    My dad was a member of IPMS back in the 60's. He was deep into it. Planes, subs, ships, tanks, and the military figures with the painted eyeballs....never did he paint one that looked crosseyed. His little workshop had nearly 800 built models and more than 3000 still in the boxes; i counted them all. When he passed mom got some good $ for the unbuilt stuff and sold the built kits to one collector. In the mid 70's he got into guns, big time and never built another model until the day he died. Mr. Meticulous in everything he did. I remember going to the mailbox and pulling out that IMPS monthly newsletter countless times.

    There is just so much detail spent on these works of art. I've always been a person that enjoys the minute detail the modlers put into achieving a finished end. What I never see though is a photographic zoomed micro lens view. I know the equipment is scarce and probably expensive... But is there no one that captures.serious close up views ? Instead of panned views then zooming in.
    Id love to be taken into that world for a life size experience. You know of any YT creator that does this ?

    An experienced modeler told me that when you go to these places you'll either get really inspired or extremely depressed lol.

    • @vincentlussier8264
      @vincentlussier8264 4 роки тому +6

      No reason to feal depressed at seeing beautiful work at a model contest. These modelers who are really good weren't allways that good, because they had to learn at the beginning also! You can't run before you can walk right? Every one there is willing and proud to answer questions so don't be afraid of them! It makes the hobby grow. Jimi Hendrix taught anyone who wanted to play guitar and he is theee guitar God even to this day!

    The righting of the Oklahoma really looked amazing. Trying to capture such a monumental task in scale form accurately.... can't even imagine. Wonder if the person building this did so in light of the renewed efforts during past several years to identify the unknown dead that were found aboard her when she was salvaged?

    I love Sully's Hudson cruise diorama. Is possible to get more infos about plane and figures used? Some are not of my same opinion here, criticizing because of some "mistakes". I thus appreciate the idea to give honour and commemorate a crew who saved many souls. That diorama has its own soul, others dioramas haven't.. Best congratulations to its maker from Italy :)

      Hi! That’s actually my dads build. So sorry I didn’t know this video existed until today. I’ll get that info back to you here in a bit. I sent your response to him and he will text me back soon. He used liquid water on this build which didn’t survive the heat of the travel to the show. Kind of depressing because it was one of the best build. The liquid water just didn’t hold up to really capture it.

      @dragonsknights Рік тому

      Hi Corinne! Thank you very much! I had in my mind that diorama but no more the title of the video. Now I have saved it. Lot of questions for him: Please ask him if boats are scratch built, which factory makes the plane as well passengers. Last, if he made by himself the decals with the name of the airline. I bought some planes 1/144, have to check if I bought that model of A-300/320 Thank you again 🙂
