - sounds like you are playing outside or something over the last F and D before the turnaround. I can pick out the notes but I’d rather understand the theory behind it. Thanks!!
Just to narrow that down a bit, I get the arpeggios when the bass is descending from Am - and the descending thirds when the bass is on C. All I’m really missing is the enclosures while you are on Gm - it sounds so great amd I can copy yours by rote - but I need a way of conceptualizing that so I can create my own on the fly. Thanks so much
Thanks Noah.. makes me think of Watermelon Man by Herbie H which I picked up by ear when I was quite young. You've shared some great ideas for voicings and rh scales!
Can you do the same tutorial but instead of regular plain old blues can you make it Oscar specific? and his left hand is similar but arpeggiated and add thirds
Your so-called mistake at around 1:52-1:55 was actually brilliant. If you have separate audio, listen to just the playing without your voice over. It was ever-so-slightly outside melodically and rhythmically.
Blues in F is the meat and potatoes of Bebop sessions.. As a pianist I was always worried that some guitar person would want to play in E or A. Doesn't feel the same, and doesn't sound the same.. F is jazz! Sure work on all keys..but F, B flat, C and G win!
Nice technique, great licks! The theory is questionable? This is not in the key of C like the music staff graphic says. While it shows the notes you are playing I don't find that graphic helpful. A line in standard notation in the proper key would be very helpful. The licks are awesome! Thank you'
I'm sorry, man, but you should have shown us what you played in the beginning. That's how everyone starts their sessions with. You deviated allot from your teaching also and got egotistic. Try and stay humble and teach us beginners something. Relax we know your a good player nobody is gonna jump in UA-cam and take your moment.😂😂😂😂😂
Yeah, for you beginners, turn away now before you break something and become uninspired. This is flash fast with no notes. Well the notes are there but the not long enough to even pause. Wait, is there some sheet music notes? Went from 100 to 1000. Like a calculus tooter who doesnt know why you dont get it.
Are you using an X-stand for your piano? I made the mistake and watched this video on my 1440p monitor, thus noticing the wobbling of your piano and now I can't unsee it... Argh! Cool lesson by the way!

Awesome lesson man cheers!!!!! Just learning a walking bass in the left hand so this will impress my teacher tomorrow :)
Hey, Noah. Greetings from Venezuela. Thanks for sharing this content with people. It has been of great help to me to know more about Jazz.
Playing in F is good practice. The 1/2 step slide up is challenging. Also new comping practice. Thank you

Noah!!!!! THANK YOU!!!! Very much!!!!
Great!
Could yout make video that describes the bassline of what you are playing here? Although (because?) slow, it's great.
Thank you sooo much

At 5:20--the dal-ya-dah, which is so usable. Thank you for these great tips!
Thanks for the video noah! I was wondering what chord recognition software you’re using on the top left ? Seems very useful
Sure thing! Actually have it linked in the video description :)
Thanks Noah.. makes me think of Watermelon Man by Herbie H which I picked up by ear when I was quite young. You've shared some great ideas for voicings and rh scales!
You’re welcome, Lucian! Yeah definitely some Watermelon Man similarity there, same riff. Cheers!
Enjoying the vid so far 🔥, wasn't expecting that at 5:11 😂
Hahah awesome hope you like the rest of it
Gorgeous
Top notch
Hi Noah, tank you so much for the video!
Would love to understand the rational behind that crazy walking bass line you do at the beginning! Cheers
you are the best
😌muy bueno!!

Thanks, Jack 🙏

I still stand by this statement.
What piano do you use, chief?
Do you have any of this in sheet music form?
What’s the difference between a riff and a lick?
5:38

Can someone please point to where I can learn the way he’s playing the bass here?
On the bottom left of the screen you can see 😂
It would be great if you show the scores on video.
whats with the maple syrup in the back ground haha
Hahahah it’s a candle actually

How can we sound like Gene Harris?
Yo mile-a-minute Noah. What specific blues key u in ,dude. Start with that
Sticking in the key of F in this video 😅
Piano licktionary
No voice, only piano. Maybe my computer?
No. I will not "smash" that button. I will, however press it once. Gently. It has the same effect.
hahaha thank you! A gentle press works even better. Much appreciated.
I find it so funny that he thinks he can play it and list out which finger it is and then the students who are watching can then ...viola...plan it!!!
